Hey Mamacita. Happy New Year to ya, girl!! What can I say? We connect where others derail. I respect you. Thank you for your presence on this site. You are such an imnpressive lady as I've witnessed time and again your ability to twiddle the tempest of pettiness to grasp what's real. We will soon meet face2aface. I so look forward 2 it.
I love you and sincerely wish you the best in 2007.

MAMACITA - what a beautiful scene. Wish we had seen snow in Texas, but maybe not the 30 inches they had in New Mexico where we usually spend New Years.
You are a wonderful contributor to the site - keep being yourself for the new year.
I hope some of your family health issues are sorting themselves out - I think of you and your wonderful spouse.

The page has turned to another year. Sully and I enjoyed our usual party for two, complete with good food, bubbly, music, candles softly glowing, and with the knowledge that life is and has been good with and to us. Health is valued, and while not where we'd like it to be, good enough to be able to function on our own. Its hard for me to believe that Sully will be 81 years old in 2 weeks. When I see the shape some much younger than he are in, I count my lucky stars that he is doing so well. As for me, I plan on losing anywhere from 15 to 30 pounds this year, and will start slowly this month by increasing the daily workouts and cutting back on the food and drinking. After a visit with my doctor this month, I will increase my activities as much as I can until I reach the body changes that I really seek. Reduced fat from my upper body and waist line. That to me is more important that the actual weight loss. With the support of others, I feel it can happen, with the added benefits of looking better and feeling better in mind, I vow to work hard to make it a fact.

Mamacita - thank you for your words of encouragement. I know that 26 inch waist is long gone and don't really know why I keep the pants.
Another promise I have made myself is to get rid of all clothes that become tooooo big for me. I've always made the mistake of keeping them but this time I'm determined to make a lifetime change, so later this year I won't be needing the XXL's

Hi Mamacita. Did you and Sully have a good welcome to 2007? Hope you do well in your plans to shed a few pounds, but don't change too much or I won't reconize you when we meet!
All the best to you and yours in 2007!

Hi Mamacita, Thank you for your caring comments. Beautiful picture, I miss the snow and the beauty that comes with it. Nice win for Penn State. I watched Dan Connor play at Strath Haven, who is in the same league as Springfield, Pa. The very best to you, Sully and your family fof 2007.

Mamacita -an update of my resolutions -I have decided to take each day at a time and not set myself too big a target over too long a period. (Except for my waist, of course)
I have selected a belt on which the biggest setting just fits comfortably and have attached my pedometer. My guide will be the setting of the belt. I will wear it everyday and aim for 10000 steps a day, yesterday was not a good start 4739. Still I can only get better.
Good luck with your exercise and targets.
So glad you and Sully had a good start to the year Steven has a bug and not too happy but with inhalations, fruit and TLC I dare say he'll soon be up and about.

From the Talmud we learn that The whole worth of a kind deed is in the love that inspires it. I have been blessed with many kind thoughts and deeds from all of you, and I do feel that love is needed so much in this world today. I thank you for all that has been given, and I hold it with deep feeling. Thanks for the time and effort your visits are continual gifts. 01/02/07

Mamacita, I bought the podometer in a sports shop. You just attach it to a belt and wear it al day and it counts for you. I believe in the US that Oprah is a big fan of the 10.000 steps program. I saw it mentioned on this site and Googled '10.000 steps'. It came up with a lot of sites. The one I chose is Australian(again) is free of charge and sets challenges you are free to do or not. You can register your steps every day and they keep count.I've signed up to try to do 250,000 steps in month of Jan. That is 8065 steps a day average so I'm a bit behind but will catch up on the days I play golf, I hope.
Thank you for your support. Let me know how you get on with the pedometer. My dog thinks all her birthdays have come at once, but she is 14 years old so I'll keep an eye on her.

