After spending a few hours with Mum yesterday during the day, we were then called up there at 9.30pm, the RN thought her time was near. My sister and I went up and when we got there could understand the nurse's reasons for calling us. She looked like she wouldn't last the next 5 minutes. We sat with her, talking and holding her hand, in comfy recliner chairs until 4am, by which time she was more peaceful. Home now, had about 1 hour's sleep in small doses, Mum is still going - but for how long?

Rolanda. Lets hope the house is sold this time.
Suzy. Are you just a little bit excited about being a Grandmother? I hope all works out well what ever you decide about whether Dana can live with you under your conditions.Good luck!!
MizT. Oh your kitty is a character.Love reading your posts.
Tami.Have a wonderful 1st day preparing your classroom.Make it extra special.
I have really got stuck into cleaning up the garden which had been sadly neglected the last 18mths.So far,I have found 2 snake skins which has given me the creeps.I hate snakes.Have also started to repaint inside the pantry.Renae started it while we were away but I will have to finish it.
Woke up to a very foggy day.Think that means it will be a warm one.
Catch up later.

Had a very interesting day today. Drove to school thinking I was a math teacher. Get there, go to sign out my classroom keys and they have me in a different room and it says science. I go over to the principal and she says that she had to move me to science. I asked her if that was a wise choice and told her I thought the Earth was flat and that the sun revolved around the earth. She laughed and told me I would be fine. The science department head is a friend of mine and told me she would hold my hand for the year. We were talking about keeping my room and friend suggested I move to the science building so I would be closer to her and could do labs. I was going to switch with Mr. Matthews. Matthews taught science last year and was going to teach social studies this year. He is staying in his room and teaching science and I get to keep my room and will teach social studies. I get to teach all about ancient civilizations. This is going to be an interesting year.

This is mystical and deep. Truly beautiful...
A man asked a native American what was his wife's name.
He replied, "She called Five Horses"..

The man said, "That's an unusual name for your wife.
What does it mean?"

The Old Indian answered, "It old Indian Name. It mean...

N A G, N A G, N A G, N A G, N A G!

Rolanda, I hope the sale is a go, for your price.

Tami, all science classes here are held in labs as at least 50% of all lessons are supposed to be practicals..

A little while ago, there was a plane crash a half mile from Lincoln's birthplace (6 miles from here). It was a private plane with 3 people in it, 2 parents and their small son. Robert was one of the first people on the scene and he climbed in the wreckage, with airplane fuel pouring out, and helped pull all 3 people to safety. All are alive! They were airlifted to the trauma hospital in Louisville. I'm so proud to know Robert. He's a good guy.

Heidi, Robert sounds like a really great guy to know. Let him know that I appreciate what he did. It is nice to know there are still people in this world that care about others.

Suzy, I wish science was more labs. I don't know what the percentage is here, but I know it is nowhere near 50%

Wow, way to go Robert. I certainly hope he gets some kind of medal or award for putting his life on the line to save those people. If the world had more "Roberts" it would be a far better place. Please thank him for me also.

Robert will get no award or acclaim from anybody. He never does. I'll wait to see if our local paper mentions him, but I don't think they will. Robert helps people but never stays around to get any thanks.

Greetings, Everyone!

We're currently having little time to get on the internet. Hopefully that will improve in a week or so. We are baby-sitting/providing child care for grandies currently and will have a lot of catching up to do when that ends.

Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to all and wishes that all of you are finding peace and happiness in your lives!

Well, if the locals there do not give him an award, I think we should give him a cyber award of some kind! Very heroic thing to do! Thanks for letting us know. I could not see the video, got message that the page was not available. Bummer. No spaces that I could find either. Oh well. So happy that family survived and hope they recover from injuries soon.

Julie, glad you do find time to drop in so we know you are OK. But babysitting grandies, not sure just how OK you may be hehehe.

Cyn, that had to be a long night with your Mom. I hope you do not have others like that. Hugs to you, and wishing you a good nights sleep tonight.

Why do all men think their wives nag? If they would just do what we ask the first time . . .

Hugs to each of you, with extras. I am off to bed, will check in again tomorrow.

I posted earlier that we are going to a show tonight - Hubby, Alie and I. Hubby just sent me a text asking if he should give his ticket to Dana! I told him NO, she made her choice and she has to live with the consequences. Was I too harsh?

Suzy - your hubby is a softie! I tend to agree with you.
Been with Mum (and my sister) since early afternoon. I don't know how she is still going. We're taking it in shifts tonight - tomorrow is a public holiday here, so no-one has to work. My brother and his wife are there now until midnight, then my sister and her husband until 4am, then Col and I until someone can relieve us in the morning.
Please give your thoughts and prayers for her to pass peacefully during tonight - I never thought I'd say that, but it's so, so sad to see her like this.
I can't deal with FB, off to watch some TV while Col cooks me dinner - just sausages and mash but I'm not cooking so I'll enjoy it.

Cyn ((HUGS)) to you and your family.
Suzy, let her buy her own ticket if she wants to go. She decided she wants to be independent.
My youngest always wanted to be treated as an adult when she was a teenager, now she is finding out that being an adult is not all it seems. She is finding out how expensive it is being adult, having to pay for her eye tests, dental treatment etc. They are just small things, she hasn't found out about all the taxes we pay for owning our own home and just how much it actually costs to run a homeas we pay for all that.

Howdy all, back in the land of the living...just! That is if 'zombie' is living???
Our weekend was full on, but a lot of fun. After hubby treated on Friday arvo, we headed off at sparrow's f*rt (very early) Saturday morning, drove for 9 hours, booked in to our motel, freshened up and went straight down to spend a bit of time with Bill, and his friend Valerie. We didn't have long, time for a cuppa and cake, then we had to leave to get to our friends' place for dinner. We had a lovely evening, good food, great company, then back to the motel for the night.
Next day was hubby's family get together, always wonderful to see the outlaws. So far, the hosts have been in order of placing in the line, so this time it was his sister Peta, 4th in line, so of course, we knew we would be in two years, as hubby is 6th in line...not so! His next brother up and his youngest brother are in cahoots and they are going to join forces and host it in two years, so that makes it us, NEXT YEAR! EEEEK!
We also had time to drop in briefly to see my brother on the way back to the motel, then we left very early again yesterday morning, arriving home at around 4pm.
I'm exhausted!
