I just got back from grocery shopping. Now I need to put the bucket on the tractor and do some cleaning (sorry about swearing) in the cow shed and on the hay feeding pad. I hate doing this because I really tear things up when the ground is this wet and muddy.

Hi! I finally have a few minutes to read as much as possible!

Hi, Victoria/Vicky, Suzy, Theresa, Broni, Gail, June, Brenda, Judy, Heidi, MizTricia, Nola, and CynB!

Victoria/Vicky, I hope your return home was MUCH better than the trip to work!

And so, the discussion of family/relatives/friends continues! Thank goodness we have a place like this where we can let out a gripe or two! As for me, my older brother is "John the Jerk", but other brothers are OK. My second sister calls ME "Mother Theresa", but I'm NOWHERE NEAR. If anyone, she should be Mother Theresa, as she's so sweet, kindhearted, considerate, always thinking and doing for others. She calls our youngest sister the Queen, as she seems to think she is. Amazingly, we can SOMETIMES all get along, if it doesn't have to last too long.

Gail, I love your "It is what it is!" My acupuncturist says it often, and I truly have come to realize how much the sentiment can help!

Suzy, I envy you and your sheets, blankets and doonas flying about as they dry in the wind. (I live in a community that forbids clotheslines. On the other hand, I haven't hung out clothes since I was living at home, so high school or college age, I guess. Sending along some more positive vibes for your Mum as she returns home. It's so difficult to have her far away. Thank goodness for her good neighbors!

Theresa, I'm so sorry to hear about your insomnia! Suzy, what a considerate husband you have to let you watch your "sleep" video in times of need. Luckily, my hubby can deal with my C-PAP machine, which makes a lot of noise, especially when it doesn't hold the seal on my face!

June, your vacation sounds wonderful! It will be hard to come back to reality. But, that's what you want a vacation for - to get away from reality, at least for a while!

MizTricia, I'm sending along some prayers that Tanya can get her meds worked out and back on an even keel. Hopefully both you and she will soon be better than new!

Gail, you inspired me to get going with the swishy thing. Nearly done with 2 loads dehsaw and 1 deird.

Heidi, 4 more calves! WOW! And probably a good idea to get a new cow when you get a new bull! Good luck on the bids for birds and hopefully the eggs were fertilized and will hatch little birds for you to enjoy!

Gonna watch an hour or so of TV with hubby. Hope to be back later! Reminder to self: start reading at top of page 116.

Well done Heidi. Maybe you can use him to attract some of the others.

Julie, my trip home was normal - just the usual 40 minutes. Luckily I quite like driving or I would have to get a job closer to home.

I'm not going to count on it, Vicki. I am bidding on 2 more females and 1 more male, so that'll give me 2 pairs.

I'm finally back & reading on p. 116.

Hello, CynB, Heidi, Tami, Suzy, Rolanda, and Victoria!

CynB, I hope you enjoyed the movie "Valentine's Day!" I was just reading about it - quite a few stars, including Julia Roberts and a young actress who is her niece.

Heidi, I wish I could help dry up the mud around your place! It sure causes problems! I hope all is well! Congrats on catching one of the Golden Pheasants!

Tami, you must have had a busy night after flinging! Have a good week at school! I hope to catch you here one of these days!

Suzy, I'm so glad your Mum will stay one more day in the hospital. She'll be another day stronger when she leaves!

Nola, apparently something very bad has happened in your area. I see that both Suzy and Rolanda have reacted & let Heidi know. Her reaction also leads me to believe that it is something quite unfortunate. I hope anyone wrongfully injured recovers!

BTW, last night's snow moved through more quickly than expected, so we only got about 6 inches of heavy wet snow. It sticks to trees & bushes, so we have a "winter wonderland." Next snow is predicted for tomorrow. (Sorry V Vici! I wish I could turn it around and send it your way!))

Afternoon all - I found 'Valentine's Day' quite confusing until the end. It was OK but had been compared to 'Love Actually' which, I thought melded together better.
The events in Bundaberg are resonating here in Brissie where we are already reeling after the stabbing death last week of a 12yo at school at the hands of another 13yo student. This violence has to stop!

I've been reading about the Bundaberg killer ... just can't understand how someone can do this. Such a sweet innocent looking child. Violence is a terrible thing to begin with, but when a child is involved it's horrendous. There is no punishment severe enough for the perpetrator. And I don't really want to hear about someone's difficult background as a child being to blame. We all carry baggage from our past and are yet able to deal with it. It's what should make us stronger as adults. It may sound harsh on my part, but that's the way I feel.

Congrats on finding the pheasant, Heidi!
CynB, about 15 years ago we had the same type of incident in my small town. A 14yo boy bludgeoned a 13yo girl to death. It all stemmed from him having a crush on her and it wasn't returned.
Victoria, when I was working out of the house I used to enjoy the car drive (even though my husband was doing the driving). It was the one time of day where nothing was expected of me and I could just relax for an hour or so. When we lived in the city I used to enjoy the bus ride for just that reason.
We are expecting light snow all week, but only 2+ centimetres at a time with temperatures hovering around the 0 mark ... should be a decent week. Right now there is light snow falling and it looks so Christmasy.

Gooday everyone.
The murder of an eight year old here has really rocked Bundaberg.Looks like they might have someone but there are different reports coming from one news to the next.I drive past the house on my way to work and that morning just after 5am I can't remember seeing anyone different. The same people walk there dog,jog or go up for the paper. She was found at about 6.30am.
Renae said she barely slept that night worrying about someone breaking in to her girls. She lives about 1kl,and the side of her place is on Walker St.
On the news, most parents accompanied there kids to school,as they are so scared.Such a senseless and despicable thing to do.

Nola, I agree with you, despicable. My thoughts are with the people of Bundaberg ... no one will sleep well until the culprit is caught.

There is one thing that could have saved that little girl..... a good dog in the house. It would have set off an alarm when the bd tried to break into the house. Even a small dog could have warned everyone.
