Thanks CG, I need all the pushing I can get! Today was the first weigh in, and as I expected, no real big difference of weight. Depending on which part of the floor the scale was placed, and both spots were near the spot where I weighed last week, I either lost 4/10 of a pound or gained 2/10 lb. So I will just ignore these results and look forward to next week. On the positive side, Yesterday I consumed only 1400 calories, drank about 3 litters of water, walked 1 mile and worked out at the gym and ironed for a couple of hours. Today, no outside walking at this point, consumed 670 calories through breakfast and lunch, worked out at the gym for an hour and have had 1 litter of water. Will be having chicken stir fry for dinner and an apple for my snack. Still have to work out those calories. More water of course, and will walk the dog our usual 1/2 mile. Not two bad. Second full day completely alcohol free. If lemon slices count, I'll have to add a tad more. No real hunger pangs thus far. Gym routine includes 22 minutes on the treadmill at level 8 or more incline and a speed of 3.1-3.8, staionary bike 15 minutes, speed 4.2-4.4, level 1 weights, ab machine at 55 weights,2 sets of 15,repeated twice, arm wing span, weights, 30lbs, 2 sets 15,repeated twice. The weight goes up 5 lbs next week, and I will increase time on treadmill to 25 minutes. If I continue as I am, I should lose something next week!

Wow Mamacita you have more energy than I have. I felt tired reading all that you fit into your day. No wonder your body looks so firm in that swimsuit. I wouldn't dare show my bare flesh, yet.
The walking is definitely making a difference to my legs so I am persevering with the cans of tomatoes. Next week abs. I stepped about 9300 today.
I raise my evening water to you.

Mamacita - Wow, your exercise & eating regime make me feel ashamed of myself! I play tennis, but that's about all these days. Haven't been to the gym in over a year now & used to go 2-3 times a week. Keep in mind that because you are working out so much you are probably building muscle mass which weighs more than fat. Hang in there - you WILL lose pounds eventually.

you are doing so well .... the photo is gorgeous anyway.
the weight will start to fall when it is ready but fitness wise you must be feeling good too. dont try to overdo it though ... slow and steady wins the race.

Okay - that one made it. Here goes again. I read your comment on my page about Sully. I'm sorry I didn't know he was not feeling well. I haven't been keeping up very well with personal pages or even on the site in general. It's too bad you won't be able to make it down to FL at the same time Suzanne is here, but I can understand your wanting to stick close to home until Sully's feeling better. We'll just plan another SA meeting for whenever you DO come, & by then just think how slim & trim you're going to be!!

Mamacita, I got a RCA MP3 player for Christmas. It is compatable with the library system to download books. Bonus: less expensive and more memory. Unfortunately, I haven't totally mastered the library download yet, so I borrow the CDs, ''rip'' them to my laptop, then ''sync''(new words) them to
my MP# player. It is about 3/8 inch thick, 3'' long and 2'' wide. Very portable. When I'm walking outside, I usually listen to the sounds of nature, pluss I have to focus on the dogs(wrangling 140# of dog keeps you busy), but the intent was to use it at the gym. Haven't been there yet, will set myself up to go tomorrow.

Mamacita, read your post on Health and Fitness. Well done on the walking yesterday. How did the dog stand up to it? My dog had a day off yesterday as I played 18 holes of golf (totalling over 13,000 steps!) This morning she wants to walk and I want to go back to bed. Of course she didn't go out to dinner and sing with the band till nearly 2 a.m.!!!
I was very good drank only water, and a lot of it. Had the garlic soup, duck breast, salad and OK a few of the fried potatoes. I gave my cheese and dessert to Steve, which was hard 'cos it was local walnut tart.Oh forgot we also had 'fois gras'. Great evening - now I must do some housework.

I only did 8500 steps today that is 5000 less than yesterday and it seems the rain is back for at least 5 days.
I have started doing the twist in the bathroom before I body brush and shower. Now there is a sight to spur on my weight loss and body toning. I wish I'd thought to cover the mirror!!!

Hi Mamacita! I have been remiss lately in dropping in. How are you faring? Sounds like you have joined the crowd in terms of slimming down. I see from the above posts that Sully was unwell? Hope all is good now. Take care my virtual friend!

Congratulations on your inch loss. Isn't it a wonderful feeling makes those waistbands that little bit easier to fasten? We will all get those curves back, well a little bit closer anyway! Have a lovely weekend. Hope Sully is feeling better.

9701 steps today. Checking in early my left foot is killing me. As my trainer shoes were looking the worse for wear I got out my old leather hiking boots from the back of the closet - now I remember why I put them there. Going to soak my poor feet then shower, slip into something comfortable (and warm) and relax and watch a DVD.
Back later

Mamacita: Hang in there. I lost 60 lbs about 3 years ago and have managed to keep it all off. (Weight Watchers) I see you are exercising. DO NOT FEEL DISCOURAGED if any week you weight in and the scale shows no loss. Take your body measurements and check that as well. Some weeks the scale will not move, but your body will shrink. Hang in there!

Mamacita, they may hold some rooms past the Feb. date. They just want to get a head count early. We are hoping to pick up some more people at the Alopecia conference in June. Check back and there may still be some rooms.

Congratulations on your results at the end of week 2. Gently Bently, my mum used to say, wins the race. Not sure what exactly she meant but I think the effects, on our health, of what we are doing today will prove beneficial to us all in the long term however slowly or gently we achieve our aims.

Hello Mamacita, long time, no visit. Sorry it's taken me so long to visit your page but the past month has been very hectic and I've spent most of the time with my family. Just the odd few comments on site mostly as I didn't want to neglect my family, I spend so little time with them.
I hope you had a lovely festive season and are looking forward to a happy and healthy 2007.

Mamacita - I just visited my own page for the first time in a LONG while - saw you had visited. Thanks for the visit and concern - we just found out today that they want my MIL to wear the neck brace for another four weeks! We had been thinking that they would tell us after today's x-rays that it could come off. OUCH. Jeanie is very despondent, because of the trouble she has dealing with her mother constantly trying to get the brace off.
Prayers would be welcome.

Again I thank everyone for your thoughts, concern, compliments and friendship. The support has been just overwhelming and ever so helpful. I am doing well with the food intake and exercise. Jazz and I are not walking as far now since winter has finally come. I can deal with the cold up to a point as long as there is no wind, but we have had a lot of wind recently. I am hanging in and Ed, I haven't quite reached my goal just yet, but am getting closer everyday!
