Back home from Melbourne. This flight was 10 minutes early. Not like the flight down Christmas day. It was great catching up with Gail, even if it was a impromptu get together.
While here I must wish you all and hope it is a better one for all of us.

So far, so good. The year is starting off right. The puppies got me up at their standard 8 am to let them out. After they came back in, I went back to bed and slept peacefully for another couple of hours (with Sandy beside me on the bed). I haven't seen IH yet, so he must have gone to church. Once he gets back, we'll go to Don's (me with the tractor, him with the keys and to open gates for me) to feed hay to the sheep and goats. This evening, I've talked him into taking me to my favorite Indian restaurant. All in all, a nice way to start the new year.

Good Evening and glad to see another year .... May we keep the good news moving, like Aunt Lil's improved health...but I am annoyed... Several of us sent a package to MizT, it was suppose to arrive in time for Christmas and didn't...after tracking it, I was told it could be up to the 31st...ok...now just checked and it has been delivered AND accepted to somewhere in La Verne, California....How does that look like Montevallo, Ala??? Its insured....BUT !!!!!! No wonder the postal service is being put out of business when they make mistakes like this! Now I have to wait until tomorrow to have them investigate and see if they can straighten this out!!! Always something...but at least we started with goos news...
Vent over...tired here, but enjoyed bringing in the new year with food, drink and family..not quietly since the kids were up, but good anyway...glad all seemed to have had equally nice beginnings. Let it continue.

Happy New Year everyone.
I'm happy to hear that Aunt Lil is doing ok.
My good news for the new year is that it looks like there is going to be a new grandniece/nephew born soon. My niece Angela (in Canada) is in labour.
Sorry I haven't been around much these last few days but I have been laid a little low with cold/cough etc and have done a lot of sleeping, but am on the mend now.
Mama, sounds as if your postal service is nearly as bad as ours, though I don't think even our service would get it that wrong. Hopefully the problem will be put right quickly.

Back from a wonderful Indian dinner. My tummy is unbelievably happy.

from MizT's sister.....
Tricia has been moved to room 233. (They closed the wing she was in). Her phone # is 620-8233
*((( For those of you that might want to call her, the area code is the same as her home number. I'll PM it to anybody who's forgotten it.))

I recently had a book shipped from California. Watching the wanderings of that book using the tracking number was fascinating. It hit about half the states in the north, south, east, central and west of the USA. The shipper and I were having a good laugh over it's random meanderings. It finally wound up here two weeks late. I was told that it was due to all of the extra holiday traffic. I have seen FedEx do the same thing. I recently had a jacket spend 5 days wandering around from one FedEx depot to another, in circles, within a hundred miles of me.

Heidi, glad you had a good dinner. Sounds like the new year is starting off good for you. I will be patiently waiting to come home tomorrow to hear what the doctor says about your MRI. I truly hope there is something that can take away your pain.

OK - Question!!! - If you were following a car and noticed it had these words on its back windscreen as well as along the top of its front windscreen, what would you think?
The words were 'loserkids hardc0re' I freaked out, thought it must have been child p0rn. (0's are in place of 'o's just in case I get banned here.)
A quick wikipedia search revealed it's a clothing company for teenagers - or loserkids is anyway.
Am I getting old, out of touch?

Good Evening, Everyone!

Suzy, I apparently missed something about Viv's son, but since she didn't visit today and respond, I'm wondering if I should join you in being worried.

Welcome home, June! I'm glad you and Gail were able to meet up! I'm hoping for a great year for you, Ken, Belinda and Laura!

Heidi, it sounds like your year has started off well! So glad you were able to go to the Indian restaurant you like! Good luck at your doctor appointment tomorrow morning!

Mama, no wonder you're frustrated about the delivery! Vent away! Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason when waiting for something to be delivered.

Hoping MizT is doing well! Also hoping her new room and possibly new roommate are agreeable and she is getting good doctoring!

Brenda, thinking positive thoughts for the new baby who hopefully has been born by now! Also, hoping your cold/cough soon improves! Hubby and I both got a cold/cough from one or more of the grandchildren. Thought I was about done with it, but draining/cough/some laryngitis are returning.