Hi Mamacita 2
I am so glad you visited me. You are right - I dont post very often , but I do read comments and I know most of the regulars. As you see I am from Israel , I am a teacher , better said ' retired ' teacher. Decided to retire and enjoy life .I love to travel ( came home from Morocco last week ), read , make powerpoint presentations ,write . I heard something nice - in our life there are 3 stages ( regarding traveling ) :
GO GO
GO SLOW
NO GO
so I decided to retire to have time to keep going as much as possible .
I am still unfamiliar with managing ' My Page ' , but I will learn - I hope. Meanwhile , come and visit whenever you wish, I will also like to get to knwo each other .
Happy New Year !

Mama~ Thanks for checking in~ I got to the doctor today 1~2~07, in the afternoon. The doc told me I have some kind of Conjuctive sinusitis, and bronchitis, and another bronchial thing.
I've got the antibiotic, and she says I'm cleared for strep, so it did get KILLED. I wish I had some more strength to stand over the stove, I would heat a pot, and sit over it. Right now my side hurts so much from coughing, I don't want to do a thing. I will probably make my way to the couch soon, and count the hours down, until my husband gets home from work and can take me back to the pharmacy to straighten out the mess of my COUGH SYRUP~
Apparently, because it's a narcotic, they need some ''CODE'', and of course the Doc, office was closed by the time they got to my prescription. I'm frustrated, mostly because I haven't slept in over 2 days, and I can't even stay in the same room as my husband, or he loses sleep
So, i'm trying to have patience with the pharmacy!
Thanks so much for checkin'! I'll be back around during the day, I'm sure.

Hi Mamacita. I do hope I wasn't being obtuse in mentioning about not to include email addresses in posts. Just don't believe it's right to post someome's email without their permission. Whta's with this weight loss thing? Are you concerned, or is this just a personal desire? Whichever, be careful and take care of your health. Please don't overdo it.

Mama
you are doing really well. you have top take into consideration your age and health but am sure that the extra you are doing will certainly make you feel fitter and healthier. we dont have to do it all in a rush just small steps and the weight will stay off and we will feel much healthier. I took my mum swimming in the heated pool yesterday to help her too. mum has many health issues and some relaxation of he rbody in the warmish water will help her enormously.
cheers

Mamacita - someone on this site suggested marking time whilst doing jobs normally done standing still. Preparing veg, ironing, I've been doing this and have added several hundred steps in the process. Just thought I'd pass it on to you as it has helped me.
Off now to park at the far end on Supermarket car park and pick up my new steam iron, called a centrale vapeur here. Has steam like a proffessional cleaners iron. Guess what I'll be doing this afternoon? Whilst marking time to Rod Stewarts new CD.
Keep up the good work at your own pace.

Yes the marking time does work, doesn't it. Our last walk yesterday evening was the only one not done in rain. We are off out for our first walk today in about 10 minutes and guess what, it's raining.
Sleep well and wake refreshed. I'm at the stage where fatigue has hit and I really could just go back to bed.
I need a cup of tea and my walking boots...see you It looks so grey outside, speak later

By the way Mamacita, my dog loves lettuce. When I'm preparing salad she actually begs for a lettuce leaf, then takes it to her mat an guards it then eats it, strange animal!

Only 5322 steps today plus 2000 for 20 minutes of exercise. I decided my legs were getting all the work out so spent some time with a couple of cans of tomatoes as weights working my upper body. Wow I'm so unfit. It was more hard work than the walking.
How are you doing? Still walking or has the weather changed.

Mama~ That's a wonderful picture. A cute suit too!
I wish I looked as good as you, seriously. You'll die when you see my before pictures. However~ I'm not sure when I'll post it. It'll be a shock to see the weight lost, I'm sure. When people see before and after~
Thanks for the soup. I'm still working my way back to the loop of things~ Still weak, my head is loopy and stuff, though I'm going to attempt some errand running with my hubby~
He has a touch of my sickness, but nothing the same, so far, so that's good.
TAKE CARE~ see you around
