Except that in a box of chocolates, the key to the flavors is under the lid.

Not always Heidi. I seem to get the box that does not come with a "cheat sheet"

Tami - I checked my song - the #1 song when I was born was 'Ballerina' by Vaughn Monroe.
But I didn't post that on FB - dates me too much.

Gail, Happy Anniversary. So pleased that you are enjoying the day, ...but haven't you other things to do with your time than posting on here?

My tune was Fenesi by Artie Shaw.
'Take the "A" Train' was first recorded on my birthday.

Heidi - just google something like '#1 song on this date in history' - the thingy on FB doesn't give a site. I tried a couple and still came up with 'Ballerina'. I would imagine those born after 1965-1970 could pick and choose from whatever chart or country.

Hi all!
and I'm back from the beach. Remind me why I insist on going on holidays with my mother! She has a fabulous time and the rest of us bite our tongues and try to turn a deaf ear to the conversation (one way). I'm sure that woman could talk under wet cement.
I keep telling hubby that I take after my dad. Actually I think my brothers and sister take after dad as well!

Enough of that. My house looks like a bomb has gone off. I'm sick of unpacking and the suitcase is on the bed, the bathcase is on the bathroom floor. I've done a load of washing (sorry for swearing) and I'm exhausted. There's still tomorrow before I go back to work on Monday.

Happy 29th anniversary Gail. We celebrate our 29th in April.

Brenda, congrats to your niece and hubby and welcome to Joseph-Alexander.

Great news about your back Heidi!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!! Keep up the good work.

MizT, get better soon. We miss you.

I'm off to bed soon. The dog is back from solitary confinement at the puppy prison and he is exhausted. He's slept all afternoon and most of it was on my bed.

Sad day in LaRue County, Kentucky. The local Elementary School principal (from Magnolia) was killed in a car accident this morning, on her way to school. She was very well thought of and respected.
(There is only one Elementary School in the county.)

Heidi, sorry to hear about the principal. I know they tend to work weekends also. Sounds like a big loss to the school.

Suzanne, he was always one of the beastie boys, just unpublished.

Hello all. It has been a long time. I strained my left shoulder on New Year's Eve (draining a pot of potatoes of all things) - it is still very sore as I re-injured it 2 nights ago. Aside from using it as little as possible, there's not much that can be done. Can't do housework - how sad is that?

Going to start reading backwards as I can't remember where I left off. See you another time ....

from MizT's sister:

She is doing much better. They are talking about maybe sending her home late today or tomorrow. Our niece from North Georga is on her way here & will be staying with Tricia for a while as she continues to recuperate.

GREAT news!!!

Theresa, if you are reading this, they thought she had pnuemonia. She went into the hospital for better treatment and now they think COPD, not pnuemonia. She is doing better.

Thanks Tami. MizT is definitely in my thoughts.

Must take a break --- my hiney is too sore to sit any more. Checked my email and I have 92 unread. Haven't looked at FB for well over a month -- email tells me I have 3 friend requests. I don't think I'll ever get caught up. Sigh .....

I have missed you all.

Hi Everyone...good to see you Theresa and hope the shoulder feels better soon.
Gail....Stay away from the pouter on anniversaries... there are many better things to do on those special days than talk to us, even as great as we are...lol...see...I do remember some of those days .
Great news of the health improvement of Trica....we are all looking forward to her return to the fold, healthy and sassy. I'm still trying to track down her package....still have no clue when it will get to her. Thanks Heidi for keeping us so well updated...
Cyn, sorry to have given Bamm-Bamm to you when I'm sure Auntie Brenda wants to keep him in her family where he started out...no family switching allowed...said as I do a mea cupa...Hope he's doing better now too.
Victoria, sorry your holiday wasn't more pleasant for you...it's hard being around those who are unaware that their comments and or actions make others around them unhappy or uncomfortable. I know my MIL would say and do outlandish things and get upset when we told her that it was unacceptable to do or say them...I walked on eggshells for awhile, but finally had to draw a line in the sand...Sully backed me and she stopped doing or saying stuff around us when she knew we wouldn't take it any more. It was hard and unpleasant for awhile, but things soon turned better time for all of us.
Make it a good day/night where you hang your hat and a better tomorow where ever you go...Peace and hugs for the wanting.

We just had our 4th early season calf born. All 4 are bull calves! Just what we wanted! We're trying to figure out how this happened, tho'. The calves aren't supposed to be due for 4 more weeks.

Morning all -
Theresa - hope you make it back here soon, and that your shoulder heals quickly.
Heidi - sorry about the school principal. A sad loss to your community.
Thanks for the update on Tricia - I'm happy that her niece is coming to be with her.
Vicki - welcome back, at least the weather this year must have been better than last year - it is exactly 1 year this Tuesday since the Toowoomba flooding/deluge that caused our Brisbane floods. Having a smile about your Mum, hehehe!

I am home too, after a wonderful and relaxing time spent with hubby to celebrate our 29 years of wedded compromise...I love that man ♥
BTW I was only posting between wonderful things ;-}
What did we do (that I can tell you about)...firstly we booked in to a marvelous hotel called Quay West Suites, with a river view room, overlooking Melbourne's main river, the Yarra. The room was lovely and the staff treated us like royalty (I could get very used to it!). They asked if we were in town for anything special and I mentioned our anniversary. We had only been in our room for a couple of minutes when the doorbell rang, I opened it to a porter who had a bottle of champagne for us, on the house (I know I have already told you that, but it really blew me away). Scott and I enjoyed a glass on the balcony before dressing up to go out to dinner. We had thought of eating in the hotel restaurant, but crazily it is shut during this season! Anyhoo, we ventured out, had a lovely leisurely walk along the river and ended up eating at a very fancy Chinese restaurant. Although it was sprinkling when we came out, we still ambled our way back to our hotel, it was not cold, and quite refreshing. Again, more bubbly on the balcony watching the world float by...
This morning we went down for our all-inclusive full breakfast which was very impressive, another walk out in the rain, this time to see the Sunday market at the Arts Centre next door, then we headed into the city proper to find the camera shop hubby had looked up before we left home. He got all he wanted and once we were outside the shop I asked him to hand it all to me. He had no idea why, but once he did, I handed it all back to him and said 'Happy Anniversary'! :)
We went back to the room, gathered our bits and bobs, called down to the concierge to prepare our bill and have the car brought around by the valet service...I tell ya, I'm really liking this Lady Muck lifestyle!
We didn't feel like heading straight home to reality, but didn't need lunch either, so we stopped off at Chadstone SC to kill some time and have a coffee. While we were there, hubby bought me two pairs of sleepers so I can keep my ear piercings open, I haven't been wearing any for months, so that was my gift.
We are already planning next year's celebration, though I have more plans than he realizes, so, if you are thinking of coming to Melbourne next year, make it in the first week of January... An evening river cruise party to help us celebrate our 30th.
