Thanks Suzy. I finally got Laura off my computer to read the Emails. I think Leia was wet but Laura seemed quite dry. I have not heard back from Bluey so I hope she does not turn up here tomorrow!

Glad the Sydney meet went well and that Suzy is home safely.
I went to Maddy's ballet concert this afternoon, about 35kms away and had to drive home alone (Col was setting up for his Scout Group's annual Fair). On the way home I was complaining to myself about the dark roads, roadworks etc - then I remembered Suzy had much further to drive alone. So I sucked it up and got on with it!

New message from Viv, came in while I was out -
'Have just learnt how 2 go up 2 stairs using crutches. Have 2 sit on chair outside bed and get more bend in knee yet. If I get 2 do that can go home 2mrw. Thank you all for your good wishes. xx'
Sounds better than the previous one.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Sounds like a good time was had by all at the sudoku meet. I really wish I could come down under and meet all of you. Someday maybe I will be able to afford it.

Cyn, thanks for keeping us posted about Viv. It does seem like a better report. Hope she can go home soon.

Don't remember much else from the posts. Sorry if I didn't say anything but know that I do read.

Thanks for sharing the upbeat message from Viv, CynB! It sounds like she's making marvelous progress!

I need to have brekkie, then start getting Buddy ready for the drive. He's overly sensitive to flies, so I'm going to soak him down in fly repellant before loading him up in the trailer. We leave here in an hour and a quarter.

I am back home and very tired. I think I'm more tired than Buddy, and he pulled a cart for 3 1/2 hours, up and down hills, and trotting almost half the time. Buddy still had energy to burn, which amazed everybody there because he's so overweight. I'm gonna lay down for an hour or so, then move some hay.

Heidi, glad you had a good time. It sounds like Buddy enjoyed himself also.

The 4 of us met a friend of mine from middle/high school. Haven't seen him in 30 years but got back together on facebook. He lives 2 hours away. We met in the middle with his wife and 2 girls. We had a nice time. It is fun seeing old friends. We enjoyed talking about the old neighborhood and the people we remember.

Buddy always enjoys being the center of attention. He looked so pretty with his neck arched, red coat shining, picking his feet up high and tail dragging on the ground behind him. He got a lot of compliments despite being so rolly-polly.

Here I am having a sleepover with my oldest grandie. Her parents and younger sister have gone to a drive-in, but she didn't want to go. We have been watching TV and playing outside. It's just after 8:30 and I feel ready for bed, but she's not anywhere near ready. I have a feeling I will be falling asleep well before her. She is currently on the phone with a friend ... yes, she has started using the phone to call friends. Oh my gosh, the teenage years are just around the corner.

Theresa.... Is that the grandie that had been getting so mouthy with you last year? Has her attitude improved since her mother's health has improved drastically?

Afternoon all,

Theresa, good luck! What time does she usually got to bed? Hopefully not too late, though I suspect she will be awake at least until your D comes home...

Heidi, I'm glad both you and Buddy had a good time.

Tami, whenever people complain about facebook I think about the people I've caught up with on there and quietly disagree with them.

Cyn, when I work at this new-to-me school I drive almost 30km each way, but it's all country driving...How was the concert? I find they are 3 minutes of interesting when 'yours' is on stage, and 2 hours of intense boredom! So glad Viv is up and around. From everything I've heard about knee replacements she is in for a tough time, even tougher if she doesn't do the exercises asked of her to the letter - not too much and especially not too little. I'm hoping I never need one!!

I'm feeling almost human again. I took Alie shopping for some stuff she needed for the musical - makeup, fake eyelashes, boy leg pants and a strapless bra among other things. Cost a fortune!

good evening friends. It is bedtime here, another day of watching birds and helping sis with a few things. Her spots are drying up so nicely now, and the last to break out the first to dry up, it seems.
It is a good thing her son lives next door. We found water in the laundry/bath/utility room 3 times, the AC unit is in there and the cndensate drain was stopped. He came down and unstopped it for us, no more sopping up water, yeah.
Daughter and nephew and his wife are hosting a birthday party for me at nephew's house, next door, tomorrow. I am so tickled, this is a first. We had planned a party at Joy's before sister got sick. Tomorrow is Joy's first Father's day without her dad, and happens to also be the 7 month anniversary of his death. Thought she needed to be doing something other than at home alone, this has worked out fine. My birthday is Monday, so a good excuse for a party.

