I don't care what they did to the sperm donor maybe he deserved it, maybe he didn't, but threatening a pregnant girl is just not on!
I do hope she and the baby are fine - and safe!!

Apparently the police agree with you Cyn. They wouldn't even come when he called them. Dana had to call.

okay she's gone and I found a way to say it wouldn't have happened if she'd been standing with someone else.

Just grinning to myself about life. Got one who can be total B but has the potential to do great things with her life, and one who has already messed hers up, though with hope for the future too. My own life feels like it's on hold waiting for schools to call. Hubby is the only stable thing in my life. Thank goodness for him!!!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Suzy, glad that Dana is OK but I agree, it would not have happened if she was with someone else. I hope things get better for you. At least you have hubby to be stable for you.

Julie, I love Red Robin. The closest one to me is 2 hours away, on the west coast.

Tricia, hope you get your computer working soon. At least you have one to visit us with. I miss you when you are not on-line.

Suzanne, unfortunately if you have not heard about the house yet, you probably won't. Glad there is some communication with Melanie. Hope things work out.

Late for me. Thank you for your thoughts Tami. I keep thinking maybe I'm a bit of a snob, but these things aren't happening to my friends' kids. She got a ride home from town with Don and stayed for ages - talking the whole time. She eventually went home, then came back again! Don had sent her a text telling her to come over for left over chicken wings so she did, plus a few glasses of milk. And talked nonstop between bites and gulps. He had already gone to bed..

I have been trying to enjoy my peace but now she's texting me!! I'm being very very patient because I know she's had a huge scare, but AAAAAHHHHH!! I know, quit my whining, it's a mother's job. If I could just get her to listen and stay away from the sperm donor and that whole crowd!! It's so frustrating!

Suzy may be you will have to try getting the first word in, when she next comes over, and talk about you all the time not letting her reply. Even if you have to babble on about nothing. Just remember I have one just like her(only not pregnant)so I do know what you are going through.

Suzy..... Could you be up front with Dana and just tell her that you'd like less talking and babbling? Maybe she's clueless enough not to realize she's doing it. And I agree.... the incident wouldn't have happened if she was with someone else.

Had a lovely lunch yesterday but came home and we both had a sleep. It is a bit of a hot night so now I am awake!
Oh! Suzy. We love our kids but they do drive us to distraction! All the talking is probably an unconscious cover up as she is torn between two worlds. Hang in there girl!
So pleased she is OK.

Morning all - I can tell I've got some catching up to do.

Things are hectic here. MIL's pacemaker malfunctioned and her heart stopped again. Once again the paddles brought her back. We spent the weekend visiting her and rearranging her living space. Her bedroom is now downstairs in what used to be the poolroom.

We don't know yet if MIL will be coming home - she is unable to walk. Everything is up in the air. If she doesn't come home, we are hoping the bedroom downstairs will encourage my FIL to use it.

Dakota is wearing an Elizabethan collar. Her tongue is slowly healing. Poor doggy.

Gotta run for now. Hope to be back later to read some more. Take care all.

I am getting tired of the rain. I want to hook up Challenger and go for a drive, and it's just not happening. He hasn't been out since the parade on Nov. 4th.

I was looking through smooth collie pictures on the interwebs, and I was startled to discover one of my dogs in the public domain. The picture is of my Misty, full name CH My Friend's Grey Agate HC, taken on her first birthday on August 16, 1984. => <=

Hi all. Strange day at work today. Tomorrow starts a county-wide test week. We had a dry run today so the kids would know what room to report to. I go to my assigned testing spot and no kids showed up. I was supposed to test another teacher's 3rd period, and that is her planning period. They figured it out and sent a different group of kids. Problem 1 solved. The bell rings and I go back to my room and I can't get my key in the door. I opened it earlier but not now. Someone had jammed something in the lock and my key was NOT broken. Maintenance finally got it out. Not sure if it was a "practical joke" or if someone had tried to break into my room. I run a computer lab so the 2nd choice is scarier. 30 laptops at $1000 each is serious money. At least there was no 3rd problem. I am now sitting at the pooter, playing games and enjoying a glass of wine. I think I deserve it.

Good mAen everyone!
Suzy: So sorry to hear what happened with Dana. I hope she & the baby are ok...Maybe this is a wake-up call for her to stay away from him. I will keep good thoughts for you folks.

Hi/Bye Heidi!
Hi also to Julie, Brenda, TTT, Theresa, CynB, Gail (gaul???!?) and MizT. Hope I got everyone.

Keeping the door open with Melanie. She's been working on finishing this semester, so hopefully we'll have contact soon. I would really like that.

For all those on Farmville on Facebook, my frustration level with the game has reached its peak. I will NOT be on Farmville anymore. For those of you who sent gifts & helped on my farms, thank you much.

