Love is the greatest gift you have to offer. Give it freely.

I had to go and find my little book of inspiration when I realised we were about to turn the page.

Suzy - I should have put the word 'gutless' in inverted commas - their words not mine. The Prius only has a 1.5 litre engine and it has plenty of power if I need it. Obviously a V6 or V8 could round me up like I'm standing still - and they do.

I happen to like vehicles with power... that might be because I learned to drive in a car with a racing engine. 0 to 60 MPH / 96.5 KPH in 5 seconds flat, with a top speed of 240 MPH / 386 KPH. When I first let IH drive my Tundra (I had to go to the ER) he freaked out. He had been driving a Ford F150 V8, which he thought was the same class, but he discovered that the Tundra V8 had twice the power. He now drives a Tundra, too. And loves it.

Hi all. Busy day today and days will just get busier. I will be tutoring after school on Mondays and Wednesdays. As long as 10 kids show, I get paid. I will also be doing pullouts during my planning period to work with a small group of students that are really weak in math. I also got a call from a neighbor to tutor her son and also that a neighbor of hers needs a tutor and I was recommended. I might actually be able to catch up on bills. Unfortunately, all overtime ends in mid-April, as that is when the big state test is.

Hope this is a stinker of a jab Heidi!

So, apparently sudokus are good for the brain also, not just for meeting people! Lovely to see you posting Judy, must catch up soon.

Mama, talking of cars...I now drive a shopping trolley as hubby and I call it. It is a small Ford Fiesta, and has everything I need, not too many bells and whistles, though I wish I still had cruise control. I am a Ford girl, used to have an XR6, a performance Falcon. I loved it, but it seemed sill to be running a large 6 cylinder with only me in it most of the time.
My Fiesta is a hatchback, it's amazing what I can fit in it, but Bean's words of advice were wise, a station wagon might be easier for the inny/outy stuff.
Our 'other' car is the BMW convertible, hubby's mid-life crisis. We got it at a great price and it is a good investment.
We also have one of the company vehicles here, a Ford Ranger utility vehicle...I love driving it, I feel so high up! Love getting out of it, this massive vehicle with this pint-sized driver alighting ;)

I was just a baaaaaaad girl. I just bought some new birds: 4 baby cockatiels... 2 lutinos (white with orange cheek patches) and 2 pieds. They haven't been weaned yet, and once they are, I'll pick them up. They're only about a 4 hour drive each way to get them.

Happy Birthday June!

Not a great birthday present, sorry about your kitty.

Tami, as long as the overtime doesn't run out before the bills are paid!! My SIL used to run an English class at home for most of the summer break. She had 6 or 8 (can't remember exactly) kids come for a few hours 4 days a week (I think, might have been 5) for all but 2 weeks of the holidays. I remember thinking the kids' parents were really mean!

Cars: Mum used to drive a people mover - you know what I mean, the vans with the sliding doors. She used them to transport her craft to and from markets but kept using them when she no longer did markets because the smaller cars were agony on her hips...

Going back to cars once more (collective sigh) - I just remembered something bittersweet.
When my Mum was in Low Care and I had just got the Prius and she was very fidgety and unsure of where we were or what we were doing when I took her to see Dad in the months before he died. I discovered by accident that if I put on the GPS it settled her down. She would watch it intently and recognise the street names as we drove. It was like giving a new toy to a child.
Hadn't thought of that in a long time.

Hi, Everyone! It's always a pleasure to visit and see so many friends!

Looks like I've missed June's birthday. Happy Birthday , young lady! Did you celebrate with a cake at bowls? Did Ken get you flowers?

Happy Anniversary to Rolanda and Peter! (Well, it IS the start of a new year for them!)

Hooray for Judy and doing Sudoku puzzles, as well as chatting!

Suzy, you'll be a busy person with all the extra tutoring! But it certainly helps pay the bills!

It's time for me to get some sleep. Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and

June, how sweet! Pride of place?

Congrats on your win!! And I think eating too much is a birthday prerequisite...

I think I need to get to bed. Tahli's late night and early morning have worn me out. She got to have a long nap in the middle of the day...

I told Gil about his shoes, and offered to replace them. He surprised me and acted like a gentleman! He admitted that the shoes had seen better days, and he had just purchased a replacement pair. He then admitted that he was gonna throw the old ones away today, anyway, so I didn't have to replace them. What a relief!

Yes, Heidi, it really is my birthday today. And I am now officially a senior citizen. 65 years old - how did that happen?? I stopped my birthday being shown because I never visit Easy any more and would feel guilty to get birthday wishes from a lot of those people, lovely as they are. Greg still remembered, so I will have to get back to him.
Thanks you June, Heidi, Suzy, Brenda and Theresa for the lovely birthday wishes.
Not much doing today. Had dinner out last night with my sis and BIL and today Karin and kids are coming over and we will have lunch out. Col and I are not going out but I don't have to cook dinner, best part! Big combined family party on Fri night,it's Andrew's birthday then.
No more family birthdays until Hayley's in late May - WooHoo! We have such a spate of them from November until now.

Anecdote: I saw a pic on TOS and remembered something from the other day. In between dinner at Dana's and the movie, hubby and I dropped into KMart - the only 24 hour shop in town. When we were leaving hundreds and hundreds of bats were flying over in a long line. I didn't think they'd ever stop coming!! I then spent some time wondering where they were coming from or going to... and never did work it out. Maybe Mr Google knows.

http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/615195/flying-foxes-invade-the-shoalhaven/

Thi s is an old article, but I wonder if this is what I saw. 100,000 bats is possible from the sight I saw, but I have no idea if they were flying foxes, it was too dark to see more than an outline.

I always think I'll remember your birthday because the 16th was also Sully's birthday....but my mind is such a sieve I should know better. LOL

Flying foxes are larger than other bats, Suzy.

IH is trying to weasel out of taking me to the epidural. He doesn't want to waste his important time waiting for me. Considering he originally agreed to drive me, I'm not letting him out of his commitment.
