No bull? Heidi... hehe!
Thanks for the info about the bulls, would have never known myself, so I presume they are not in adjoining paddocks?

I have spent a lot of time today sorting photos. I have all the Thailand ones in a book. Lots of tigers!
The rest are in piles everywhere as I sort them out.
Bowls tomorrow so I hope it will not be too hot.

Just before I go - has anyone noticed any resemblance between posts from Sparks and a certain fellow from Boston? Or is it just me and my imagination?

I don't think you're imagining things, Vicki, 'cause I noticed it, too. The certain fellow from Boston may be using a phony name, address, etc. to get back on here to post. It screams pathetic and desperate. If it is him, I feel very sorry for him. He must have no life or friends whatsoever.

Just got back from the fasting blood tests and I'm sitting here with a coffee, finally. I waited almost two hours for the tests ... the line-up was looooong. There is only one facility in my town that does them, so unless you drive to the city you don't have much choice.
Have been reading all along, but not all of it has been retained in this old brain of mine. Heidi, sorry about the heifer, but glad the bulls are getting along. Gail, what a nightmare with the hail and your hubby's poor car. Tami, glad your cold is getting better. I love the family photo you posted on FB.
I have a doctor's appointment at 2:30 today, but it is within walking distance. Will have to get as much work done as possible between now and then, but just wanted to check in here and let everyone know I'm still around. I also have to schedule a mammogram and an ECG, plus get my eyes checked. Doctor's appointments never seem to end!
So take everyone. As I said, I have been reading everything ... I take a few minutes every day to get caught up. Glad Rolanda is home and on the mend, even if cranky. Hopefully I can catch up again later.

You DID warn us that you wouldn't be posting much for a week or so, Theresa. I hope all those tests are worth it, and you get the results you want or need.

Heidi, most of the tests are for my regular check-up ... the older I get the more involved the "regular" check-up gets. I guess it's all part of preventative medicine.
I just don't feel like working today. Just finished my breakfast!!! I think it's time for another coffee; I just can't seem to wake up today. I'm trying to get into the mood to work, got some oldie tunes on the radio ... where oh where is my willpower?

Morning sudokuland. It is sunny and warmer here today. I need to get outside for my walk and also run some errands up town. Huumm, I could wait and walk in the park, I love the park.

Not a lot going on here, I did read and then forget all I read and am on a new page so can't scroll back for a refresher, bummer.

Heidi, amazing you were there between your bulls while they ate.

Theresa, sory you had to wait fo long for fasting blood work, happens to me at my doc's office, they are always so busy. Blood is drawn at his lab and then anything they cannot run is sent off, at least I do not have to go to another lab to have it drawn.

Have a nice sleep Vicki, and all the Aussies.

June, hope the day is cooler for bowls.

Later friends and hugs to all.

You're right Heidi, my system has been thrown out of whack for the day. I am used to eating breakfast around 6:00ish, do the morning chores and then get to work. It's funny that I never really realized how routine oriented I am. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
MizT, my doctor's office always keep me waiting too. My appointment this afternoon is 2:30, but I'm almost positive they won't take me until closer to 3:30. However, if you dare to keep them waiting it's an entirely different matter!

Thanks Theresa, it was nightmarish. Today is the nightmare of the ring-around. Hubby got onto the insurance company yesterday (public holiday) but he is unable to make the calls to the panelbeaters and tow truck companies. I will not drive it half an hour away to the crash repairers, it is too unsafe.

Things move slowly when you don't want them to, Gail.
Just heard on the news earlier today there was an earthquake in Turkey with 50+ killed. What is going on with the world?
I only had to wait about 15 minutes at the doctor's office! Other tests have to be scheduled like x-rays of both hands and a chest x-ray. I think I must be paying a good part of my doctor's salary.
Off to visit the grandies for a short while. I thought I'd surprise them by going to the bus stop to pick them up with their mother.

