I had another miserable night... I haven't been sleeping well due to nausea since the surgery... and I've spent the past half hour worshipping the porcelain god.
I suspect that it's the antibiotic, but I'm only on it for a few more days.

Can you guys do me a favour and not say anything on FB about this trip to Australia. The reason we are coming there is for a wedding (Richard's eldest step daughter) at the moment we haven't said if we will be able to go or not. Would hate for her to find out before we tell her ourselves.

Good morning Sudoku friends. I am popping in without reading today, hope to get back and catch up later.
Busy day yesterday. Al and I went to lunch, and then shopping. I bought him a new battery powered weed eater. He was complaining of a sore arm and shoulder from cranking his gasoline powered one. He said it could be his anniversary, Father's day, and birthday gift hehehe.
OH, I found me a pair of navy long pants, cause I had to toss the ones in my closet. I did not have to buy in the plus size dept. OK they are very forgiving, knit and elaSTIC WAISTE, BUT i AM STILL PROUD OF THEM!!
oooops, sorry for the caps.
must run, have a few serohc to do today. Hugs to all.

Woo hoo Brenda!!! Mum's the word on fb, I won't mention it until you do. How exciting! Which part of Oz, east or west coast?
I'm not here, I'm taking up Ebob's new school pants.
Vicki, I hope you got out in time for your night out. Unreliable people!!
MizT, that is wonderful news about your new clothes! I keep resisting the urge to buy bigger ones (which I really need at the moment) because I'm going to lose the weight again...
Heidi, feel better!

I see you broke the news Brenda. We will all help you plan.
Victoria, I do hope that technician turned up.
Good shopping again Tricia.
Heidi, I wish you could relax a bit and it might help all your health problems.
Some much needed rain overnight. I am supposed to be umpiring at bowls today and then off for a squashy test. I just hope the rain does not make the bowls run late.

Good morning everyone!
Brenda, that's gret news that you are coming to Australia.
Heidi, I hope you are feeling better soon.
Thanks for your concern. I got away from work at 5pm. I had the whole system shut down and ready for the compuuter guy to come and remove the server. It only took him 20 minutes when he finally arrived.
Fortunately, I'd snuck out and gone to Coles when he was delayed, so I only had to cook when I got home and not stop to buy food as well.
The dog and I had a quiet night eating Licorice Allsorts and watching Desperate Housewives. I had to put the lollies away to stop the dog wanting to eat them all. He has quite a sweet tooth.
Oh well, it's back to work with no computer this morning. I'm not sure what we are expected to do - filing (I hate filing!).
Enjoy your day everyone!

I have a funny for you. Last night I was feeling very blaa, think it is my meds. Anyway I decided it would be a good idea to lie down to see if my tummy would feel any better. I drifted in and out of sleep until about 5 this morning. That's a looooong time for me! When I woke up hubby told me about all of the excitement I'd missed - a fire at the back of next door's property with fire engines and something exploding. They had a pile of rubbish back there and it was well alight. Hubby thought he saw some people running away from it.
Once the sun came up, about 1.5 hours after I did, I noticed that the young frisky lawn mower was in the house yard. Panic stations! How did he get in? Where were the dogs? I got half way up the yard, in the rain, before I remembered the fire and realised hubby must have let him in!!

Suzy, sorry you missed all the excitement. You really must have needed the sleep. Every once in a while I will fall asleep early and the boys will tuck me in.
Julie, as far as I know it was his first time asking a girl for a slow dance. He is almost as tall as me. Only about a 1/2 inch difference. He constantly reminds me of the fact. I remember the day I out grew my mom so I know how he falls.

Good news/bad news! Aunty Vi is coming out of hospital tomorrow. She's going to stay with her son for a while until she's able to cope on her own ('I can cope now' she says). However the oncologist has ruled out any treatment because of her age so the prognosis isn't good but we knew that. For the time being she feels great and is looking forward to getting on with her life! Go Vi!
Suzy - as someone said, you must have needed that sleep.
Heidi - pleased you're feeling better.
Brenda - my lips are sealed on FB!
Tami - how exciting - only 15 more school days!
Hi to Gail, Vicki, MizT, June and anyone else who's around.
I'm feeling better this morning, won't go near Mum or Vi until I'm sure though, don't need either of them to get a cold.

