Thank you for the birthday wishes. It has been a lovely day. Went to my favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner. The special messages from all my friends on Sudoku made my day.

I'm struggling! But I am determined to learn this here subject! But how can you learn physics when there's this math thing that is confusing. I only went as far as geometry in high school because I was an English major. Golly!

Ok to learn about vectors I have to understand sine, cosine, and whatever! Today while driving I was trying to figure out what measurements would I need for a right isosceles triangle. I got to finding the square of simple numbers. Got to about 3.5 by 3.5 by 5. I know close but no cigar. So now I'm trying small increments. Doing this all in my head.

Oh you lovely soul!!! I feel much better knowing now that I'm heading in the right direction. Learning on my own was a little disconcerting because I wasn't sure if I was understanding it correctly. But after you and Peter and HalT I feel I have helping buddies to steer me in right direction! Bless you!

Jamie, the circumference of a circle is 2 multiply π multiply the radius? I see 2π r so it got to mean the above, right?

Do I have to get a special calculator to figure out the sine when I have the hypotenuse and the opposite side. No wait a minute the opposite side if I know the degree of the angle and the hypotenuse. Something about a degree mode?

Hi Jamie. Thanks for your belated birthday wish. It's nice to be thought of whether it's my birthday or any other day! I'm glad you are keeping busy - it beats being bored! I'm sure you'll be missing your dad during the upcoming holiday season, but it's good that you have some new branches on the family tree, too. Jamie i think he will really enjoy Melbourne. I'm a country girl and don't really enjoy cxity living, but all the people I know who have lived in Melbourne have loved it - good food, sport mad, excellent entertainment. Monash is a good uni with a good reputation for some of the more difficult courses. I think it rates pretty well in the scheme of Universities around the world. A different system to your universities and I think he may find there is a large contingent of Asian students as many come here for education. Tell him to enjoy and learn about Australian Rules Football quickly!!!!!
