I do try to be happy and useful.
Friend was much brighter last night. The fluid was still draining from her lung. She may be home today but not sure.
Sorry Suzie, I did not mean to upset you, being one of the people who have met my friend several times.

Hi, All! Just popping in before an appointment, so not much time.

Suzy, so glad to hear that Dana's new BF is an improvement! Hope all is well with your family, including Dimmi!

Broni, I hope the job is going well! As far as I'm concerned, you can say whatever you want about accountants (unless anyone here is one, of course). Great video, but felt sorry for the dog and the people shooting the video who were laughing.

Tami, good luck with the new student! Hope they are all working hard on their assignments!

Brenda, hope your new bedroom is finally complete before it becomes old!

Heidi, so glad to hear that the ear specialist is pleased with your progress. Keep those antibiotics and ear drops going until the infection is truly gone! Great idea to get a shed for the house! Hope the closing proceeds perfectly!

MizT, I hope you have had a chance at a nap today! It can make such a difference!

Theresa, hoping the day stays cooler than expected. Sorry about the humidity! (We have it here, too. My hair is curling inspite of too much "extra hold" hair spray after "fixing" it this morning.

Gotta run. Will probably see you MUCH later. Take care!

Julie, I don't even attempt to do anything to my hair over the summer. With the humidity in Florida, my hair would be a frizzy mess.

Students are doing well, so far. Number 4 starts on Monday. Others are doing well. One does not want to be there, one needs extra help, and my only female student is the best and brightest. She is working at her own pace and just finished chapter 2. She will take the test tomorrow, and I am sure she will get an A. (Suzy, she shares a name with one of your girls)

Hi Tami, June and Theresa...Glad to share the top of the page with you...I'm usually near the lower part, never, it seems in position for a topps...which is good since I have yet to find a great quote...The ones that you guys have come up with have been just great...
June, I'm so glad to know that anything I have said has helped you to find some peace...that makes me feel like I just hit the lottery. I do want so much to help where I can and it really does make me happy, both to share and to learn that others got it too. Peace to all of us.

Mamacita, you have a wonderful way with words. Your as beautiful in person, as you are in writing. I know my life is richer for knowing you. You must let me know the next time you are coming down here so we can meet again.

I am lucky enough to live near Mamacita's son, so she comes this way occasionally.

Just finished painting puzzle pieces for arts and crafts. Tomorrow we will glue them to a picture frame and put a picture in it. It will be a father's day gift for my "camper" to give his dad.

Today the world sees Canada's shameful riots in Vancouver last night after they lost the last game for the Stanley Cup. It's only a game, people. Fires, looting, property destruction, injuries. Apparently there is a FB page about it, with pictures, so a lot of people WILL be charged.

Heidi, I don't understand the mentality - there was over $1 million in property damage. So far 100 people have been arrested.

Morning all,
I am so lucky to know all of you people! I am the bad guy at home again - the only one who remembers what she is capable of. Despite reminding Dana several times to return the black cardigan of Alie's she 'borrowed' there is no sign of it. I'll have to be the bad guy on that one too.

What a clever picture, Suzy. That a photographer could capture that in the midst of a riot is amazing. Of course the fact that the couple is right there doing that is also amazing.

Well. I am soon off to bed as tomorrow will be a busy and loooong day. Hugs to all, I have an infinite supply.

My friend Sue, who was suppose to have flown home yesterday (1.00pm), for some reason other than volacano ash, the plane was cancelled (around 5.00pm)..
A Lonnng Day at the airport for her. While she was waiting for her flight (delayed 2 hours at the time) she rung me, we had a long (40 mins) discussion, mainly about her dad, he is close to going to Hospice and staying, at the stage where he is unable to be home alone.
Last night, around 8.00pm, my mobile goes off, and I said to the fellas, oh that will be Sue, landed in Sydney. It was Sue, to tell me that she was back at Dad's. So another long conversation... telling me of the drama after she and I spoke on the phone. In the end she got her airfare refunded. There was a chance she could be on a late flight this afternoon, arriving curfew time in Sydney, then she would have to travel up to the Central coast.. way too late!!!
She wanted to be home for Sunday, her #1's birthday, she is not going to be there. She is now staying till next Thursday, when her brother flies in from the mines (where he works).
Theory being that if someone is home to look after Dad, he will not have to be in Hospice.

Poor Suzy. I'm sorry that everyone has such short memories. We remember what she's capable of. You will have to be the bad guy and firmly enforce rules, or it will turn into a nightmare again.

Hubby just rang to tell me that we had a minor earth tremor at home. The neighbour told us about one a couple of weeks ago.
Hubby wondered what #1 was doing and why all the cupboards were rattling when #1 came up and asked "What was that?" while the dog just kept snoozing in the sun. Lots of other dogs were barking frantically but not my "laid back and let the world go by" dog.

Rolanda, #1 son starts work on Monday. He has chosen to only work 4 days per week but has been offered full time. He'll think about it. I would think that if you were saving up to go overseas that you would want to earn as much as possible. Silly mum!

Oops! It's much later than I expected to get back for a late visit. I must admit, it's because of the eagles. While I was having a busy day and evening (3rd meeting in 3 days), all 3 eaglets in Decorah "branched" for the first time. (Instead of just flapping wings and hovering over the nest, all 3 of them flew a short distance from the nest out to one of the tree branches. At last check, all 3 were still out on the branches and hadn't come back to the nest. A very exciting day!

Theresa, I like your TOPP! I'm not sure how useful I am, but my friends here at SA all make me happy! {{{HUGS}}} I saw on the news about rioting in Vancouver, but didn't have time to get the whole story. How disgraceful that it was over a silly sports trophy!

June, thinking positive thoughts for your friend and hoping the draining continues to make her more comfortable!

Suzy, it's so unfortunate that you need to be the bad guy! Hopefully all will be straightened out and possessions will be with their rightful owners! I always have had to be the bad guy and resented it. D's even return phone calls and emails more promptly to hubby than to me. (At least, it seems that way.)

Rolanda, a very trying time for your friend! All the best to her and her Dad! Good luck to S#2 in his job search!

Vicki, I hope S#1 enjoys his new job and considers making it full time!

Broni, I'm sure you did extremely well at the new job! Enjoy the weekend! You deserve it!

Heidi, I hope all goes well at your closing!

I really need to get to bed, but hope to see you all tomorrow! Prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts and for everyone! Take care!

The Dalai Lama recalled a conversation he once had with Britain's Queen Mother to illustrate that meaningful change is possible.
He said he told her she had lived for almost a century and asked her whether in that time the world had gotten better, worse, or stayed the same.
"She responded to me: better. She mentioned the concept of human rights and the concept of self-determination," the Dalai Lama said.
"When she was young, those things were not mentioned. Now they are universal."

Nearly all the fluid is out of the lungs. Such a big improvement. Pain now manageable with the medication. Chatting away and instructing the staff how to run the hospital. She was woken at 1.30am by someone who thought they should take blood. All unnecessary and she has been putting in complaints as high up as she can go!
I have Laura tonight as she goes to netball training in the morning. Her last one and her mother is very disappointed that she cannot be there.
Julie, I wish I had more time to watch the eagles. There were two on a branch when I just looked.

Suzy ((HUGS))if this is just about the cardigan she has borrowed from Alie, then let it be Alie's problem to get it back. If she took it without asking, it isn't your problem let them see what she is doing again. Don't make yourself ill, she will soon show herself in her true colours to the rest of the family again.