Heidi, sounds like a population explosion among your finches. Hope all goes well with weaning them. so sorry to hear about JoJo. I guess with your having elderly collies, it is expected, but still hard. How is Rain? new meds helping her?
busy day today, had to buy groceries. Had not in 4 weeks, and had to have Al for helper, so it took forever. Did you know that a shopping cart (trolley) pushed with only the right hand will pull to the right?
did too much with the hand, it is swelling, fat fingers tonight. also huryt, so I am signing off and hunting pain meds. see all later. I did read and thought appropriate thoughts, honest.

Theresa, thought of you today and bought something just for you. WalMart had a large (3 inch sq cups each) 6 pack of wave petunias, for $5.50, lots better than the $4 I paid for 1 in a quart container. I bought some, just for you, but I think you will have to come here to visit them hehehe,
my first wave now has 45 blooms in it, and fills that container.

Hello, Everybody! Hi, Heidi, Gail, Victoria, Brenda, Suzanne, Rolanda, CynB, MizT, Suzy, June, Tami the T, and anyone I inadvertently missed!
Heidi, to your colors I would add a little pink or rose color as well. I love lilacs, and we have several varieties, though one of the varieties hasn't blossomed yet this year. The problem is that the color only lasts a few weeks at best, then we're back to just green. We planted a redbud tree last year and were disappointed that we didn't get more color than we did, but again, after about a week or so, all we have is green leaves. That's why we're looking into various colors of foliage and not just relying on blooms. I should look into purple smoke trees.
Gail, I read about your approach to counteract the clay. Under about 1 inch of topsoil, we have clay as well. Looks like we should be taking notes from you and your hubby! Sounds like you're getting a lot of work done!
Vicki, sounds like you had a good weekend. I'm so sorry to hear about the troubles with your eye! Please take care of yourself! You're so thoughtful to cover your dog with a blanket. One of our cats likes to burrow between the sheets once we're out of bed. She will sleep ON a fleece throw on the bed, but if I try to cover her, she wants no part of it. (I'm just trying to keep her out of the sheets, but maybe she knows that.) So sorry you had to wait around for the computer guy! Nice TOPP!
Ooh, Brenda! I'm jealous that you'll be heading to Australia next year! I know you will have a WONGERFUL time! I've heard there are some REALLY nice people who live there!
Suzanne, I hope you have a chance to do some traveling this year! At least you have your class reunion to look forward to!
Rolanda, I hope your MIL's trip home was uneventful!
Heidi, I hope your tummy will soon be back to normal! (You're probably right about the antibiotic causing the trouble.)
MizT, you had a busy day yesterday! Hope Al likes his present! So proud of you that you no longer need to shop in the plus size department! Hopefully, one day . . .
June, I hope the rain didn't delay the bowls game! (My squashy test is tomorrow.)
How is your eye feeling?
Vicki, I hope you didn't have to file ALL day!
Suzy, your light nap must have been a heavy sleep to miss all of the excitement! As so many have said, you must have really needed it!
CynB, read your mixed news about Auntie Vi! She has such a wonderful attitude. Perhaps she subscribes to Gail's, "It is what it is." Sending prayers for her. I hope you feel better soon!
Heidi, your dinner sounds yummy! I hope all goes well with the setting of the trusses tomorrow! Also with the weaning of baby finches. (BTW, how does one wean baby finches?)
Gotta run for now. May be back later.

Julie... I wasn't feeling good when I started that colors post, and I sort of lost my train of thought there. Those larger plants are used as backdrops here for purple, blue, pink and white smaller flowering plants such as Irises, petunias, and various water plants. So I do use some pinks as accents. They look quite dramatic that way.

As to Lilacs, I have both hybrid Lilacs and common Lilacs. The Common Lilacs don't start blooming until after the hybrids are done, (but don't have their scent) so they really lengthen the blooming season. My hybrids finished blooming weeks ago, and the common Lilacs are in full bloom now.
