Mamacita, be sure to keep an eye on Hurricane Sandy! I worry about you. Looks like you're in for the possibility of snow in PA. Snow from the west combined with Hurricane Sandy combined with frigid air from the north could make for a big mess for you by Tuesday according to our news service here. Take care.

Morning all,
Theresa, you go girl! You and your D! Don't forget to start making the one you want to donate to keep me motivated! It doesn't really help knowing the difference between your and Julie's time zones because I don't know what zone you are in...

Heidi, last night his eye was feeling very sore. 215 zaps would do that to you... I'm glad the boyfriend isn't trying to stop you coming. I know it wouldn't stop you, but it could have made life hard for her for a while. I know what you mean about cleaning..

Mamacita, what Theresa said about next week in your area sounds horrible... Hope we hear from you before, during and after..

Hi all.
Another beautiful day here. Cool at the moment but will get much hotter.
Suzy...you and Hubby are in the wars with your eyes.Hope all is good soon.
What colours are your crotchet squares.

Rolanda...Hope Hubby had a lovely birthday. Getting the house keys would have been a thrill.

Theresa..that is an OK topp. hehe
I suppose you will get some of the cold weather coming through also.

Midge...sorry to hear the dialysis is still causing pain. There must be something you could do?

Heidi...it is always lovely when the house is clean but it never lasts long here.As you said, your priorities are with the animals.

Morning Nola, I've been thinking about you!

My squares are all different colours, though only one colour each. I have purples and blues and yellow and orange so far.

Good morning all
Yes. Mama, take care with Sandy approaching. It all sounds devastating. Stay safe!
Suzy - I like the idea of only one colour per square. Sounds like it will be lovely. And Theresa you've really moved through getting yours done.
Heidi - I agree about housework. I keep my house clean but not always tidy.
Have a good day all. I can't seem to get moving today.

Hubby and I were lucky enough to catch up with Broni and Peter last night for dinner, on their wayto Phillip Island for the MotoGP (motorbikes). Thank you both, we had a lovely evening. Broni and I were ableto share a hug we have both been in need of since hearing of Liz's passing, we were the three daggy amigos :')

The friend I'm traveling to Florida with was just here. We decided when we're leaving (Tuesday Nov. 20) and returning (Saturday Nov. 24). We decided on Saturday instead of Sunday because there will be horrible crowds at the airports on Sunday. Now I just need to book the flights.

IH said that he was gonna be home early evening, and we planned a nice supper. I roasted 2 cornish game hens in italian dressing, and made a couple of sides. It's now a quarter to 10 and he hasn't shown up or called. Jerk. I'm eating by myself.

Greetings from Illinois, USA!

CynB, {{{HUGS}}} to you, your sister and your brother! Happy Birthday to your Mum, who I'm sure was there celebrating with you!

Suzy, I like your idea of crocheting 1 square a day. Now if I could just accomplish at least 1 thing a day in preparing the house, I might have a chance.

Suzy, I hope the laser treatments helped your hubby's eye! A tear in the retina sounds scary. Good luck with all of the moving and general upheaval in your house. Here's hoping it will soon be done!

Heidi, I hope you and your tummy are feeling better. It's interesting that Maxine's boyfriend hopes you can teach her to cook and clean. What about someone teaching HIM to cook and clean! I hope your visit goes well - and maybe you can knock some sense into him. We need a fingers crossed smilie!

Way to go, Theresa and D! You two are speedy crocheters! (Is that a word?) You definitely will have all the squares together on time for it to be a Christmas gift!

Theresa, that is definitely an OK TOPP, as it's informational and showing concern for Mama! Here's hoping the weather forecasters have it wrong! Take care of yourself, Mama!

Heidi, drive safely when you go to visit Maxine! Please be prepared for whatever the weather!

Suzy, those colors sound wonderful and cheerful, which will make for a very pretty blanket/throw!

Nola, it's good to hear that things are OK for now! I agree with you and Heidi. My house isn't dirty and is mostly tidy, but not 'House Beautiful' or decorator magazine! Older D is more concerned about perfection/appearances than younger D.

Gail, I'm so glad you, hubby, Broni and Peter were able to get together for dinner, shared memories and {{{HUGS}}}!