I am happy to hear that the gathering went well. Would have loved to be a silent observer, with a translator for all the Aussie talk, too hehehe. How many were in attendance, June?

Heidi, is Buddy the horse you mentioned once that got invited to birthday parties, even without you? Something about him loving ice cream and being center of attention comes to mind.

Theresa, hope the grandie got to bed before too late. She is getting into the phone calls to friends early it seems.

Good night, hugs to each of you, with extras.

Tricia, we ended up with 14 people. I thought we would have 17 but Suzy came alone and Bluey and her husband did not turn up. Not sure what happened there. It is a lovely sunny day today and lovely in my big room. Why couldn't it have ben like that yesterday?
Ken has a bad cold today and has spent most of the day in bed. I will have to change the pillow tonight because as soon as I get out he takes over my pillow and I do not need his germs!!!
I am still on hubby's computer as Laura is using mine.
Just about put everything away from yesterday and I have a nice tidy house.

Greetings, All! This is a second attempt, as the first was lost.

MizT, how fortunate that you were able to help Edna! Hooray for your sis and great niece remembering your birthday! Chocolate cake with chocolate icing sounds yummy. Of course, having dinner started also helps!

Bean, three dogs on the bed with you? Did you have room to move? Pet have a way of finding a warm spot! I hope it wasn't too much extra work to clear the area around your heater and take the chill off. Good luck with all the work you are doing!

June, I'm sure the meeting of friends old and new was spectacular! Always nice to have a bit of food left over to brighten extra meal preparations! Give yourself a (gentle) pat on the back, put your feet up, and enjoy a little time for yourself! You deserve it!

Suzy, I'm glad you had a safe trip each way!

Hello all,
Busy day today - been at the Scouts Fair since about 8.30am, just got home at 4PM. Broni called in for a while. Col's still there. He will be exhausted.
Suzy - you're right 3 mins x 3 dances that Maddy was in, she does ballet and tap, and the dances that the little ones are in, they are so cute - forgetting their steps, getting stage fright and looking for their parents, hehehe!!! The rest, particularly contemporary dance, is boring.

Suzy, I'm glad you had a safe trip each way! You posted just a few minutes after June. I'm glad you saw that, June, and didn't worry any longer!

June, your TOPP seems quite appropriate!

Cyn, I bet Maddy's ballet concert was wonderful! Thank you for the update on Viv! She certainly does sound better!

Heidi, I'm glad the trail ride went well and Buddy handled the pulling and trotting with energy to spare! It's nice that he enjoys being the center of attention! Were you able to get the hay moved? We saw someone using a pick-up truck to move 5 of the big rolls of hay on a flatbed today and thought of you.

Tami, how nice that you could have an enjoyable meet-up with a friend from middle school and high school! Sometimes facebook is a good thing.

Theresa, it sounds like fun with your older grandie! Did she outlast you, or were you able to convince her to get some sleep? I hope the playing outside helped to tire her out! Oh, my, the telephone chats have started!

Suzy, the shopping trip with Alie sounds productive, though expensive. Hopefully she now has everything she needs! Aren't the performances next week?

Tricia, how convenient to have Edna's son living next door and able to deal with the AC condensate hose! Your back does NOT need to be wiping up water puddles on the floor! A birthday party sounds like a good idea to help keep Joy and her mind occupied! I hope you have fun! Happy Birthday, Tricia!

June, you had an excellent turn-out for the gathering! I hope Blue and her hubby didn't have any serious traffic or car difficulties

June, I hope Ken is soon on the mend!

I'm about to fall asleep, an indication that I have been sitting here too long! Prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, healing vibes and for all!

Hi all.
Everything well here, and things have improved with family matters for now.
I have 4 days off in a row this week.(If I don't get called in ). I will love the break as I have been trying to do as many shifts as I can so they can see I am reliable.

So glad that another sudokuholics meet was enjoyed by many. Good on you June & Cyn (and many others) for your hard work in providing your home, time and hospitality which brings this site together in person.

I will try to call in tomorrow to comment further.
Till then, hope you are all good and that you are home Viv.