Morning all!
Theresa, those long waits are worse when you haven't even got to have your morning coffee! Or tea if you prefer. I always show up for them at least 30 minutes before the place opens. That usually puts me only 7th or 8th in line. I've yet to be early enough to be 1st in line - and the place opens at 7.30am! They've got this great system where you don't check in for regular tests, only unusual ones, you just take a number from the desk. It's like snatch 'n grab some days...

Heidi, I don't get the impression from your photos that you are a very tall person, so the image I have of you scratching the backs of 2 gigantic bulls is, um, awesome?

Gail, I hope the calls go well today. I agree about driving 30 minutes with no windscreens and a bunch of body damage - a tow truck seems like a good idea. I'm guessing the problem will be finding someone who isn't already snowed under with repair jobs and can fit you in! What public holiday did you have yesterday? We didn't get one!!

June, when you're done organising your photos we may just have to find an excuse to go to Sydney for the day - I'd love to go through the books with you!

I'll be travelling to Shellharbour at the beginning of April. A friend is having her hysterectomy on the 31st of March and she is so far away she will not get many visitors. I want to take up some magazines etc. It's going to be sucky surgery. Her first c-section was a butcher job, and a local doc tried to remove her cancer cells last year and did another butcher job - hence the surgery far from home... Can you believe it will be almost 5 months since they found the cancer cells before she gets her surgery????

Heidi, I just went back to re-read the last page - 2 bulls and all those cows! If they were young men I'd say they were in heaven!

Rolanda, you will have to plan another weekend away once you get your new van just to try it out! If the buyer of your old van travelled 200km in 2 hours, you either have excellent roads or he was speeding most of the way....

Labour Day Suzy. WA had there's last weekend, yours is probably in May.
I am ringing the numbers the Insurance company gave us, and I am not expecting fast results. The panel beaters have been engaged and I have been trying since 8, on the dot!

Hello, Everybody! Sending out positive vibes for all those who can use them! Looks like I didn't get here yesterday, so quite a bit of reading to do.

Hello, Suzy, Broni, Gail, June, Heidi, Tami the T, Rolanda, Victoria, MizTricia, Theresa, and anyone else I've missed!

Suzy, Broni and Gail, in our house, hubby-made dinner means taking a frozen pizza out of the box and placing it in a pre-heated oven. (NOT that I'm complaining. My knee situation for so long prevented long hours of preparation/cooking, so we learned to be happy with quick and easy.)

Heidi, I was also surprised that the vet thought the heifer could safely be bred next year. But, as they say, it's a moot point now, since she didn't make it through the night. Tough for her and tough for you! I'm glad the two bulls get along. That will make things SO much easier for you!

Tami, I hope you and Mitchell continue to feel better. I can't imagine what the mother who called about tutoring thought could be accomplished in a few hours. On the other hand, some children can benefit from tutoring on how to take a test, which might relieve some anxiety and save some time agonizing on test day.

Rolanda, I hope you are feeling much better and more rested today! Will the caravan you sold change hands immediately? If so, that means you will be "van-less" until your new one is completed. Are there any long weekends coming up?

Victoria, I'm glad you were able to visit your Mum and MIL all in one weekend! Will you plan something special for next weekend - or just try to fit in the usual activities? So glad you didn't need to offer blood now and can wait until August!

Heidi, I loved the story about Rede & Yahtzee being fed and scratched. I had this amazing picture of a "Heidi sandwich" - you between two contented bulls eating! It sure points out the sensibility of purchasing show bulls!

June, your photo albums will be such fun to look at & share! Well worth the effort!

Victoria, I'm glad you mentioned the similarity you noticed. As that particular person has been known more than once in the past to visit SA, I will say no more.

Theresa, I hope all the blood test results come back within the correct range! What fun to surprise your grandies and meet them at the bus stop! Thanks for popping in to let us know how things are going!

