LOL, tell me about it. I am a middle aged, (early-middle) middle child and we have been recently orphaned. I have found that I have taken on 'the mother' role and find I get the utmost pleasure from seeing everyone else happy. There's nothing better than watching others get enjoyment out of the smallest of things. (tissue please) My little brother lives in Melb, he is 'sending' me his oldest to look after me for New Year, but I have to take her home. I think it is his way of making sure that I still get out and about. So, I'll be a travelling willbury with a hormonal 13 year old female driving from Brissie to Melb with absolutely no idea.!! Please give me strength.
And if you hear a faint scream in the distance in about a week or two, don't panic, it's just me going quietly insane. Sitting in the corner, rocking back and forward, with dribble coming out of my mouth. Just pat me on the head and sing me a lullaby.!

You just try and organise anything without me!!

so much for a wonderful & enjoyable interlude this arvo...we all enjoyed it immensely. The only complaint from the peanut gallery was why could we stay longer etc. etc. I'm going to use you as a lever to get some help around here...told Lachie I'm not inviting you back down here until we have cleaned up a bit of junk...hehe...Only comment was do we have to start today...tomorrow is green waste day and I intend that the bin be VERY full when it goes out...also the garbage bins...

Oh I commented on pavs too soon. Maybe Mum used to take it out of the oven straight away to keep it crisp all the way through? They're my preference, but I've never been know to knock back a slice or three of good marshmallow ones!!!

Anne and I are both well and are recovering from a lovely few days with our kids at Bronte. But soon our world will gradually return to 'normal'.

How are you and your 'other half' surviving? I guess it is nearly time to wish you both all the best for 2009. In the words of an ancient Arab, "May your crops flourish and your tribe increase"
