Hi every body.. HELP!!!

It has been far too hot over night and I am now too sleep deprived to want to go out for lunch. I did something I don't normally do.. I googled the his name... there are a few authors with the same name but I suspect I may have found 'him'[we discussed his genre & not a lot of people there..I actually suggested on the phone that we pool resources and write a joint best seller].. I'm feeling a bit gobsmacked.. so many books.. haven't downloaded any or started reading... wishing I was meeting him now without that extra knowledge..
Bean isn't very smart at times...

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

MizT, why not tell your friend Sue, who invited you, what you just asked us. That way if she still wants you to go to the luncheon you would not feel obliged to join the Bible Study group and could enjoy the day with the new comers.
Bean, just go and enjoy your lunch out. No matter a persons standing in the community we are all just ordinary people.

June... thank you...but I think I'm more worried he will make me a subject of his next book!!! LOL
He is more than a little intrigued with my frankness.. my ability to tell it as it is.. Apparently not many people confess to being far too overweight, having a few roos loose in the top paddock.. stubborn, don't suffer fools gladly, confrontational if provoked and heaps more... I think I hit him with every disagreeable aspect of my nature.. and there are plenty or so I have been told.. he had his chance to retract his invitation with just cause.. and he didn't... But then again he may not turn up...

My locksmith mate is on standby for a debrief if I find it all overwhelming.. I don't think I like or do dating at all well. The last date I went on prompted me to ask my date if it was a job interview.. that was before he told me he was studying law... then it all made sense.

Nothing wrong with being the subject of a book, Bean. If it's about you, it'll be a best seller, anyways. Fascinating and complex subject.

I'm all ready for the storm tomorrow. I have a good stock of food for the dogs, cats and birds, as well as for people. The day is supposed to start out with sleet and snow, then turn into straight snow. Translated, snow on the ground with ice underneath. NOT a good day for driving. The stores were packed today with people stocking up. Everybody remembers the big ice storm of a few years ago.

MizT... June has good advice. Tell Sue what you told us. Just remember, they will have some prayer service, even if it's a short one. I know that you aren't brain dead, so I can't imagine you joining a group that's devoted to studying one book of fiction as if it's a book of instructions for ones life.

I didn't have to do a single thing to get them back, either. PayPal straightened out their own mistake.

June, Heidi, thanks for the advice, I could do that. But, the problem of what to do about the invitation solved itself. I was hurting, took pain meds, sat in my recliner and slept through it :). In fact I slept most of the afternoon. But I do feel better now. I might be up all night, but I have a good book, good friends here on the internet and I will survive.

Heidi, perhaps the storm that is on the way to you is what caused my flare today. Nearby weather systems do that to me, too often. I hope you do not have to get out for a few days. I cannot believe you have such nasty weather forecast, and we have such mild above average temps forecast for us here. Just a difference of a couple hundred miles. (how far is it? you drove it and should know.)

I found another, very good, longer video of Ai Chi on YouTube. Actually 2 videos, over 20 minutes long total. I want to be able to do those as easily, as flowingly (is that a word?) gracefully as is done on this video. There seem to be a couple of positions, postures that are not on my graphic of Ai Chi Postures. I like those movements, and will add them to my private exercises in the pool.

Not a thing on TV tonight that interests me. I think I shall go pay some bills, online and then go read.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Have I scared everybody away?

I did my good deed for the day this afternoon. I let my fingers do the walking through the 'puter recently and found an adorable high chair for Maxine's baby. She needs one, so I bought it. Today I shipped the high chair to Maxine. All she needs now is a play pen, and I haven't found a nice enough one yet. I'm looking.
Her BF's new court date is Feb. 18th, so I'll be driving out there then. Since calving will have started, I'll have to do a VERY fast there-and-back. I'm also going to look for the closest place to her that rents U-Hauls. I may have to bring Maxine, Holly and all their stuff back here if BF goes to jail.

You posted as I was typing, MizT.

That's one good solution, all right. Don't go. That's what I would have done. That's what I always do with those kind of invitations.