Gail, what a nightmare after the nightmare! Isn't it bad enough that the car received a;l that damage - and you and hubby were in it at the time? Frightening enough, I'd say! Now you get to deal with insurers, repairers, etc. I guess that means the insurance company doesn't think damages are enough to consider it totaled? Good luck!

Suzy, sending prayers and loads of positive vibes for your friend who will have surgery at the end of the month! It sounds like she has had her share of unfortunate experiences with medical "professionals."

Suzy... I'm average height.... 5' 6". The older bull, Rede, is not tall, just long, wide and heavy. He weighs about 2,000 lbs. He's as tall as a small horse, just a LOT heavier. The younger bull, Yahtzee, weighs just under 1,000 lbs. He's about the height of a large pony. It's no stretch to scratch their backs.

I decided to switch to a clover avatar - not really a shamrock and too far away from St. Patrick's Day to use a leprechaun.

Heidi, I was also imagining your bulls being taller than you are.

Theresa, my knees are still coming along - lots of exercises and exercising to keep range of motion. There is some aching, depending on the exercise I'm doing at the moment. What bugs me most is a 3/8 inch section of the lower end of the right incision. It currently has a scab, which has been on for about 2 weeks. Prior to that, a scab would form, then break away in a day or two and continue on repeatedly. It's keeping me from being able to get in the pool. (I don't know what, if anything, is going on under the scab. Stairs continue to be difficult, and since I don't need to go upstairs in our house, I'm probably not practicing enough. Thanks for asking. I hope all goes well at your doctor appointment today!

Julie... I vividly remember one purebred bull I had, without show training, who decided that his goal in life was to squash me like a pancake. If I stepped 5 feet into a 40 acre field he was in... on the far side... he would come at me at a dead run, snorting and bellowing. I would have to dive under fences, or out through the gate, and he'd be on the other side pawing the ground, snorting and shaking his head. He'd charge if I made a move towards the fence. The only way I could go in a pasture with him was on horseback. He convinced me of the importance of training and gentling anything that powerful.

Suzy.. the new section of the extented Freeway between Bunbuy and Perth was completed late last year, which makes the journey quicker.. doing the 100ks an hour.. and we live South of the City.
The trip is easily done in 2 hours and he started really early, around 6.30 in the morning, being a Sunday, less morning traffic.
Remember I live in Perth, where the traffic is so so hetic as in Sydney.

Julie, yes a while before our next Van Holiday.. Sigh!!!!
Next long weekend is Easter.. we couldn't get into the Caravan Park we wanted too anyway. Good time to be pottering about in the Garden.
Anzac Long Weekend.. 25th April. Would have been nice to go away, I need to have further discussions with the boss, about making the long awaited wall unit for his mum, and have it installed that weekend, while she is away in Scotland (she leaves this coming Thursday, and not back till mid May).
June Long Weekend. First Monday in June. Away in the hills in cottages with Friends. We do this every year on the June LW.
Was talking to a Friend who has a beach house, we might spend a normal weekend with them, in June.
I have plans of going to Sydney with my Mum in May, still to be confirmed, for a couple of weeks.

Back again. I'm trying to rearrange my cupboards so that the dishwasher can fit - we still haven't installed it. When we moved in we took out the old, broken, dishwasher and converted the space to cupboards. Now I just have to work out where that stuff can go. Theresa, I hope the test results are good news!

Julie, you hubbie made dinner sounds like our mummy made dinner.... I will have to try to make some sort of effort tonight as we will have a guest, though I will probably stick with the old faithful spaghetti. What does your doctor say about your scab? I can imagine that the pool would be wonderful exercise for your knees so that would be a hassle.

Heidi, bulls seem taller than that to me, but that's probably because I look at them in the paddocks rather than from right next to them. As I have no idea whether these ones are 'tame', I'm not going near them! I love the view from my kitchen window, but am glad it's a view and not a lifestyle...

Gail, I hope you've been able to reach a smash repairer by now.