I think that's all for now, take care all. TTFN

Hi All.
Oh I need to change my avatar but don't have any good ones and have forgotten the good spots to find some....ah well...some other time.
Suzy...your job as a mom with two very different girl teens is as tough as it gets...things do change generally...hopefully for the better, so just keep on doing the best you know how and don't look back and start questioning yourself....When you do your best to try to raise children well, you should not feel guilt when you try to lead them in proven socially acceptable ways. That's your job as a parent... You do have good instincts, continue to follow them. Glad nothing more happened and that D is okay...the idea of letting her know about the chatter is a good idea if spoken with the right tone...non critical or jugemental manner , and during a stress free time, may help. She really may just be scared and trying not to show it, or clueless...let her know you aren't the one to fear, and that there is hope for good things to happen in life...The baby is the beginning of getting started building dreams that will include this wonderful gift that is being entrusted to her..good luck.
Hoping all all well or doing better...Thersa, special healing vibes and prayers coming your way for you and your extended family. Life can be such a challenge. Peace!

Honey I'm home. In the theme of it's never boring here, I've just taken Alie to the doc on her way to school. (scheduled not emergency) Had brekkie together on the way there - noice.

Tami, that was a bit scary. I'm going to go with joke because it's less scary than the alternative. Another gem you've just reminded me of. Earlier this year the high school was broken into with all of the school's guitars stolen, along with a bunch of other stuff. Turned out the thieves were Three and his brother. They were dobbed in, the school got all their stuff back, and that is why the police wouldn't come initially yesterday - Three is on parole and known to them. Aren't you jealous??

OK.... let me get this straight. Dana thought to herself.." Who do I want to chose as the best possible candidate to father my child?" and the best she could come up with was Three? This is the person who will support the child and act as a role model? And his entire family is as bad as he is! Suzy, how could you ever be so lucky?

One of my brothers has 2 great girls, not perfect, but doing the important stuff right. The other has 3 boys. I don't know what's happening with the eldest but the other 2 make Three look good.

Hi all - just been to do more Christmas shopping, got a bit done but not all I wanted. Scorching hot here today. My car was parked in the shade, under a tree, and when I went back to it and started it, the ambient temp was 33C - so out in the sun would have been 36C. Drove eastward toward the bay where I live and temp dropped to 31C. Still turned on the air con!
We must be in for a storm any day now! Nothing showing on the radar yet.

Suzanne - I have gradually given up on all the games. Some got me hooked so much that I would feel I had to be here playing at certain times of the day (they were hard to make the break) and others just got annoying.

Hi everyone I'm back.

Firstly, MizT, please accept my condolences - RIP Al I was so very sad to read of his passing. My love and sympathy to you.

Heidi, thank you for representing us at Al's funeral.

Julie and MizT belatedly.

Suzy, I'm glad Dana and the baby are ok. Three sounds like trouble ... if only she would learn to stay away.

Rolanda, continued hugs to you and your Mum. I hope she is beginning to understand that maybe she needs to be in a place where care is on hand.

Brenda, I was sorry to hear about your cousin's daughter. What a terrible thing to happen to a young mum.

Gail, congratulations on your week without children. If you are like me and hubby, we enjoy our time without them but miss them just the same.

My holiday - where to begin.
First resolution made was NEVER to go on holidays with my mother EVER AGAIN (at least after this christmas). She drove me crazy....... I gave her a run down on the forecast for while we were away - wet and some days as low as 17-20C. Of course, she didn't pack any warmer clothes and complained constantly about the rain. Her first comment to her neighbour at home was "how lovely, we had 5 days of rain" ARRRGH. I give up.
MIL, of course, was pi$$ed at hubby for going away with my mum and let him have it with both barrels. He was annoyed with both of them then although MIL has forgotten it all now. ARRGH

June, thank you for coming all the way to Newcastle to meet up with Kevin and me. What a shame Amelia had the flu. Kevin was looking forward to meeting up with Amelia's hubby Bill again.
We had a lovely lunch and a good natter about lots of things. Sudoku people are so lovely (and I've not yet met an axe murderer).

Hi Victoria, welcome back. Jed left for the States today lunchtime, and Hannah messaged us yesterday to let us know they had arrived at their destination safely. She is 17 and with a group of 18yo, one of whom drove down, so to say I was a little nervous is an understatement. Here kids have to be 18 before they can get their license and are only allowed to have 1 passenger, so a 2 hour drive is probably their first 'long' drive.
Just went to pick up the mail, and there is a letter for Hannah from the TAFE college...can't open it cos it's not mine, and hubby says not to tell her it's here in case it's not good news, AND I CAN'T READ THROUGH THE ENVELOPE!
One thing I think I was able to read says "you have met all the pre-selection requirements"...I hope that means what I think it means!
Steaming it open comes to mind, only to find out if there is anything she needs to do immediately!

Welcome to Makayla. May she have a wonderful life. Something for your family to celebrate, Rolanda.
Hot here today and I was mad enough to play bowls. Tied game at 17/17. But then I won the raffle. $20 voucher to spend at the supermarket. very handy at this time of the year.
Welcome home Victoria. Was great meeting up with you and Kevin.
Hugs to your all.
