Nola, I think you did the right thing, as has been discussed here recently, sometimes there is nothing else for it but a good cry! Wish it could be easier for you, but if the training is this hard, the job should be a cinch!

Hi all,
Just to give you some background, Suzanne's aunt does not have kids and they have always been very close. Suzanne lives almost 3,000 miles (4828 kilometers) It is not easy to drop everything and travel across the country.
Theresa, thoughts going out to your granddaughter. I hope they find nothing. Maybe it was just a dream she was having.
Heidi, what is the count for calves this year?
Rolanda, also wishing you a speedy recovery.

Finally getting here tonight! Good Evening, Everyone!

Hello, Heidi, Gail, Rolanda, Suzy, V Viv, Suzanne, June, Theresa, Nola, Tami, and anyone I have missed!

Heidi, I remember the difficulties with Indiana and Daylight Savings Time, as Illinois is a neighbor to the west of Indiana. It's no fun driving through, or trying to get there for a specific timed event, as a wedding or competition, as I recall. Good news for Sassy that she will live out her live on your farm. I hope the storm passed without too much trauma for the dogs - and you!

Gail, thanks for the menu. Some inspiration for the coming weeks!

Rolanda, good news that you won't need to take a thyroid supplement, but understandably discouraging news that the recovery time isn't faster. We are always so impatient with ourselves and our rate of recovery! Are you using anything on scar tissue? I think I cut open Vitamin E capsules & spread the Vit. E oil on my neck. For my knees I'm using Palmer's Cocoa Butter & Vit. E or alternately Mederma. Hope you enjoyed the visit of relatives! Allow yourself the time it takes to heal and get back to "normal."

I'm glad the Pride outing went well! What a good idea to reassure the new girl's Mum by showing her video from when others were new. You are so right about working for yourself - good advice to Suzanne and Viv!

Viv, you sound busy as ever!

June, you sound busy as well. I hope all goes well with the men's bowls!

Oh, dear, Nola! How awful that they messed up the assignments! Do they not understand the extra work and inconvenience to the students? But you're right; all you can do is move in. "It is what it is." (Wow, I typed that, now see that Suzy said the same thing.) Hopefully you can look at it as an activity that may have solidified what you learned, so beneficial to you in the long run! Sorry to hear about your difficulties with phone and internet, also! We have missed you!

Theresa, good news from the doctor about no clear sign of epilepsy. I hope your youngest grandie comes through the EEG showing no signs, as well! Keeping fingers crossed.

Wishing cooler temperatures for those who are too warm, rain for those needing to fill the catchments, sun for those too cold or wet, sufficient time to get done what needs to be done and still enjoy life and family, good health for everyone, peaceful nights of sleep to those who are tired and feelings of love and inspiration to all!

Wow, looks like Heidi wasn't kidding when she said she was going to feed the dogs and go to bed! As Tami said, we had an opportunity to chat on the other popular site this evening. I know many of you have already seen the family picture from Mitchell's Bar Mitzvah - a great looking family on a proud day!

I think it's time for me to head off to the Land of Nod. Hugs to everyone! I hope to be back at some point tomorrow. Good NIght!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts everyone.
Next week is March Break for schools here. I am thinking that I will probably be called upon for extra duty ... my daughter has tendonitis in both wrists. She has to start a physio routine.
Hope you had an excellent sleep, Heidi!
That is a very long trip for Suzanne to see her aunt. What a conundrum (not sure of spelling).

Gail...sounds like Bill is a very special man and he deserves special company.
Heidi..enjoy your well earned sleep.Lots of new calves and a few birds as well to keep you busy.
Julie...it sure is handy having you do a run down on what is happening here.Lovely sentiment too.
Tami...have things settled down now that the exams are over? You could probably do with holiday!

To everyone else, look after yourselves.I'm off to have a look at Junes pix.Catch you later.

Evening all!
I was going to try to reply to posts, but it seems like that isn't a great idea right now. A side effect of my crying jag this week has been a great deal of pain in my jaw when I try to use it - related to my car accident more years ago than I want to count. Based on how doctors have treated this in the past, I asked the chemist today if there were muscle relaxants available over the counter, and the only ones he had came in either a pain killer or a sleeping pill. I chose the sleeping pill, needless to say it is taking me a long time to type this - lots of corrections... Hopefully I will be able to read and type better tomorrow, for now I will just check the baseball forms are printing okay and then go to bed.... night all

The second batch of Canary eggs were infertile. I then decided to give the pair a rest to let them mature more, and took their nest out of the cage. The female didn't like that idea and has built a nest in one of their feeders, and has started to lay MORE eggs. I'm not going to hold my breath on these hatching.

