Jane, I used to ski, in a different life, I think. Then I got badly out of shape driving trucks and not exercising. It just wasn't the same when I had to stop and rest all the time.

My nephew got me to try "boarding". It was ok, but the same problem with being out of shape. Now after the hip replacement.......

JAne, I have been doing pot gardening the last couple of years, so that is mostly what we are doing. We do have 3 small areas we can plant flowers, first we have to take out the bushes and such. One area is about 14X20, one is about 8X10, the last area is L shaped long part about 4X20 short part about 4X8. This is enough for Harry to have some of his day lilies and we can also have other flowering plants my Ornamental lilies, some cannas, callas, peonies & tiger lilies from my Moms. Have room for tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, just not as much as we have now. I now have in pots ornamental lilies, columbine, callas, amaryliss. We have a large front porch about 10X50 where some of the pots are, we took the last over this morning and arranged the porch with flower pots and the furniture. I will be diging some of the bulb flowers I will winter them in the refrigerator and plant them next spring. We also have a large back patio where I will have flower pots also. To get out the back of the house there is a walk way, I call it the maze there is one section that is ours so there will be plants there also.
Yes, we have to down size but that is't all bad, there will less work outside and inside.