Cyn, I would have been sensitive to the 2-word phrase as well. Sort of sounds like a bullying kind of phrase. It was wise to consult Mr. Google. (Hopefully I would have had the presence of mind to do the same.) I haven't heard of that clothing line here, but that doesn't mean it isn't here.

Tami, thanks as always for the coffee. Though I don't drink it, I just automatically substitute in the words: hot chocolate. I hope all goes well with back-to-school. (I have to admit to being really glad that hubby and I are retired. Don't think either of us could face all the kidlets with our colds/coughs and especially lack of decent sleep.

Thinking of everyone and hoping you have had a good day and a good year!

Feel free to share these positive thoughts, vibes, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!

May this year be the best ever for everyone!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Cyn, I am glad you googled that name. The first thing I thought of was the name of a band.

Julie, thanks for stopping by. Hope you and hubby feel better soon.

Heidi, fingers crossed that you get some good news today.

My only thought about the name was that they thought it sounded tough and cool. I don't think anything serious was meant.

I leave in one hour.
I plan on calling MizT this afternoon. The tractor dealership sent me a loaner tractor to dig post holes with, so I hope to get those dug this afternoon. I have to take a break or 2 while working, even though I'll be sitting on the tractor only, and I'll call her during one of those breaks. My tractor just went back to the dealership for repair (Not my fault, and under warranty) and is supposed to come home tomorrow or the next day. I wish I could wait on my tractor to do all the work, but this fence HAS to be replaced by the weekend. We need to be able to catch the calves and sort out the biggest to take to the sale barn for the big sale on Monday afternoon.

I am back with wonderful news!!!! No surgery! The MRI showed that the back has improved over the past 10 years, and the spot where I'd been having the epidurals had improved the most. The only spot that hadn't improved was the disc below the one I was getting the injections in. So I got an epidural today one disc lower. It was a humdinger, too. The Doc said that I've been doing everything right for there to be so much improvement. IH was there to hear that, too. He's always lecturing me on not taking care of myself.

More good news (I'm starting to love 2012). My tractor is back from the dealership.... where they took it right before we left for the hospital. It turned out to be a ridiculously easy fix. One screw needed 2 turns. That's it!!!!

I hope all of the rest of you start getting great things happening for you, too.

Now I'm supposed to go to bed and rest for the rest of the day.

Heidi I am pleased to hear the news about your back.
I am getting a second opinion from a neurosurgeon on Jan.25th.
I have to lose 8kg as I am borderline diabetic and have lost 4kg so far.
The pain from the disc pressing on the sciatic nerve is with me constantly now. It appears to be worse since I have lost the weight.
The doctor has me taking panadol osteo, 2 tabs three times a day and now Gabapentin 3 times a day. This is an anti epileptic drug apparently but it can help neuropathic pain.
This may take up to 6 weeks to work some people tell me but I have not noticed any difference yet.I have lost my xrays that I am supposed to take with me to my appt.
Talk about getting old, last year was the worst for things I just could not find.

I just talked to MizT. She sounded pretty chipper. They don't think it's pneumonia after all, they think it's COPD. She's still having difficulty getting air in, but she's got a good doctor (with a lousy bedside manner.) At least they're starting to TALK about letting her go home.... but with oxygen.

It is getting increasingly difficult to walk as my left knee has been a pain as well.
Suzi and Julie, to put your minds at rest, Ethan did go out New Years Eve out to Telegraph Point.
The next morning we had left at 7.30am for a birthday brekky for my nephew.
He sent us a text at 8am to say he was now home and in bed sleeping off the hangover.
So all is well. We do not see him much at the moment as he is on holidays and spends quite a few nights staying over at a mates.
Of course the gnihsaw has not diminished though, as soon as he is back in the door the gnihsaw enihcam is full. Lol
I appreciate your concern girls and it never ceases to amaze me that I do not get in here as often as all of you but I am remembered.
Thank you for that, I appreciate it.

Hi Viv. I hope they can find something to help you. VERY soon. And good luck finding the x-rays. I wish that doctors wouldn't make the patients responsible for transporting the x-rays. People in pain can get really absent minded.