Hi Everyone,
It's been a busy, cold day here and I'm getting ready to get in my bed and read awhile...but wanted to say hello.
Loved hearing from Tricia and Bean...both wanting out of possible good times, so Tricia sleeps through her date and Bean...hoping you went...If you become a subject of his book, we'll all buy it to see if he gets the bean speak right..if so,he may be worth hanging around with to see what else he may be capable of...He may be fifty shades of love or nothing...but take a chance to see if he has any value for you......lol...
Oh some of you have such interesting stuff come up...I remember when I did...but for now...breathing is good for me..so I'm off...see you around...Peace.
BTW...Feel better Suzy, and anyone else who is under the weather...Judy...I know you are working hard...you go girl...and Julie...you and hubby need to get some rest...tough schedules you have.

I just checked our hourly forecast, and they say the storm is going to hit us between 4 and 5 am, but will end here around noon. Apparently, we're going to miss most of the worst of the storm. We're a few miles to the west of the edge of the main storm.

Heidi and Tricia and all you people in the Northern Hemisphere - take car in the cold weather.
Meanwhile, we have torrential rain due to hit us on the weekend. It's moving slowly down the coast of Qld and flooding everywhere. Raining already but not bad yet. I'm glad it's a long weekend for Australia Day - it will mean less people with a need to be driving through floods. When Brisbane flooded in 1974 it was Australia Day weekend. They're lowering the water levels in the main dam that feeds Brisbane in the hope of avoiding any possible floods - and the fact that there's a massive class action from victims of 2011 in the works. They don't want another episode.

Take care everyone with weather problems.
The Environment Agency here has suggested everyone should build big snowmen to help alleviate the problem of possible flooding as the snow melts. We had so much rain before the snow came that the ground is saturated. Building snowmen will make the snow melt slower. Another solution would be just to pile the snow high, but that isn't as much fun :-)

LOL Mama..
I've had a lovely afternoon... glad I went..
Yes I could certainly have had 50 shades this afternoon... but he was respectful and understood NO... I hope we will become firm friends... but he isn't relationship material... yet... needs a few more trips around the block... or whatever it is that men do before they settle down. I'm not big on sharing.

He was very easy to talk to. The synopsis of his current book is seriously interesting. There isn't much we didn't talk about. He works [main job]with brain injury.. he studied in Philly Mama and it is favourite city other than down town Melbourne... Son in Manhattan, Daughter in London& another son in Canada .. he's a nomad.. I would never see him..

The sound of the impending disastrous weather about to engulf so many of the topsiders is seriously scary... Enjoy your hibernation Heidi and keep safe.. hope everyone else is equally well prepared.

Tricia.. perfect solution!!

Brenda that is a brilliant idea... if the rain doesn't wash them all away!!

CynB... fingers crossed for everyone up your way.. Must keep an eye on what is happening up your way. There is an exodus of family heading down for the wedding next W/E.. not to mention my house sitter..

Keep safe everybody

PS.. Nola did you get my message?

The roads here are solid ice, but the storm has moved to the east of us. It's over here. In a few hours the temps will rise above freezing and the roads will be safe to travel on. Meanwhile, IH decided to head to the plant on these roads. He has to sign pay checks today. The plant is 2 hours drive (on dry roads) to the east so he's driving back into the mess. His truck has 4WD, so he shouldn't have too much trouble.

Good morning or evening all.
It is very wet and windy here in Queensland. It reminds me of the weather when half of Qld flooded 2 yrs ago and we don't want a repeat of that. At least it will put a damper on the bush fires here and maybe help down south when it gets to those states.
I think all of the Australia Day celebrations have been cancelled except for the indoor ones. Police here, are advising us to stay off the roads unless you need to travel.

Bean, yes I got your email and have replied.Love reading your posts. It takes me awhile and with the help of others,I can read between the lines.

Hope you all stay safe in these extreme weather conditions for both north and south of the equator.

Catch you all later.