I got hay fed to all the critters.... 8 rolls in all. It's a lot harder with my tractor acting up. The 4WD is the main problem, so I try to use it only in 2WD. Since it's muddy again, I keep getting stuck, and have to put in back in 4DW to get un-mired. Then I get to listen to all sorts of bangs and crashes and hesitations.

Greetings to all, I have read, thought appropriate thoughts and now cannot remember, Senior moment?? CRAFTs?

Yesterday we ran errands, I had to pay water bill, I go pay in person, they are incompetent there, or malicious, mail never reaches them on time and they add on a late fee!! So we plan a trip south for shopping and I drop by in person to pay and get my receipt. If you cannot tell, I am not happy with our water department, so I make the best of a bad situation.

I saw Pear trees with opening buds, the trees look like they are covered in this strange grey green fuzz at the moment! My pear trees Have just barely cracked open buds, a few days behind the ones I saw, always have been later, Spring is on it's way! There were tulip trees, well actually they are saucer magnolia, but have flowers that as they start to open look like pink tulips on a specimen sized tree. They do not usually boom before the bradford pears, unusual spring. Here is a link to photos of them if you are interested.
http://images.google.com/images?q=saucer%20magnolia%20trees&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US :official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi

I bought flowers! this latest cool spell we are having is not forecast to go below freezing so I bought a few things to go in pots. They had snapdragons, I got a deep ruby red, enough for one pot. I bought a rosemary plant, the clippings I will take to cut it back, it is a bit leggy and needs to branch out, would have cost more than the plant, if I had bought them dried as spice, so my money back right from the start! sort of.

Lets see, got something else too, some bright orange daisy shaped zinnias, about size of a dime, the flowers that is. Those should bloom till frost, love zinnias for that.

OH, I bought tulips almost ready to bloom, those I will put in a container and bring inside for my kitchen table, they had just marked those down to $1 a container, and I got 4 of them, enough to look nice and cheap enough, I just NEED flowers

I did not get a nap yesterday but I feel one coming on today. I need lunch and then it is time to rest, see you all later. Have been sleeping well and long at night, so happy about that. I do remember Theresa being sleepless in Canada, know how that is, wish I could share some of my extra sleep with you, will exchange for some energy if you have any to spare???

Morning all!
Tami, excellent news about your computer! Which reminds me, back ups are in order today....

Heidi, I'd love one of the things you listed. I think it's time I accepted the fact that the 'fix' made about 20 years ago is wearing out and it's time to visit the docs again. Don't wanna! How much longer until the part comes in for your tractor?

MizT, Ally would love it at your house. She loves to cut flowers and put them in a vase in her bedroom.

Nola, how did your study go? I was wondering if the stress of thier mistake was making it hard to concentrate.

I'm off to have dinner out. IH's cousin is in town and has invited us over. The only problem is that his dogs don't like me... they're sheep guard dogs, and I probably smell like strange dogs... and bite me every chance they get. Actually, his miniature dachshund bites me, too.

Enjoy your new computer Rolanda. I am thinking of a new laptop over the summer if finances allow it.
I am using Mitchell's laptop as I don't feel like sitting at mine, I am relaxing in my bed. Mitchell has a sinus infection so he has been in bed all day. The antibiotics are starting to help and he is feeling a little better. He will rest tomorrow and hopefully be able to go to school on Monday. He is not happy about being sick over the weekend. Luckily his doctor has office hours on Saturday for sick kids.

Afternoon all!
The family is home again. Ally spent the weekend with the grandmother of a friend up the coast. They saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D. Boy have 3D glasses improved since I saw them last! Her friend plays guitar and has a super good quality one that her other grandmother gave her for christmas. They played and sang in a park and had little kids sit around them and request songs. The father of some of the kids had a chat to them. Later they were playing and singing at the beach. The same guy was there with his kids and took a photo of them - he said he was going to bring it to one of their concerts so they could sign it and he could say 'I knew them before they had a name'. I wish for the good old days where I didn't have to sit here and wonder about him...

Ebob and hubby were at sign ups for senior baseball. Hubby is hoping to play a little this year too. He was talking to the coaches about missing practice next week - Ebob and Ally are going to be going to a St John's camp and he and I will be celebrating our anniversary. Ah, so a dirty weekend, laughs the coach and his wife. ewewewewewewew said Ebob and ran away!

Children do like to forget how they came into the world don't they? Parents are not to have a s ex life, at all. Some of them do not want to think about it for some reason. I thought it was cute myself when I figured out why our father drove the 4 of us children to the 10 cent movies on Saturday mornings, and was in such a good mood when he came back to pick us up hehehe. Where else could he get a babysitter and an empty house for a dollar (counting the 15 cents we got for a soda and candy bar).

