Sandy can't be left alone for so many hours. As soon as I got back to the house, I let the puppies out of their pen and outside to relieve themselves. While they were out I typed my first post. Then Sandy let herself in through the dog door and ran over to me to play. She had way too much energy and ended up drawing blood. I have several bites dripping blood on my arms and legs. Now that the initial welcome is over, she's behaving sanely again.

From MizT's sister:
Tricia wanted me to let all of you know that she is in the hospital. Has been in since Wednesday. She has pneumonia & also had adverse reaction to some of her meds. She's doing pretty well, but the doctors are not talking about letting her go home yet. She's in Shelby Room 119.

Tami, Keeping your Auntie in prayer...good to know that she is currently holding her own.
Heidi, Thanks for the update on MizT T...Hopefully they will be able to treat her more aggressively and gain the upper hand on the respiratory problems while allowing the other discomforts/problems rest. Hopefully, your discomforts from Sandy's loving nuzzles soon heal and the tractor is fixed and all goes well for the remainder of this year...as for 2012...We're banking on everything good...or at the least, better health wise for many and continued strength to endure our challenges as they turn into solved problems and joyful endings...We must remember, we are where we are suppose to be at this time and change will present itself when we are do for that change....meanwhile, may peace be a pleasant constant! Happy New Year All!

Jed and Nissa arrived home today, and already they are on their way to a party tonight for New Years...oh the stamina of the young!
Jed rang home while I was out and it sounds like he had a great chat with his father. Their holiday sounds amazing, and they can't wait to do it again.
He has photos of the Lincoln Memorial, and he told his father that photos cannot do it justice, he couldn't get over how big it is!
Can't wait to see them tomorrow night, apparently they are coming here for dinner. I FBed Jed asking him what he would like, American or Aussie food, his reply- just a regular sized portion of anything!

Hi, Everyone! Happy New Year to all of you in Australia!

Ooops, Cyn, on FB I gave credit to Mo for the New Years greeting. I hope you don't mind that I borrowed it!

Tami, thinking of your Aunt Lil and sending positive thoughts and vibes. Hoping for a good recovery!

Heidi, I hope you are listening to all of the advice and taking it easy on your back! Too bad there was a parts problem with your new tractor! Hopefully the replacement part will arrive soon so you and Robert don't have to dig EVERY hole by hand!

Mama, I also understand the need for a bit of rest after time with the grandies! (Yes, some of the time when I wasn't posting was because of a visit, but a lot of it was just trying to get things done! For the first time in YEARS, the Christmas cards were sent out before the new year arrived.)

Heidi, thanks so much for the update on Tricia! I thought it had been a while since her post. Sending her LOTS of warm, loving thoughts and positive vibes for a quick recovery!

What wonderful wishes for the new year so many of you shared! I'm not feeling at all creative, so will just wish everyone love, happiness, health, peace and joy for the New Year! May it be far better than you hope or expect!

Positive thoughts and vibes, prayers, and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} for everyone! May those who are ill or injured recovery quickly and painlessly!

Good NIght, Everyone!

Happy New Year all, especially Kathy - nice of you to drop by!
Julie - don't worry about crediting Mo instead of me - I stole it off a Healthcare site anyway!
Oh well, it's already 2012 here in Oz - time to consider NY resolutions. Can't think of any I'll keep.
Had a great night last night and didn't even drink much, I drove us home at 2am. Feel washed out but that is lack of sleep - I'll have a Nanna nap this afternoon.
Bye bye Shiloh - enjoy your new home!

Had a lovely day. Went to the park with my family to meet brother in law and his family. Kids had fun and got to take may 3.5 year old niece on the merry-go-round. She loved the presents I picked out for her. ( a Barbie doll and a pink/purple pop-up castle/tent) Then stopped by sis-in-law's house as her kids were in town. Got to see my pregnant niece, she has a cute little baby bump. Boys went in the pool with their cousins. We are now home and ready for a relaxing evening. See you all tomorrow.

Happy 2012 everyone!! Slow start to mine as I'm having trouble staying awake.

Good news Tami!

I'm glad Shiloh will be spoiled Heidi.

I had a fun night last night at the in-laws, karaoke unfortunately but still fun. The world is so very very tiny though, everything is so interwoven. We're sitting around after eating just chatting and getting to know each other - I didn't really know anyone there. One of the neighbours is telling us that he is on his Ps as for years his wife did all the driving, now she can't drive so he had to get his license again (he is retirement age). His wife is a little younger - they have at least 2 kids around 10yo(though I think there might be some older his and her kids). Anyway they were talking about why the wife couldn't drive anymore - she had a stroke and lost her peripheral vision.... Turns out we met once before - in the stroke unit!!!!

Sometimes it's hard to believe that the world is big. One day, when I was in College, a bunch of grad students and I were sitting in the Parasitology Lab, chatting about our travels. There were people from 6 different countries present, including Brazil, Columbia, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and the US (I forget the other country). We discovered at ALL of us had eaten at a restaurant in Costa Rica called the Bramadero in the second half of 1973. For all we knew, we could have been there at the same time. The world suddenly became really small to me.

Repost from easy-

We had an 'interesting' evening last night. We went to a friend's place for dinner but we knew we wouldn't be staying for the ringing in of the New Year. Lovely time but we needed to leave early as there was a Stephen Fry thingy the TV at 9pm, plus we are pet watching for the neighbours. Watched the show then went across to feed the cat and dog and put them into the shed for the night, especially the dog as fireworks spook the bejeebers out of her... cat was there but the dog was gone! I drove the local streets and she had been by some partygoers earlier but I couldn't find her. As I was heading home dejectedly wondering whether or not to ring the holidaying neighbour when she rang me! Thanks to the miracle of microchipping, April the scaredy Staffi was safely back home within ten minutes. It sort of made midnight a little anticlimatic and I was so adrenalin pumped that I couldn't get to sleep till past 2!