It was supposed to warm up above freezing today to melt the ice, but it didn't. It's way too slick outside to even walk safely. So of course, I have to go back outside to turn the cow's water off. I've been filling up their water tank.

Good morning everyone, hope you're all feeling fine. :)
Heidi, sorry I missed you before, people kept interrupting every time I got my thoughts under control ... So far, so good with the treatment, though I've started feeling a bit queasy lately. I'm told that's unusual, so maybe it's just a bug - I,ll see what happens.
Bean, sounds like you're having some interesting times! Hope you're having a bit of fun.
Yesterday was pretty cold for midsummer, and also quite cloudy, which was nice for working in the garden. I got a lot of gardening done and it looks so much better! Our garden is fairly pathetic, but maybe we can fix it up a bit ...?
My son has just headed off to India to perform in a kids' show there - I'm a bit worried, though everyone tells me he'll be fine. After this he comes home for a few days, then heads for Egypt! :0
Not much else to report - hope you're all well. :)

It's raining so heavily here that it's hard to hear. Looks like it will be a day at home doing nothing much. Ah well, there's the computer, the TV, a few books and enough food. I think we'll survive. Tomorrow is expected to be worse.
They don't think it will flood like it did in 2011, which is great. By Monday it will be clearing and by later in the week, back to high temps. At least we got our inverter back yesterday so when the sun returns we'll be generating power and savings.

At least with all that rain, the chance of fires is cut drastically. I can't imagine living anywhere that has so many fires. They scare me more than any other natural or unnatural disaster. As a child I used to have horrible nightmares about fire. I've been through hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes (including the one that went right over the top of me) and helped fight a fire at a friend's hog farm (I kept going back into the burning 4 acre building to rescue sows.... we saved over 600 of them, and continued trying until the firefighters physically prevented us from going back in) and I'd rather go through all of the other things again before dealing with another fire. My terror of fire is one reason I get so mad at people who clear out trees. Trees actually help form and attract rain clouds, as well as all of their other benefits. The more trees that are cleared increases the chances of droughts and fires. Our county was recently clearing away trees within 20 ft. of the road, and when they got to our property, I put my foot down and wouldn't let them touch a twig. I keep planting trees and encouraging wooded areas on the property to go back to the wild. And I refuse to allow logging. Mother Nature will take care of the planet if we let her. She gets very mad when we interfere, though.

Happy Aussie Day my friends.
Heidi, learn something new every day, did not know that trees attract clouds. I believe trees have there own way of reproducing from a fire.
What annoys me is when the so called greenies have influenced government to not clear and back burn the grassy areas beside a road or on and around properties. This happened in Victoria and lot of lives were lost due to beaurecrats thinking the know better than the farmers who have been doing this for generations. OK off my soap box!

Hi guys, read slow because I can't type fast right now. I'm forcing myself to do it though. There has been some excitement here the last couple of days... before any of you say too much I want you to know that the man in the bed across from me is/was a quadraplegic, he is a quadraplegic, I'm no longer in that bed, has been since he was 24, and the only thing he complained about was that they wouldn't let him go home. I had another stroke. I'm doing well. I have to learn how to type, use a knife and fork, etc again... but I'm good and I'm home. There are no xray techs or physios at work on holiday weekends so the doc reckoned I'd be better off at home where I'd have to do more for myself, kind of forced physio.... We know what caused the stroke, I made a silly decision about my pills, all sorted now.

Okay, it's as I suspected. Last time I had trouble with mental tasks, an easy sudoku took me longer than a medium had before etc. This time the easy sudoku was still easy, but finding an a on the keyboard is a major challenge. So this time I won't get out of physical therapy.

Our small area, SE of Brissie has had a temporary lull in the heavy rain this afternoon. Still raining but not heavily. There have been 3 tornadoes hit near Bundaberg this afternoon.
Heidi, bushfires scare me too, much more than most natural disasters. Strangely Qld doesn't have anything like the fires they have in southern states. However, the threat is always there! And with the climate changing, who's to say?