Rolanda, glad you have a new puter, know you will enjoy it. Did your sons help to get it set up for you?

Tami, glad your puter had a successfull tweaking and is now running better. Hope Mitchell is all well by Monday. Tell him I said get well soon.

Your little Canaries are sure set on being parents this spring. Hope they get it right soon.

Suzy, it does sound like time to go back to the doc about your facial reconstruction. Hopefully they can do something about the pain you are having. There is a drug here called percogesic, it is an over the counter med, and it is a mild muscle relaxer. It is a combination of tylenol and this other drug that acts as muscle relaxer and also a potentiatior to the tylenol. It is listed as an antihistamine but this is another action of the drug. It does not make me sleepy. I wonder if something like that is available in Oz? The name of the generic drugs in the combination are

acetaminophen and phenyltoloxamine (a see ta MIH noe fen and fen ill toe LOX a meen) and other names for it here are
Apagesic, Dolorex, Duogesic, Flextra DS, Genasec, Percogesic

Some of those do have a bit of caffeine in them, or some of them do, to counteract the drowsy of the antihistamine. Doc just recently prescribed the prescription version of this for me till we came up with a better one.

Seems we've had a relatively quiet day/night here! Good Evening, Everyone!

Hello, Theresa, Nola, Suzy, Heidi, MizTricia, Tami and Rolanda! Hello to our MIA's also!

Theresa, I hope you get a deliciously restful sleep tonight! Wishing the same for others behind in their sleep, like Suzy and Heidi!

Theresa, good luck next week if you have a lot of grandie-sitting duties! Prayers and positive vibes for your daughter to recover quickly from her tendonitis!

Nola, I can't imagine how the mix-up with assignments for your course must make you feel! Sending positive vibes and lots of cheerful thoughts to help you overcome and go on to complete some outstanding assignments! That will show them!

Suzy, I'm so sorry to hear that your good cry has caused excessive pain in your jaw. I hope you have an excellent doctor who can straighten out everything and get you some relief!

Heidi, at least you have to give the female credit for trying! She sounds determined to nest, with or without the nesting box. Just sit back and relax and let nature take its course, and one day you'll be surprised with some little canary hatchlings! Wow, 8 rolls of hay! Do the critters need that much every day? I hope your tractor mechanic works wonders on the other tractors waiting to be fixed so that he can get to yours in lightning speed! In the meantime, good luck! Heidi, I hope your dinner out with IH and his cousin was enjoyable. With luck, his dogs didn't bother you too much! (Does he have any control over his dogs?

Ah, MizT, fresh and growing flowers! Sounds wonderful! I'm glad you got your errands done yesterday, including paying the water bill! Sounds like a number of incompetent people run the water department!

Tami, so glad to hear that your pooter is now zipping along! I hope Mitchell is feeling better tomorrow! Sinus infections are NO fun!

Rolanda, I'm so excited for you getting a new pooter! Is it a desktop or a laptop! Any bells and whistles? Inquiring minds would like to know!

Suzy, hopefully all was innocent in the interest from the kids father! Luckily, they were in public places (with quite a few people around, it sounds like)! Good luck to your baseball players this year! I can imagine Ebob would run away after such a comment. I would have been uncomfortable too. It's just not a comment to be made in front of a girl/young woman. The couch could easily have kept it to himself!

MizT, I'm writing those down to ask the chemist about. I suspect that it might be more surgery though. 20 years ago an oral and maxillo facial surgeon used silastic sheeting like an irritant so I could 'grow' new cartlidge in my jaw joints. I always wondered how long it would last. The only problem is that insurance companies like to classify it as dental surgery which means they don't cover it. It cost me almost $4000 20 years ago, who knows what it would cost now!! If I go through the public system it would be covered, but I will be on waiting lists and it could take a few years to happen. I wonder if we have a surgeon in town now who could do it? I had to get the last one in Sydney.

Julie, although there are a couple of younguns in senior baseball, most of them are over 30, some over 50 and Ebob is often mistaken for older than her 17 years.

Rolanda, your new computer sounds wonderful! You won't know yourself! I forgot about getting all of your stuff out of the caravan - and storing it until you get the new one. Yikes!

Heidi, I think it's lovely that your canaries are nesting. We've seen Baby carrying feathers up to TipTap. Wish he/she would finish changing colour because so far we think he might be a he and the feathers thing is a lot of wishful thinking!

Speaking of #1, he made the newspaper today. On page 3 they were talking about only 2 male graduates in Early Childhood in all of Queensland (yes, he's one of them).
