For all you frozen ppl in the N. Hemisphere - I am sitting here at 6am and the temperature is 28C! I cheated a bit, by the way - Arcadia is the next village to mine (Nelly Bay, doesn't sound nearly so nice even though it IS. Too hot to stay in bed, not hot enough to turn the aircon on yet....this is a tropical island off the coast of Australia. Not where I would have expected to end up in a thousand years! Getting into the proper Christmas spirit can be a little hard, though, especially as, apart from Da Boss, my husband of 45 years, none of my family is less than a thousand miles away.

TY everyone for the munchies - hey, what are you trying to do - turn me spherical?? anyway!
I will reciprocate with a couple of cases of fresh mangoes for everyone to share - we have so many this year that we don't know what to do with them!

Hi Jill. Thanks for visiting my page. I love Illawarra flame trees, they are magnificent! We have a few in the streets around us but they're too big for my garden. The flowers of these are past their prime now, so well have to wait till next November to see them in their glory! They Brachychitons (B. acerifolium) & grow 35m (100ft), whereas the NSW Christmas Bush (Ceratopetalum gummiferum) only grows to 13m (40ft). They are related to the coachwoods. The Christmas Bush is just coming into its prime. I do have a baby Brachychiton in a pot (B. bidwillii) that my daughter's grown from seed. It's the Pink Lacebark from Qld & only grows to 10m (30ft)! It will go into the ground at the house on the Hawkesbury when my husband retires from his full time job & we move up there!

Oops a few typos! "so we'll have", "They are Brachychitons". Hope that's all. Bye see you next year if I survive the next few hours at the shops!

Off the coast in Queensland? Sounds like a nice warm place anyway. It gets warm at Christmas here too but a dry heat and hopefully not in the 40's c.

WELCOME JILL to sudokuland. Lots of interesting people and places, come on in and make yourself at home! I am from the Southeast USA, where we are having a mokd winter interspersed with spring like days. Today forcast is 62* F (17C) again. not typical for late December.

Loved your comment about braless at home and humidity, yes, that talc comes in handy!