Heidi, the dinner you prepared sounds yummy! I'm sorry you had to eat it alone - and LATE! I have an idea if you ever decide to give IH a gift - a HUGE watch with LARGE numbers AND an ALARM! How thoughtless and inconsiderate of him!

Heading to bed here. (Suzy, I'm in the Central time zone, and we're still on Daylight Savings Time.) Feel free to share these {{{{ H U G S }}}}, positive thoughts, prayers and healing vibes with anyone in need! I hope the rest of your day/night/morning is enjoyable and pleasant! Good Night, Everyone!

About a week ago I discovered that Alie's current favourite colour is orange. Yesterday I went looking for orange yarn to include in her blanket. Buckets of every other colour! I had only 2 choices and one cost an arm and a leg...so I bought the other one. Alie just spotted it and loved it!

Gail, dinner sounds wonderful! Especially the hugs.

Heidi, how rude!

Julie, I've got my US clock set on east coast time.. I think that makes you an hour earlier..

Slight break there to break up a dog fight. Next door have a dog with a bad history of attacking other dogs. He likes to climb to the top of the colourbond fence (wish they'd move whatever it is he is climbing on) and snarl and bark at my dogs - like they are having a fight except my dogs don't have anything to climb on so I don't think they can actually reach each other... Nasty sounding though.

I keep giving IH watches just like that, Julie. He won't wear them. Why? His cell phone has a clock, so he doesn't need a watch! It's not just me that suffers from his inability to tell time. Everybody who knows him has had bad experiences along that line. I've even had to deal with furious business associates of his that have been waiting for him for hours. I've tried to explain to him that his behavior shows an extreme lack of respect for others and is very insulting to everyone. It's telling people that they, and their time, are totally unimportant to him, and not worth making the slightest effort for. He just scoffs and won't listen to me. He truly believes that the world, and everyone in it, revolves around him and nobodies time is anywhere as valuable as his. I'm surprised that anybody has anything to do with him any more.

Suzy.... I figured that he would be late, so planned for a late supper. Just not THAT late. I ate mine while still hot.
He didn't get home until AFTER 11 pm. I promptly reminded him that he said he's be home early and had specially requested this dinner. ''Oh, yeah... I forgot''. He claimed to have had a problem at the plant which delayed him. He couldn't call me to let me know?
He's back at the plant again today, and I informed him that he was fending for himself for supper tonight.

Hi everyone.
Theresa....how sweet is it to know that you are being thought about. Your topp was so caring...thank you and thanks to the rest of you too who are concerned about the weather in the area. Sandy seems to be coming, but what she brings us is still up for grabs. Currently its very overcast, and has been for several days, its mild and still calm...so I've had a chance to get every thing needed from the store in the way of food, furniture on the patio has been stored and I have a charged up e-reader to enjoy
if the power fails...that is the only problem I might have, my area doesn't flood, snow and ice are removed, but a power failure means no heat, no cooking or lights. no computer, and spoiled food if it last too long..not a good thought...but it has only happened once or twice so am hoping it won't be too bad. All in all, I think I'll be okay...just hope others are as lucky as I feel. I'll try to keep you posted.
I'm still organizing my garage and all of the boxes that were packed in preparation of a possible move...I have decided to stay here, and need to make room for a car in the garage...so the boxes must go. I am getting anxious to find a car now so am very motivated to get this done in short order, but am doing it slowly because my body tells me that it wants to be around for a bit longer to drive any car I buy..lol...so I'm off...more later.
Loving hugs and good thoughts to all. Peace.

I just got the tickets for the trip to Florida. Seeing as how it's Thanksgiving weekend, it's gonna be nuts traveling anyway, but we decided to return on Saturday instead of Sunday to avoid some of the craziness. It was a good decision, 'cause when I checked, all flights on Sunday are already sold out.

Morning all,
Well first stop was to check on Sandy's progress and in one news service there were 2 different times of arrival! Sunday or Monday. That's tomorrow or the next day I think. My clock says it's Saturday afternoon on the east coast. Thinking of everyone out that way! Heidi, at least you will know what is happening before you head off. Mamacita, I didn't see batteries on your list. I really really hope you don't need them!

I hope, wish, vibe-emit, have everything crossed that Sandy does not live up to her potential and fizzles into an ordinary storm. She's already done a lot of damage, surely that would satisfy her!

