Dear Lynne,

Although I don't know you, being fairly knew to the site, I feel like I have become a part of the Sudoku family and, as such, feel the pain of other members' losses. I am so sorry to hear about your husband. At 59, he was much too young to leave this earth. Please know that there are many of us who are thinking of you and praying that your sorrow will be softened at least a bit by the love of friends and family.

Lynne, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband! A death at any age is difficult, but for someone so young it is even more difficult. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you struggle to deal with this blow. May you cherish and share the good memories with other family members!

Lynne, I'm sending you my heartfelt sympathy and wish somehow that words could ease your sadness. The loss of someone so young and dear to you is unthinkable and if there was some way I could walk alongside you in the days to come, I would. Know that you and Geoff's loved ones will be in my prayers tonight and that if you want to share thoughts, memories, feelings, many of us here will be honoured to support you through this painful time in any way we can. You are not alone in your sadness; you have many friends here with strong shoulders.

Dear Lynne, Like others I am fairly newish (6 months or so) but I sincerely want to add my condolences to those already here. I called on the Sudoku community for help when the 1st anniversary of my husband's death came up on 27/8/07. Please read the messages I was sent then, both on the puzzle page and My Page, as the words may bring you comfort as they did me. To lose someone at this time of life is especially tragic as you are probably on your own now and can think of nothing but loneliness ahead for a long time. It will get a bit better over time, believe me, but just take your time with your grief. Please send me a private message if I can help at all. My heart goes out to you.

Lynne, my heart goes out to you on Goeff's passing. I pray God will fould you in His arms and that your Sudoku family will help you face this hard time. My own dad passed on at 53 and knowing her world wide community of friends had her in their thoughts and prayers gave my mom strength. May this Sudoku community be such for you.

Lynne. I don't know you. You don't know me.I do know the gap that is there when another is gone.. Mother, brother, husband, father, friend (and previous generations!). I have suffered them all. Nothing can fill that gap, not even time, whatever they tell you. But, knowing that they are behind me,it helps me make good decisions and live a positive life for those who will follow me. Hope this helps you, too.

Just me again, Lynne, hoping you know I'm still thinking of you during these impossibly difficult days. I'm into the third week of mourning my mom and thank God every day for the many blessings she gave me; I'm thankful too, for the wonderful people on this site who somehow knew just the right things to say to comfort me. I hope you're surrounded by the love and strength of family and friends, people who'll be there when you need to talk, to cry, to tell your stories to. Perhaps across the miles, you'll feel the warmth of my hand in yours as we walk slowly forward together. Shoulder to shoulder, we'll get there.

Lynne, thank you for taking the trouble to respond to my note. I admire you for responding individually to each person who left a message with you. As you probably know, I was recently unwell and spent some time in hospital and Anne and I were overwhelmed by the number of people who expressed their love and support. I have not yet had the strength or the time to reply to them individually, which is why I admire your determination to respond to each of us. It inspires me to make the effort to go back over my messages and say thank you.
You and I are part of a remarkable community of loving, caring people and I treasure the connections I have formed.
I don't need a reply to this, I just wanted to thank you for your inspiration.

Lynne - how lovely to have a new baby in the family. I'm sure he will bring much joy, although it will be touched with a little sadness that Geoff didn't get to meet him. It seems to me that life is often balanced this way - a new baby is born to "compensate" for the loss of someone dear. May little Cooper enjoy a long and happy life. Congratulations to all.

Lynne, I'm thinking of you and hoping that you're finding boundless joy now that Cooper has come into your life. This will be a very tough Christmas as we go forward without those precious people at our holiday table. On the advice of a friend, I'll be setting a place for my mother; perhaps you might do the same for Geoff? I wish you a Christmas filled with peace and may you find time for quiet reflection. Bless you.
