As I go through all kinds of feelings and experiences in my journey through life -- delight, surprise, chagrin, dismay -- I hold this question as a guiding light: "What do I really need right now to be happy?" What I come to over and over again is that only qualities as vast and deep as love, connection and kindness will really make me happy in any sort of enduring way.

Good top Theresa,
Hope the aches soon go away Mamacita. Not nice to hit your head. Actually your post reminded me why I have a few small aches. I also took a tumble yesterday. Stood on a loose tarp with one foot and caught part of the tarp with the other foot. I landed face down, luckily onto grass!

Mama, I'd offer a rub but I don't think it's appropriate in this case!
Gentle hugs instead xo

Morning all,
Great topp Theresa!

Mamacita and June, I hope you both feel better soon after your tumbles! I wish for the days when tumbles hurt our pride more than out bodies.

The party went well, small and quiet. We still have one left. A boy. When we commented on a boy coming, Alie said, it's only C, he doesn't count! Apparently one of the other girls said the same to her parents. Now we want to know why he doesn't count?? Or do we??

I've uploaded a picture of the tree that lost the branch that was on the ground - it's in the middle of losing another one! As we have big winds in the forecast on and off for another week, we won't be parking underneath it!! There's a reason they call these trees 'widow makers'...

What a beautiful ghost gum(?). Up here we only have gums with very boring bark, they don't strip or anything, although just down the road they have stands of ghost gums which shed their bark to reveal the whitest new bark, spectacular.

Thank you Gail, it is one of the few trees we have left and I don't want to lose it, though we are - one branch at a time. Did you notice the branch hanging down???

Good morniing friends, hope you're all having a good day.
Went to the Farmer's Market this morning - man it's cold out there! (I mean comparatively cold, for us whimpy Aussies!) :D

Had a stormy afternoon and evening here, but all the t storms and rain are now gone. Although it did not rain the entire time here, we could hear the thunder all around us. Humidity was extremely high today, making the feels like temp in the "heat advisory" category. I did not go outside today.

Judy I could give you about 20-25 degrees of heat, if you can come pick it up.

Suzy, glad the party went well. Do you think a teenage boy would pretend to be g@y just to get invited to the girls' sleep overs? Naw, never, no way. Lovely tree, and yep, could see the limb hanging on by a thread.

Mama and June, do hope that each of you soon feel much better after your falls. Mama, if your pain keeps up, perhaps you need an X ray. I once fell on my behind so hard, it fractured my pubic bone. All those bones are connected you know.

I have read the previous page, but forgotten what I read, so I will say good night. Hugs to each of you, with a big basket of extras. Have to do till I win the lottery and can come round giving hugs in person hehehe.

MizT, that's what one of the mothers said she told her daughter!! He doesn't seem that way at all... note me not wanting to get booted off SA?

June, does friend know we know? I wasn't sure how to respond to a comment she made on the other page...

Good Evening, One and All!

Fabulous TOPP, Heidi! Excellent quote, and one that made us laugh!

Great photos, June! I imagine Laura was thrilled! Thinking of you and your friend! I hope it was a good weekend!

Broni, I like your quote as well! I hope you're not too tired or sore! Thinking of you and Poss!

Yumm, Heidi! I love the smell of bread baking! Unfortunately, I don't make it. Well, maybe I should say "fortunately" because I also love the TASTE of homemade bread!

Suzy, I wanted to "Like" your comment about pigs singing in Charlotte's Web.

Judy, it's not fun having a medical issue in a "foreign country," as you found out. The good thing is that you can tell about it now and remain in good spirits!

On our first trip out of the U.S. (to Europe) a few years ago, upon arrival at our first hotel hubby had some hemorrhaging. We told our tour leader, who went with us to the desk. The hotel clerk called for a cab to take us to the hospital. It was about 7 p.m. on a Sunday night. The cab dropped us off at the front door. We went inside to basically an empty lobby and many closed doors. We were in Austria and didn't read or speak a word, other than Danke and Bitte. Very frightening. Finally found a door that seemed promising. (We'd been turned away from several - ENT and orthopedic.) Luckily they weren't too concerned about the form I had filled out incorrectly and found a doctor who spoke some English. He spent 3 or 4 days in the hospital, and the tour group had moved on. The doctor sent us straight back home, so we never got to see anything other than the hotel and the hospital in Vienna.

