Hi Tami, sorry for responding so late but things really got hectic for last couple of months. Got so involved in settling my younger daughter that I was in virtual spin and picture was quite hazy. It seems to be getting clearer now and hopefully she will be settled soon.
Yes the temple and the atmosphere around the temple is simply amazing. Its PEACEFUL !! If you can, then you must visit.

Gday Tami, just passing, thought I'd drop in! How are the boys going. If they're anything like my kids, they will probably tower over you soon! But then, as my dear Mum always says "Isn't everyone taller than you!" Yeah, thanks for the support Mum!
How are your preparations for the 'C' word. Not mentioning it until we have gone to the Melbourne Sudoku get-together on Sunday. Maybe then I will feel more in the festive mood!
Anyhoo, all is well in my corner of the world and I hope it is the same in yours.
Merry you-know-what,
Gail

I have finally found a spare few minutes and thought I would try and catch up with a few friends. How are you and your lovely family? I must confess I hadn't realised your boys were so grown up, how old are they now? Looks to me as if you will have your hands full soon, wont' be long before they start bringing home the girlfriends.
Hope you all have a great day, and I will try and pop in again soon.
Toodles for now.

Hello Tami
Oh like ouch, I really don't envy you at the moment. I've got 4 teenage daughters, and umm yep been there done that, and still doing it I'm afraid. Two are over the "pushing to see how far I can get" stage, but unfortunatly they have started the "I'm old enough" stage. Little do they realise, they are not. I sometimes wonder why I complained when I had to get up every 3 or 4 hours to feed them. At least at that stage all I had to do was feed them, now I have to listen to them winge and talk back. The joys of parenthood LOL
I read from above that its not "happy christmas" to your family so its
HAPPY CHANUKAH to you and your family.
May your days be filled with love, fun and happiness.

Hola, Tami! We were at Metrozoo on Saturday (1/5/08) from about 10AM till well after 4PM, so I am sure we were there at the same time! It had finally warmed up after two days of cold temperatures, though a few showers came thru the zoo. My favorite animals were the pygmy hippos, which the keeper said were pound-for-pound the most dangerous animals in Africa.
Might I recommend the place we ate dinner two nights? Nunzios Restaurant, 11433 SW 40th, in the West Bird Road strip mall (just east of the Turnpike), was a pleasant surprise. We went there the first night because we were so tired from being in the Everglades all day, and it was right next to our hotel. But it was so good we went back the second night. The food was excellent, the waiter friendly and professional, and the owner moved around the place, making sure all were completly satisfied. Muy Bueno!

Hi Tami,
What a great photo! We lived in Colorado for four years, and only went to Aspen and Vail in the summer. Couldn't afford it during ski season but no matter. They were the most breathtaking places I'd ever seen in my life.
Have fun planning your son's bar mitzvah. I had both parties at my house, catered. First was in San Antonio during Fiesta, so that was the theme. Had a great South American restaurant do the food, and hired a combo of young Latin acoustic musicians. Zach was in the band and we knew we'd hit pay dirt when all the band kids said the musicians were the coolest! We had a bartender supervise the beer and margaritas, and had a virgin margarita machine for the kids. A great time was had by all.
Second son's bar mitzvah was here in Eugene and the theme was Casa Blanca. Found a used white tux jacket on E-bay and hubby cut a dashing figure as Rick. A Middle Eastern Muslim immigrant who owns the best restaurant in town catered -- glock kosher! -- and we ran speakers to our terrace and lawn and played 1940s music. Rented tables and the terrace became an outdoor cafe.
Both parties were relatively inexpensive by bar mitzvah standards, and most importantly, both were a blast. Our relatives who'd spent tens of thousands of dollars on their kids' bar mitzvahs were jealous!

Just got off the phone with my son, and thought you'd appreciate this. He's in a multi-national program the goal of which is to study environmental issues as they impact on the Middle East region so that there will be folks of like mind in government agencies throughout the region hopefully impacting official policies. At any rate, Sam, my son's, Palestinian roommate didn't have anything to use for a Purim costume, so Sam let him go as the leprechaun! Too cute, and too many ironies.

Hi Tami! Saw your message on Terry's page & decided I should come back to pay you another visit. I have a cousin who lives in Tel Aviv, Israel, & I also keep in touch via e-mails with Noemi from Israel. She makes the most wonderful power points including one she sent me this week with Happy Easter wishes even though she is Jewish. When will your son turn 13? I guess planning for a bar mitvah is like planning for a wedding!
with that. Hope all is well with you & your family down in southern Florida.

You know I dont' have a clue what program LA uses. I think they have their own program. Elementary SIS (I think it's school information system) I remember being trained to use it 15 years ago but back then it was used by office personnel and coordinators like me. Then about 5 years ago teachers were told to enter grades with this program. I was quite garrulous this morning because the site was slowing down. Had two windows opened here and the school one. I bad, I bad!!!

My school server won't let me access this site until after school is over. But by then I'm busy trying to either work with students who need help or I'm meeting with my mentee teachers or trying to do a gazillion things for the next day. What I'd really like is a few minutes at lunch time to take a breather for the day and that's when I can't access it! Rats! Oh well. You relax now! You need this week to reconnect with your sons! Happy vacation time!

Chica is only a year old and she is not real good at sharing. She seems to think everything belongs to her. I've had her since she was born. What breed is your Rachel? I love all animals. If and when I move to the country there is no telling what type animals I will have. See ya later!