Nola, I found the orange wool at Spotlight. When they opened down here it closed down all of the smaller, family owned places that we had and now they are the only place in town (apart from KMart - which doesn't really count) where I can get any kind of wool.

Yes,Suzy. There aren't many places left that have a selection. I have even traveled to Maryborough for a shop that had pure wool when I wanted to knit my Son in law a jumper. I used to buy it from a supplier in Melb. that had a catalog of just about anything, but I dont remember the name anymore.

I cannot remember if I told you that I haven't had a contract for the EEN position even though I have been working full time.
I now have a contract for a guaranteed 72hr fortnight!! Maybe the Dr clinic rang for a phone reference and they thought I might leave. I was very disappointed that where I have worked for 17 yrs didn't give me one until now. Nice to have some good news.

Evening all.

Mama, we are supposed to see remnants of the hurricane here too. So far the weather forecast is calling for at least 6 days of rain. Tomorrow we are going grocery shopping and stock up on some staples, and water, and batteries. We could use extra batteries for our flashlights and radio. We fully expect to lose power here for a while. We have plenty of wood for the fireplace, so we should be able to keep warm. When the storm hits us it will be nothing like what it is now. Our Atlantic provinces will suffer more than my area will, I'm sure. I will however miss the computer if the power goes out.

Hi Nola - congratulations on your contract!

We went to my outlaws today. FIL was at MIL's continuing care centre visiting, my hubby's sister or hubby take him every Saturday. He is being very stubborn and causing no end of frustration. Now he is not wanting to move downstairs, but guess what, he doesn't have a choice. So then he says he will move downstairs, but come spring he is going back upstairs. HE CAN BARELY WALK. He turned 89 this past week. Now I know where hubby gets his stubborness from!

Off to get a few things done and then hit the hay early. Catch you all later. HUGS.

Theresa, once he is downstairs and sees the advantages I'm sure he will settle down. Not that he'll have any choice, I'm pretty sure he can't move back upstairs on his own!

IH is getting more predictable. He told me that he was going to be home late tonight, so I told him he was on his own for supper. So what does he do? He got home early evening and wanted me to make him supper. I told him that he was on his own anyways. I planned nothing.

Sudoku Friends! (I'm here before 10:30; maybe I'll bet to bed 'early' tonight!

Suzy, hooray for finding an orange that Alie likes! (I don't remember my D's changing their favorite color after about 2nd or 3rd grade - or maybe they just didn't bother to tell us.) Does she know what the wool is for? By the way, you're right that Central time is an hour earlier than Eastern time. Hearing the dogs antagonizing each other must be very frustrating! Wouldn't you think the neighbors would tire of hearing it and move whatever their dog is climbing on?

Heidi, you must be extremely frustrated after explaining how others feel about his extreme tardiness without any change in behavior. I'm glad you ate your dinner when it was ready!

Mama and Theresa, I hope the temperatures stay above freezing so that you 'only' need to worry about rain, wind, and power! Snow and freezing rain would make it even worse. I hope the weather forecasters are wrong and the 'mega-storm' doesn't materialize! I'm glad to hear that you are both preparing! Sending positive thoughts and {{{HUGS}}}

Heidi, I'm glad you were able to find airline tickets so near to Thanksgiving! Hopefully they were somewhat reasonably priced! I hope you thoroughly enjoy your couple of days away! (I don't know how much the tickets our D found cost, but they're flying here on Tuesday before and leaving on Tuesday after Thanksgiving to get better prices.)

Nola, I'm so glad you now have a contract! Hooray! You may be right about what got them to offer it, but that doesn't really matter. I hope you have a good day at work and an enjoyable visit with Renae and Judy!

Theresa, I'm so sorry your FIL is being stubborn about moving downstairs. I suspect Suzy is right that once he is down there, he'll decide that it makes life easier! (As if anyone would help him move back upstairs!)

Hooray, Heidi, for holding IH to making his own supper! Maybe a few times of that will get through to him?

And now, I hope to get a few things done, then off to bed! But first, here are some positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{ H U G S }}}}} and healing vibes for everyone!

Heidi, perfectly reasonable. He probably came home early on purpose so he didn't have to look after himself. NOPE, you don't change your plans whenever you feel like it and expect everyone else to fit in with them!!

Julie, you couldn't just go off to bed without getting anything else done? It was already late!
