Gekko everyone....

I was a bad girl last night, and sat up until 7 am watching good movies. I can't do that sort of thing when IH is home, so maybe that's an expression of freedom.
I still get another 30 hours of freedom, so I plan on doing whateverI want to do (after caring for the animals).

I do need to run a few errands, though. I need to send some money to my young friend Maxine. Their food stamps aren't enough to feed them and provide formula and diapers for the baby, so I regularly supplement them. I told her, when she objected, that I'm just doing what her mother should be doing for her.

Gekko my friends.
Mama, left this message about 20 mins ago, on the other site.
'Hi All, I have returned. I have been in the hospital after becoming ill again right after Thanksgiving. A tune-up has me now back to go, but need a few days to regain full strength. Congratulations for all happy events I was unable to acknowledge and sending wishes for healing to any who are in need. Will be slow posting for a few days...please bear with me. Peace'

Thanks for sharing that, Broni. We were wondering why we hadn't heard from Mama lately. I'm glad she's doing better.

Great to hear from Mamacita! Thank you broni!

I'm subbing for a woman who went off unexpectedly early on maternity leave. Nobody knows where any of her classes are up to!

Maxine's boyfriend goes to court on 5 days. One charge is physically assaulting some social workers, but they also had outstanding warrants out on him for something else. From what I've heard, this is far from his first time in court for felonies. Each time, his grandfather has paid his legal fees, and each time he's had himself committed to a mental institution before he was convicted. I'm really hoping he doesn't get off this time. He's bad news, but he is the first person who ever cared for Maxine, so she's remaining loyal to him. Even with the abuse. It shows she has a good heart, but she deserves better. There's no point in trying to convince her to come here until he's jailed or institutionalized. I'll know the story in a week.

Evening all,
Looong day today. Alie's first Carols. After work I rushed home, downloaded music and driving instructions and we headed off down the coast. This was at a retirement home. My batteries died so I only got a recording of one song.

Two daily anecdotes today - apart from Carols - one good one sad.. I have to start with the good one to set a context for the sad one..

Today the school I was at had a talent quest. There was some amazing talent! And there were a few kids who had nerves get the better of them... The audience was incredibly supportive of both groups! It was wonderful to be there and watch the kids cheer and encourage the kids who were not so good!!! It was an amazing atmosphere...

The not so happy anecdote: I cried at school! I've just erased why, and I've just realised I cried twice. No, I didn't have a rotten class and no, I didn't know the kids involved. There are just some heart breaking stories in the world.

Ok friends, it is time you know why our Judy has asked for your positive vibes, reposting a comment she put on Facebook earlier-

Ok friends, things are moving along ... tonight I sleep in my own bed for the last time in a while. I will head to the hospital and spend some days there after getting a biopsy an a brain tumour. It doesn't sound like fun, but that's what has to happen. Thanks for all your kind thoughts. :)

Oh Judy, positive prayers that they are able to get all the tumor and you will have a good outcome.
There are many people who have gone through what you are about to and have then had many long years after.
I am tired of hearing about Bl**dy cancer!

Hi folks...
Have just looked back to see when last I posted or caught up with the news... 27th November.. the last week to 190days has been hectic.. since I arrived home from my drumming retreat. Have made a couple of posts on FB so a few of you have caught up on my news.

Was shocked to log in there before and read Judy's post. Truly shocked. Particularly considering how I spent my day. I started the pre-op work up... Doctors, consent forms, bloods, ECG etcetera..

I have been putting this off for so long that I had to go back in to see the specialist and resign the consent form... need to go and see a GP I have never seen before tomorrow because the referral to the specialist had also expired.. I won't have any of the results back before Christmas and I know I have no one to thank but myself for that. Same thing again if they are not good... this should have been sorted this time last year..
Enuff said on that matter!!

Hmm.. the 190 days had me wondering.. try 10 days.. FFS strikes again [fat fingers hit more than one key at a time]

The heat last week nearly toppled me completely.. had a singing engagement at the Sofitel [swanky hotel in the CBD] and had so much trouble learning the words..
Extreme heat + Bean = near comatose state... slept a lot.

Was traveling in the hottest part of the day .. not good.. but it was totally worth it. We sang like angels and were applauded voraciously. Put us in fine fettle for the BIG gig on Sunday last..
Singing at the Melbourne Town Hall. Will post some links to the youtubes once they become available. the choir and the wonderful people I sing with have become an important, very important part of my life.

Between that and the earthy and grounding nature of the African drumming I am experiencing a lot of joy in my life right now. Life is good.. really good... apart from the little previously mentioned matter..

Time for bed... I hope Judy is sleeping... peacefully. Gail can you please SMS me when you hear any news... have no idea when I will be back on line after tomorrows round... early afternoon hopefully.

Hi all. Just a quick stop in. Had to stay at school until almost 7 for a parent assembly. Got to speak to one of the parents I really needed to and then got cornered by a few others. Dylan and I have to be up really early tomorrow for his field trip. Have to be at the school by 5:30 am to get on the bus.

Good Evening, Everyone!

Welcome to SA, Hawkmoon!

Broni, thanks for the update on Mamacita!

Suzy, how is it that no one knows what the teacher's classes were doing? Doesn't her school require lesson plans? Are there any established guidelines as to the curriculum and approximate timelines to finish the classwork by the end of the year? It sounds like a challenging situation. Good luck to an amazing substitute! (Don't look around you; I'm talking about you, Suzy!)

Heidi, I hope whatever happens will be the best for Maxine and her baby! (I noticed Rolanda's 'seal of approval' also. I have a theory, but I'm not sharing it just yet.)

As I continue to read comments, I see that Rolanda has given a hint, which confirms my theory, I believe.

Welcome back to SA, Mama! We have missed you! We hope your recovery is quick and you return to 'full steam ahead' mode soon!

Judy (and Rob), we are thinking of you and sending positive thoughts, healing vibes and prayers as you face this new challenge. {{{HUGS}}}

Bean, it's so wonderful to hear how the singing and African drumming have brought such pleasure to your life! Hang on to all that positivity as you face your upcoming challenge. We'llkeep you in our thoughts and prayers and send healing vibes in your direction, as well!

I like to think of SA as providing a circle of support around each other. As we all stretch out our arms to embrace each other in a warm hug, I imagine our hands coming together and picture our little group holding each other up when the going gets tough or scary. I'm sending lots of {{{{{{ H U G S }}}}}}, positive thoughts, healing vibes and prayers for all of you and your loved ones. I hope it increases your strength and resolve tenfold!

Thanks Mama and Julie for your comforting words....
Julie I see our SA family the same way.. I think we all receive emotional comfort and a whole lot more..
Cyber hugs and prayers are the best.

I've just been VERY naughty... Jai thought it was time Lachie and I were educated... Chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs and maple syrup... OMG..
DELICIOUS!! Back onto my eating healthy regime..it is good to break free occasionally..

Jai is hoping that she might be able to take Lachie across the pond mid year and show him her turf.. Boone in Northern Carolina.
If health allows I will try to co-ordinate a trip after they return ...
