Hi Judy, just dropped in to have a hot chocolate with you before bed. Think I'll have trouble sleeping after all the coffee I drank with all the folks this morning - I'm normally a decaf girl. Here's some flowers to brighten up your room
and some cake for your visitors tomorrow.
Goodnight.

Hey, this is nice - visitors calling before I even enter myself!! Being a rank amateur in some fields, it may be some time before there's anything to look at when you enter, but nevertheless you're very welcome. I'm glad you're a hot chocolate before bed kind of person, CP. If I drink coffee at night I have trouble sleeping too. Thankyou for the goodies - you too andre. Hope you like Earl Grey tea, as that's what's on offer next time - with Tim Tams, of course!

Hi Judy, I thought I would come and visit you now that you've moved in. The piroshki recipe I just got out of a book I was given in the late 60's when I was a young bride (ha ha). I believe that they are from Russia although my daughter had some friends from Romania and they said they used to make them. I actually have 2 different recipes but have only tried this one.

Judy - loved your quote about knowledge & wisdom. It seems to me from reading your comments that you have a very good share of BOTH!

Well thankyou, Kathy! And Col - I'm having a re-think about the 15th. The function I usuaqlly have that day has been moved to the Wednesday, so it may be possible - if I can afford to give the whole day to it. As you know, it involves 4 hours of driving and the return trip always seems such a drag.

Earl Grey Tea and Tim Tams. After Hugh sent me some Tim Tams, I'm hooked. I think they'd go well with 'ol Earl, too. Thanks.

Hi Judy, Sorry you aren't around, and the fridge has been emptied too...luckily I came bearing gifts of wine and cheese, along with a bunch of flowers as a house warming gift. I do hope you enjoy.

Hi Judy!
Mind a quick vitit from a Canadian? I see Mamacita has started to re-stock your fridge, so I'll leave a few Canadian Beavertail pastries for you, a little assortment of flavors since your chocolate ripple cake is all gone.

Judy - can't believe Mel finished all that chocolate ripple cake before I got here! How in the world did you remember my birthday is Dec.4? I never knew anyone else born on the same day as me & today I find out about two - you & col's grandmother. And the best thing is you're both OLDER than me, so now maybe 60 doesn't seem so bad after all!!

Hello Judy,
I hope that you have some clouds on the horizon. I only say that as I was in Bendigo recently and it was VERY dry.
Grey water for the garden only I believe.
Enjoy your weekend

I was so busy with birthday greetings yesterday that I forgot to check the fridge. Thanks, mamacita for the wine and cheese, Greg for the beavertails (intriguing)and Nancy for the carroy cake. I've had grandchildren here today, so there's not much of my dip and rice crackers left, but I hid the fresh cherries - a treat for the Northern Hemisphere folk. Enjoy!!

Judy - my grandmother's father (my great grandfather) was 22 and he died of pnemonia. They lived in Koroit (near Warrnambool). By the time the got the buggy to take them to the nearest doctor (in Warrnambool), the doctor diagnosed him and put him on a train to Melbourne. He died en route. My Great Grandmother brought up her two children and ran the dairy farm for many many years. My Grandmothers tells a story - of how they had to walk (cant remember how many) miles to school each day and back again. Except on Fridays once a month - their mother would harness the horse to the trap (the good buggy) and they would all go in to town. My Grandmother and her brother would get a h'penny to spend on sweets and it had to last them a month until the next trip

hey chocolate ripple cake - that brings back memories! my mum NEVER used to buy biscuits (always made them) except for chocolate ripple bikkies, which she had to HIDE so's to be able to keep them long enough so's they got soft enough .. and she could then make them into chocolate ripple cake.
YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I learnt where she hid them tho, in a very high cupboard right at the back. must have been a terror, mustn't I!!
tho the cake was better than the biscuits so sometimes I was a good girl. truly.

Thanks for visiting my page, Judy. Did you go into flickr and see the rest of my photos. I've now put more of Albany on there. Do you remember the smell of the whaling station, it's the type of smell one never forgets, especially if you visit there now it brings it all back.
Ooh, fresh cherries, I bought some on my way back from Mount Barker on Sunday after our Christmas Dinner.

Hi there Judy, thanks for the cherries, they've always been one of my favourite fruits,i'll savour them.
As to plans for my retirement,Barbara and i are homeloving folk and it will be nice not to be tied to someone else's routines. We aim to do a bit of home improvement, take Maggie the Collie for long walks and generally enjoy life.
Hope you and yours have a marvelous Christmas and lots of luck in the coming year.
