Rolanda - sad news on both sides of your family. My Mum's name is Jean - as was Col's Mum's name.
Suzy - glad you got to talk to Dana - and what a nice idea to finish on a positive note for both of you by buying something for baby.

Rolanda, sorry to hear about your elderly relatives, but how true that life goes on with the engagement of you Godson.
Wonderful to see Mariana. Hope you can pop in more often.
Laura loved her lobster lunch. Not a scrap left. All the adults had tears as Steve read out the card birthday Sharon had written for Laura two days before she died. Laura took it in her stride, but then she had just opened the camera that Sharon and I had bought for her. I think the card will mean a lot to her in years to come when she realises what the words meant.
She did tell Belinda latter in the day "I wish Mummy was here so I could take her photo with my new camera".
Suzy, a hard time. Well handled for both your own Peace of mind and the welfare of your future grand child.
Hugs to everyone else. It has been a hard day and I am off to bed.

Rolanda, thoughts going out to you and Peter on the loss of your aunts. Good luck on the open house.

Cyn, hoping the end is peaceful for your mum.

Suzy, it is good you got to say some of what you wanted to Dana and also probably good that you did not say everything. Remember we are here for you when you need us.

Rolanda, Sending condolences to the family ...may Tante Annie R.I.P.
Suzy...Yea!!! You are making progress...good for you and Hubby in setting your terms in a supportive, non-ownership way. Glad you were able to share some of your feelings along the way with Dana.
Gail, Please extend birthday greetings to Mr. Gail for me...and apologies for them coming late.
Nola...Good to hear Greg's good news...hope the headaches soon abate. Sometimes worry makes a difference and simply knowing that he is okay will help the headaches to fade.
Broni...What a bad period you have been having...but no worries...a change is on the way...Hang on girl!
Theresa.. Hoping this is a good day for you...keep moving forward..you will get there soon.
Marianne...So good to see you pop in and hope you do it again real soon...
Okay Ladies,....Go forth in peace and good will...until we meet again...

Morning all,
Broni, wishing a better day for you!

June, what a bittersweet celebration. And how like Sharon to think of the future with her card... {{{HUGS}}}

Rolanda, sorry to hear you lost 2 aunts/great aunts in one day! {{{hugs}}}

Heidi, Robert can't win a trick can he?

One thing I didn't do yesterday was ask Dana if she wanted to move home. I'm not ready/couldn't cope with that yet. If we ever make that offer I want to be sure that I'm not going to blurt out something horrible.

Alie is home sick today. She has a slight fever (101.7) and I'm sure it's her tonsils. She did a terrible job with her antibiotics! We'd put them in front of her, ask her if she'd taken them, everything but shove them down her throat! Well to the doc today and I hope he gives her a needle and that she learns from that..

Just got a call from hubby. He spent all weekend, including most of last night, working on a baseball presentation thing - they asked him even though we don't play anymore. And now they may not even show it to the minister they are showing around the field!!!

We have a thoroughbred in the back paddock at the moment. I think he desperately wants in to the house yard and has been pacing back and forth all morning! Almost trotting back and forth actually. I took pity on him and took up some bread for him and the old lady. It was funny because the old lady - in the house yard - kept trying to cut me off so I couldn't get all the way up the back!! I can't see the thoroughbred anymore so he must have settled a little. I hope so poor bugger... Sad story about why he is here. His owner (daughter of the lady who owns the other 2 horses) got herself a serious boyfriend and lost interest in riding him. He got so out of condition that her mother told her off in a big way, including telling her that the RSPCA would be called if something wasn't done. 'Alright Mum, when boyfriend goes away I'll ride him then'. But she made the mistake of telling mutual friends that she only told her mother that to shut her up. I got an earful of what she was told after that!! It's a wonder I didn't hear it from here. Anyway, down here he is fed twice a day and has company...

Suzy, what a nice thing you did for the horse. I agree about asking Dana to move back home. Make sure you are ready to ask, and be prepared for her answer. She may still think she can make it by herself. I am sure at some point she will realize she needs you.

Also, Suzy, if she moves back home, it needs to be with very strict ground rules. No free passes.... if she thinks she's an adult now, she'll have to help pay for food and utilities, and do a fair share of the work. It's up to you if she pays rent. She needs to learn that being a grown-up means that you have a lot more responsibilities, not less. And consideration for others is a sign of maturity.

Hi all, I'm back from holiday (actually have been back a couple of days but have been busy sorting gnihsaw. Don't know why we get through more clothing while we are away than a normal week.
The area we were in whilst on holiday had terrible internet/phone signals which is why I haven't been posting much whilst away.
Having caught up with reading ((HUGS)) to those who have had sadness in their lives.
Theresa you are doing well with quitting smoking keep up the good work.
June, hope you and Ken can have a little time away soon you need it. I know that your MIL's visit has been planned for a long time.
Broni, hope you get to enjoy the boat this year after all the hard work you have put into getting her ready.
It's nice to see some old faces posting again.
Thanks for the concern over the problems we encountered in England last week. Fortunately for us we didn't see or were affected by it. The nearest riot/looting to where I live was about 15 miles away.
I've lost my train of thought and who I wanted to comment to/about. ((HUGS)) to everyone.

Woke up this morning first by IH, who was yelling at me that the phone extension I installed in the horse barn was off the hook, since he couldn't make a phone call. I checked, only to discover that he was trying to call with a phone that he had unplugged. I went back to sleep, only to have the dogs tell me that we had a visitor. I have a sign out front offering 2 horses for sale (they're horses I don't fool with), and a nice young man stopped by to see them. I think he's very interested in Flash. He was crazy about all the horses, and they liked him.

Heidi, hope you find a good home for Flash. Sorry you had to get up early though. I suppose it never occurred to Gil to check the phone in the barn? Since he KNEW that was the problem hehehe. Much easier to wake you to take care of it.

Today is back to school for children in our county. Next county North, were Montevallo is located, started Thursday.

Being first day of school, the temps dropped overnight into mid 60's and the humidity is very low. gives it that hint of autumn feeling.

I sat out on back porch, trying to read, but sun is low enough it came in under the porch roof and right in my eyes. Kept me from reading and sun was warm, air was cool.

Tami, hope you have a good day at school. thanks for the coffee, nothing like that first cup of the day.

June, hope you are sleeping soundly, and wake rested and refreshed. It was an emotional weekend for the family.

VIV, how kind of you to take on the hemming of trousers. Not a favorite thing for me now, with the thumb, but I was able to repair a hem on a pair of my pants recently. I think after 16 months, thumb is regaining some function, yeah!

My kitchen smells good! I took advantage of the cooler temps and my being up earlier today to back some blueberry muffins. OK, so they are from a mix, they still will be good for my breakfast several mornings.

Kitty has been sticking with me this morning, instead of sleeping with AL. When I was reading, she was in my lap. When I was baking, she was underfoot, hoping I would drop kitty bites. Now, she is on top of my computer tower, sleeping away. she has not come to supervise me on the computer in ages. She very swiftly removed papers I had thoughtlessly left on her sleeping place hehehe.

Time for my breakfast. Come join me if you can. Sending hugs to each of you, with extras. Till later.