June, I hope your dinner with friends was fun and relaxing! How is your back today?

Gail, I hope the celebration of your friend's 50th was a special celebration!

Suzy, what a good idea to just have a movie-watching party, rather than camping out. Happy Birthday, Alie!

Theresa, I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better! Hopefully the doctor's office called back today!

Mamacita, what an unfortunate fall! I hope you are feeling much better now! Remember to take care of yourself and pamper yourself until you are feeling better! {{{HUGS}}}

Suzy, she knows the ones on SA know but not general knowledge on easy. She was working on the 'farm' today when we went up to Belinda's to pick up Laura. Now that there is some improvement with the lymphoedema she is looking a lot better. I did read the comments on the other page.

It is horribly hot here today aslo, Heidi. The dew point is 77, I do not remember seeing it that high. Temp is 89, but the feels like is 101, 12 degrees hotter, that too is unusual. Last night, all my windows had condensation on the outside. That happens when the inside temp is lower than the dew point.

I just got some sad news. My Dad's brother, my only uncle on that side of family, died over a month ago, and noone thought to let any of our family know about it. This after a month long hospital stay. In two months his second wife or none of the cousins thought to pick up a phone, or e-mail us? Since my Dad died over 30 years ago, we had not been close, but one of my sisters did keep in touch. His wife had not put obituary in the papers, we would have seen that. What a shame.

I have a prayer request. My FIL is having surgery Monday morning. I am not sure of all the details. All I know is it is classified as spinal surgery and will be up near the neck. If you could keep Marty in your thoughts I would appreciate it.

Morning all,
Thoughts and wishes for your FIL Tami.

Birthday wishes to Bernie..

Heidi, I wish I had chronic fatigue as an excuse, I'm just lazy!

MizT, I'm so sorry for your loss and the way you found out about it! I know if something happened to my brother I would find out from a friend on the street rather than my SIL...

Your weather sounds miserable. I won't complain about the cold here. Our dew point is -0.1C, temp is 9C, feels like 1C. Very cold for me, but not compared to what some of you get!

I posted earlier, Wishing Tami's FIL good results andd a speedy recovery from his surgery. It did not go through.

Suzy, that is cold for Oz, hope you are able to stay in near the heater and stay warm.

T showers still rumbling nearby, it is cooler outside, the house returned to nice and comfy. Hope the forecast for cooler weather the first of the week is accurate.

OK.... a new IH story. His truck just got a flat tire. I told him to change it. He started yelling at me about how difficult it is, and how he wanted to take the truck into the nearest service station for them to change it for him. He was furious that I suggested doing it differently. So I backed off and let the idiot do it his way. He wanted me to follow him to the service station and give him a ride home. So he drove down the driveway and off to the station WITH A FLAT TIRE, with me following. He got 2 1/2 miles down the road before smoke started billowing out of the remains of the tire. So he pulled into someone's front lawn and left the truck there. He now plans on calling a wrecker since the truck isn't drivable as is. He STILL refuses to change the tire.

Keep in mind... if he had listened to me and done it my way, it would have cost him $5 to get the flat fixed. His way, he lost a $200 tire and has to pay somebody to drive out and do the tire change for him.

If the flat tire is at home, I don't even need a jack. I use the front end loader on the tractor to lift the truck.

Tami, thoughts and prayers for the love and good will of God to follow his op and recovery period.
MizT, Its always sad to lose family even when not close. It would have been nice had you been told, but things don't always work out when we lose touch with each other. Condolences.
I will be seeing two doctors tomorrow and am still in lots of pain, but I don't believe anything is broken...simply badly bruised.Time most likely is what I need to fully recover.
Sending good wishes to all and thoughts and prayers, hugs and good vibes also available! Peace.

I have to admit to never having changed a tire. I know how to do it and would have tried if I'd been Gil, but it would be a first for me.

MizT, no such luck. I have a lot of ytrid clothes to take care of since I didn't get to do them on the weekend.. One trip out to the line already and I've put my dressing gown on to warm up - it's such a heavy gown that most of the time it's not cold enough to wear it...
