I have that same love/hate relationship with plaid. You'll smile with smug pride every time you look at it once it's finished...and I'm here smiling with you just knowing what it takes to do a plaid up right.

Thank you for caring - about plaids, about babies and daughters who are new moms.

I had a[n unscheduled] c-section with my first, and the pre-birthing anxiety was never really any different whether c-section or "normal."

Danstell - have I missed the gender name and vital statistics? How is your daughter doing? Did she make it through without fainting? Did the dad? Have you picked out a name for yourself yet - there's grandma, gramma, grannie, sugar gram, nana or nanna, grandmother, grandmum, etc. That choice is almost more important than the child's name, not quite, but almost.

Hi Danstell. The tulip avatar was given to me by MizT ... she is on the SA9 site, but you can check out her page and ask her. I'm afraid I'm not terribly computer literate, so she helped me with this.

Where in Quebec is your B&B located? I live in a small town southwest of Ottawa in eastern Ontario.

Help me with the translation? Evidently my 30-year old high school French is inadequate. "En titi"?

Also, is there a straight-out way to determine when ones uses "il est" vs. "il fait"? In French one says "il fait froid" but in English "it is cold" (or "it is getting cold"). Is there a way I can judge when the faire vs. the etre is employed?