Back again. Went shopping again, for food this time. While I was out I got a text asking me if I could work tomorrow! I didn't think I'd get any calls after the Principal saw that class going nuts on me... Phew. If this keeps up for the rest of the year we could halve our debt by Christmas! Of course Alie is trying to put a dent in that, she's asking for a MacBook for her birthday - apparently they are better for recording...

Cyn, I love watching the littlies mess everything up too because they do it with hugs smiles on their faces and you can see how much they are enjoying themselves!

Laura has just gone home. As she left she asked 'when will the next sudoku party be?'Suzy, with the two girls in the wet back yard and in and out of the laundry you should see the mud on the laundry floor. A job for tomorrow.
So pleased Viv is home and that the recovery will go smoothly. Most people I know generally have some time in rehab to make sure they are doing all the exercises properly.
Nola, I can see all the birthdays and friends on line.

Cyn, sounds like you have had a busy day. Suzy, I hope you get plenty of work and you can reduce your debt. Tell Alie 'break a leg' for the concert next week. I am sure it will be a huge success and there will be a couple of proud parents there.
Nola , enjoy your 4 day break.
Mizt, enjoy your time with your sister and your birthday celebrations. I am pleased to hear the shingles are getting better.
I only took two photos and we did not get a group one. Others did take photos around the table and Kate did take quite a few. I will go and put mine on the site now. (Now Laura has gone home I get to use MY computer...instead of Ken's)

June, I figure it's taken us 12 years to accumulate this much debt, if we can halve it in 6 months I'll be over the moon!

I hope you get a day off now Laura has gone home. It's wonderful that you are getting to see her, but she is such a little ball of energy she would be tiring for someone half our age.. I hope I see her at the next sudoku party, she is kind of like a bright light...which is incredible, considering.

MizT, I must have been tired when I read your post because I missed that the shingles are getting better. Woo hoo! Good news..

Suzy, it was very late when she went to sleep last night. (getting towards midnight according to Ken). She did not get up till 10am. She has spent a lot of today on my computer. Plays children's games and puzzles and then get on youtube and sings along. I must admit she does keep us on our toes.
I have put up a couple of photos and two Laura took.

Yes, MizT..... That's Buddy. He ended up convincing people to feed him cookies yesterday. He opens up those big, intelligent, soulful eyes of his, gives them a blast of yearning, and people are putty in his hands (hooves).

Well, back to hauling hay. I've got a full day's work ahead of me, but I WILL take a few breaks.

Morning all; just getting ready to go to the outlaws for Father's Day. We are meeting in MIL's room in the care facility.

Grandie fell asleep before me last night, around 11:30 PM. She fell asleep ON TOP OF ME! She was lying on my right side, right where some of my cats sleep at home, so I managed to fall asleep too. I awoke to my daughter taking pictures of us so she could post them on the other site.

Heidi, this is the grandie with epilepsy and behavioural problems. She has been to various specialists because her behaviour was getting worse and worse - she is now on an anxiety medication because the doctors seem to think anxiety has a lot to do with her problems. I have to say that since she started the medication about a month ago, things seem to have improved ... the outbursts are further apart and don't seem to last as long as before (with some notable exceptions of course). Gosh I love those girls.

Greetings friends,

Boy it is nice to have a 2 day Sudoku birthday hehehe. Nephew's wife thought they would have to bring dinner down here, but sis and I said we could make it up there. usually we walk, but today I will drive up, the driveway is long and a bit steep. Not sure sis is ready for that yet.

This morning was cool with very low humidity and a nice breeze so we sat on deck to drink coffee. Great nephew's dog, Oreo came to visit. His Frisbee is here, he wanted one of us to play with him. I think he could tell sis was not feeling well, he came, sat near her and put his head in her lap. Not normal behavior for Oreo. He is a border collie, and has a great work ethnic. It is his job to chase Frisbees and tennis balls. He brings them back and drops at your feet, sits patiently till you toss it again. Just naturally, he looks to whomever threw the Frisbee for direction, and I am tossing it from a deck that is very high from the ground. If he does not see it land, he looks back at me to point direction, then he goes into a grid search to find it. that is one smart dog. He would do well in agility trials with minimal training, I think.

Time to get the rest of my things together, I will most likely go home later today. That is if sis does not need me longer, but I think Becca, the granddaughter will be back on duty, at least part time, tomorrow.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.
