I thought Shosho retired? For her, school doesn't start.
Here the kids are starting their 3rd week already. I don't think it's fair that they should have to be locked inside on beautiful summer days.

Heidi, I was at the school to 8:45-ish this morning, looks like my poor girl has recess or PE at 8:30 in the morning. I won't know until that woman sends her schedule home this afternoon.
Today, we had about 10 drops of rain and it has been overcast since then. It was nice outside, until those 10 drops fell, now it is very humid and muggy.

Realized another reason we need to sell this place and get into the new house soon. Started the packing thing about the end of May, which I started with Winter items, which means all jackets are at the back of our storage. Normally, we don't need jackets until the end of October, but with this strange weather, may need something sooner.

Hi Karen, we're (meaning my grandson and my friends but not me) are starting our third week of school. Already had the back to school night meeting where the teachers explain their year schedule to the parents (and grandma, in my case!)

The weather has not been particularly hot but the mugginess is what's making us miserable. With humidity 85% to 90% all day with the exception of afternoons where it drops to 45%! we're sticky in our clothes. I have taken to wearing a pareo in the morning. very comfortable. Thank heavens I'm retired and can get away with that!

My hubby has expressed a desire to have tacos for dinner. My take on that is to do a take out! I like that!

Dear Karen From Texas,
About a million years ago, I was that younger sister and was allowed to peek in through the school's window and see my older sister in kindergarten, playing with all the other 'big' kids, and having a wonderful time and I was very jealous. Just tell Thing II that if she eats all her spinach she too will soon be big enough to go to school also.

We had a taste of hurricane Isaac yesterday with torrential rain and high winds. We didn't get any blackouts (thank you Florida Power and Light) but they did interrupt the TV every few minutes to tell us about the threat of tornados. There was some flooding just outside our door, but I had nailed metal strips to the bottom of the doors on the outside (it scrapes whenever we open the doors)and the water didn't get inside.

Hope you're still high and dry, DotCom! So far, it seems that a lot of the predictions were somewhat overblown (pun intended. lol) I hope it stays that way!
Good luck!

Reply to comments about Neil Diamond, this will be my 4th concert. The first was in '76 the same year I got to see Elvis. I missed the concert here in Tulsa a few years back, Harry was in the hospital.

Keith, I often see the Volendam during our southern hemisphere summer as it comes into Port Chalmers where I live. It is wonderful to see the first cruise ship of the season as it really feels like summer is coming!

My little darling has been returned to me. As a good Momma, I asked how my girl's day went. It is a 17 minute drive, during which time my girl informed me that everyone talked and talked and talked and talked and talked, and that her and her best friend, were the only ones being quiet and all the teacher said, 'Get in your seats and be quiet.'
Man was waiting for his girls on the front porch, when we got home. His first question was, 'How was my First Grader's first day of school?' He got, 'It was fine.'

Yesterday in summary………

Easy - I’m powerless to say anything about today’s photo.

Kayo - Managed to beat the rest of the field but twasn’t easy with…

HalT - Hot on her heels

Vibrant Vici - Not sure what brand of coffee she is but managed to get her beloved number 5!

Maria - 1:56

GannieMo - Having a date with Melbourne between 13-19 October. Take cover, you lot, GannieMo is set to invade!

Mamacita – Nice to see you back on the site more often.

Kathy – Wants to be GannieMo’s excess baggage. There’s a limit as to how much one can take these days, you know. Gives us the answers to yesterday’s poozle.

Karen – Comes and goes in the blink of an eye. My goodness, that doesn’t happen very often.

Shosho – Thought she was going straight into a CP but…….

Aileen - Got in her way. Didn’t you see the STOP sign?

Shosho – She still managed a score and got Keith’s 22 then disappears in a cloud of dust before Keith appears.

Sarah Beth – Just a quick visit before she goes to Church.

Heidi – Considers herself in the right place for National Dog Day.

Rayray – Is busy editing but didn’t tell us what.

CG – Tries for a CP but…..

HalT - Keeps getting in his way. Now HalT has the job of taking us over to a new page. That must have been the hardest thing he’s done all day.

Jacalmi – Thanks Kate for plugging her in. What are you, a toaster or something?

Jane – Home from their Florida adventure with a few stops for Jamie on the way home. Hope he’s okay now.

CG – Offering anyone who goes to Ottawa his lap to sit on.

Heidi – So much for carting hay. You can’t do that when you’re fast asleep.

Kath – the land down under now awakens with Kath being the first to wake up.

Lonewoof – Looking forward to his holiday prize from winning Kathy’s poozle.

Amelia – Tulips from Amsterdam??

Sue – With an electrifying greeting.

CP – Has her CP interrupted by Sue and they then go on to chat between themselves, or by themselves, to fill in time.

Keith – Not fussy who he poses with!

Kate – Just popped in to check on her power supply.

Bean – With a quick hello and goodbye.

Peter – Gets on his soapbox about the man and the bear! I agree, some people just don’t listen.
Has a bit of a stir, what’s new, at Keith, CG and HalT then tells us all he’s a cutie. Goodness me, now we’ve heard everything!!!

Anne – Yes, I am about and things haven’t changed. She still can’t get that time right. Seems to find something funny to laugh at.

Colo Jim – Has just turned 96! Doing well for his age, ain’t he? Except he gets his times a bit mixed up.

CP – Not surprised she didn’t finish her nana nap if she was standing on her head.

Mr Cee – Got a free Neil Diamond concert way back last century by leaning over the balcony.

Chris – Makes a late visit.

Until then……….

Read very carefully!

The following was developed as a mental age assessment by the School of Psychiatry at Harvard University.
Take your time and see if you can read each line aloud without a mistake.
The average person over 45 years of age cannot do it!

1. This is this cat.
2. This is is cat.
3. This is how cat.
4. This is to cat.
5. This is keep cat.
6. This is an cat.
7. This is old cat.
8. This is f@rt cat.
9. This is busy cat.
10. This is for cat.
11. This is forty cat.
12. This is seconds cat.

Now go back and read the third word in each line from the top down.
