Hi, Suzy! I think we may have met in the Science pages. Nevertheless, it's time for a (late)welcome gift. I'm bringing some freshly made apple cider and apple struedel, as this is the end of apple-picking time in these parts. I hope you enjoy them! Thanks so much for sharing your family's trick-or-treating! It sounds like great fun! Good luck with your studies & exams!

Suzy, if nextG works in Moulemain, it must work anywhere!! I've driven through there a few times. As for the soft toy problem, try eucalyptus oil and a wash in the tub. D#2 would probably be into that. the bicarb option sounds good, too.

And since I never got around to welcoming you,

Try this site Suzy. Silly me, it's baking soda apparently, not bicarb. But it was fairly easy to google. I just put in 'how to clean stuffed toys'. Good luck.

Suzy, a suggestion for cleaning the toy. Spray lightly with carpet shampoo (Rid have a good one but do not use the aerosol as it has too many nasty chemicals for a toy) and then keep wiping over with a wet towel. A warm day and it will quickly dry.

You could also try hand washing him/her using a wool mix or Lux flakes, that way you can keep his/her head above water. Hand washing would stop any lumping.

Hi Suzy, Thanks for the tip about the quilts. One of them just needs the edging done, and I did get some info and help from this site and a local quilting friend. The other one needs more work and I can ask my friend for help. The thing I really need is the time to do it.

Suzy, I have found that resistance is useless and a little choc won't hurt, would it? I'll think about going for a jog tomorrow, they say thinking burns up calories so I'll think about it really hard!
Hey Suzy, did I read that you are up near Snowtown? My tribe are originally from SA and moved here into enemy territory 10 years ago for hubby's employment. We lived in the Adelaide hills for the last few years of SA civilization but I was born in Woomera so I grew up in a hot, dry environment. What's it like up your way...that is, if I've got it correct!

Suzy, normally I wake at 5.00, listen to the ABC News over a cuppa, then attack my pooter until 6.00 when I have breakfast watching Sunrise and fall asleep again until my wife wakes me. Dull isn't it?

Hi Suzy, I appreciate your difficulties this morning. I left a couple of messages for you on the two sites that I frequent - Sudoku 'Medium' and Jigsaw 'Hard'. However, please don't expect that every morning - you have your own life to lead and you don't want me breathing down your neck every morning. So, enjoy your kids and don't work too hard (if that is possible) and I'll be in touch from time to time. Cheers.

Gday mate, isn't quality one-on-one time just the best. Last Wednesday, the Vic teacher's went on strike so D#3 and I had an unexpected day together. We went into Emerald and 'did' lunch at the local 'noice' restaurant. We had a great time. She and I are lucky that there is the age gap, she is mercifully distanced from the yucks of the other two!
I hope both your daughter's benefit from the experience.

SUZY, thinking about you as your surgery date gets closer and closer. Two more sleeps?

I know you are nervous. Most people do not choose to "go under the knife" for fun.

Wishing you a speedy recovery . will be looking for your return to the board. Good Luck and get well soon!

SUZY, good to see you back on SA3. I read your note to my mail, nice to hear from you. thanks for letting me know you were back home. Glad you are up and motivating around, hope your recovery continues smoothely. We will be around to help entertain you, so take it easy, work a puzzle, take a nap. Read a few messages, take another nap! Sleep, good foods and vitamines and a serving of vitamine C a day should have you healed soon. Oh throw in a tiny bit of exercise each day, walk a bit further than yesterday if you can comfortably, but do not get overtired. Nursey Tricia has spoken.

HOW DARE THEY. . . leave you home alone with no food and drink! Order up an igloo of good stuff set beside your bed or recliner. Cold meat and salad, iced - - - what do aussies drink iced in summer? I was ging to say Iced tea, but most Down Under Girls I talk with prefer hot tea, even when it is brutally hot temps outside. OK, you can have cold juice and iced water, no beer and wine till all your meds are finished. Chocolates for desert.

Now do you have, do you need a laughing pillow? one to hold to adbomen when you laugh or cough? Now sure why I am assuming surgery is to abdomen, chest area, but since you are typing and walking, I assume not a foot or hand.

what kind of ornament are you making? I crocheted once upon a time, would be interested in what you are making.

Suzy, didn't realize you had your surgery already. Glad to hear that you made it home and taking it easy. Like MizT, wondering what you're crocheting. I crocheted snowflakes for my neighbor a few years ago. She wanted "old-fashioned" decorations for her tree. Take care.

Suzy, I asked Gail just what Down Under Girls mdrank that was iced, and she said bubbly! Well, cannot mix bubbly and medications, so how about iced tea? If you have not tried it, you might like it . Cool and refreshing on a warm summer day.

How are you progressing? doing OK I hope. How many ornaments finished now? Just how long till you can resume normal activity?

About that laughing pillow, find a small one used in a chair or on a sofa, and keep ithandy. Grasp firmly to abdomen before a laugh or a cough, hold firl=mly with both hands, it soes help.

Hope to see you again soon, you take care.

Ahhh, suzy, love the idea of a good excuse for not vacuuming and sweeping! Now just what is it you need lifting, I shall buzz right over and lift it for you. . . well, might take a while to get there, so you must plan a day ahead at least

How is the crochet going? do you More...

have finished ornament(s) yet? I saw some ornaments for sale, at a craft table at a quilt show, and these were the traditional blown glass balls, but with all I can describe as a " hairnet" of crochet and beading over it. As much as i have pondered this, I have not figured how they could have been made.

Be cautious with the getting tired. One thing we taught post surgery patients, with thier discharge insturctions, if if you over tire, you take 2 steps back in your recovery. Say on day 4, you get really over tired, you are back to day 2 and have to work 2 extra days to get back where you had been. You can see if you continually over tire, you are going to really really prolong your recovery period. if you work and rest, work and rest, stopping when you begin to tire, you willmake it through just fine. Just a hint from nursey T. and my nurse cap shall go back on the shelf.

Did you order up those igloos of cold food and drinks to be left for you? Is making a lunch getting easier if they have not appeared?

Hugs and healing wishes to you

Motorized carts are an experience! I walk most of the time, but on occasion have used the carts. I think it was 3 years ago Christmas I did all my shopping from a cart, broken ankle and I could not manage the store on crutches. Hubby had to take me and let me out at the door and wait for him to park then find and bring me a cart. Several store chains now offer the carts here. We brought our own heavy, dark bags, so I could hide my purchases from him, even when he had to load them into the auto. Glad I can walk this Christmas.

did you find that people walk right in front of you without thinking? those carts are a bit hard to stop, No brakes, just turn off the motor.

Hope you are resting today after such a busy day yesterday.
