Good Maen Wolf and nite to Anne
Howdy to those coming in
off to Chicago for 'A beautiful noise' just wish I could just wiggle my nose and be in my seat ! -- having a strong desire to hop on the cross country train - hopefully a sleeper car and disappear for a bit

Wolf, Anne, Mary & everyone! Where's Denny & tom?
Cloudy.
There must be sunshine somewhere! I've always envied pilots - they get to see the sun every day at work! (Unless they fly the red eye flights!)

Sleeper train just to Chicago? I'd worry that I'd oversleep & end up visiting me in Michigan, Joyce in NY, Sarah in DC or Shosho in California! Second thought - maybe it'd be a great idea!

1:59. Good Morning Lucky. And Wolf, Anne, Mary, Shiela, and Denny and everyone who'll be heading this way. Nearly seven decades ago, when my Dad was transferred to Toronto, we travellled cross country on the transcontinental 'Canadian', complete with observation car, drawing rooms and white linen and Sterling silver cutlery in the dining car. All male passengers (including this 8 year old boy, as I recall) wore jackets and ties, and my mother sister wore their 'Sunday best' for the duration. Because, I suppose, it was 'just what one did'... it all seems impossible to contemplate now...🤷‍♂️

And seven decades ago, Tom, I wore a dotted Swiss dress, patent leather shoes, and white gloves to Sunday School! Where has the decorum gone?

everyone!!
Golly I remember when I first started teaching five decades ago, female teachers had to wear dresses or skirts, no pants allowed! Imagine trying to teach kindergarten class , no sitting on the floor with them, and yes back then we had to give them nap time!

Morning everyone .
Tom I remember my father having a word to hubby for wearing jeans to Newcastle to do shopping instead of a suit. I much prefer the casual look these days.

Good morning all! Just in time for 13.
We had a monster thunder storm last night not long after I had gone to bed. It was very close and lightening and thunder just about went off together and I could see the flashes above my curtains. I didn't end up getting much sleep although I do like thunder storms.

Damn, I've lost my Smilies.

Mornin'all. Keep smilin'.

My mum told me about all the funny clothes you old people used to wear. And Judy at Sunday school, waste of time and hard to believe.

That would have been when you were dressed in knickerbockers Peter.
We used to have a family lived opposite who every Sunday they washed their car, had a traditional Sunday lunch and then dressed up for a Sunday drive in their immaculate clothes sitting in their immaculate car. We thought they were posh.

No smilies, no jigsaws, and, reportedly no ads.... maybe there is a connection.
