Had the Night From H*ll.... massive thunderboomers all night. The dogs piled on top of me on the bed for comfort... their comfort, not mine. I think there were 6 or 7 dogs on the full sized bed. I didn't get to sleep until the storm ended at 7 am.

Heidi, what a terrible night you had. How did the new dogs do with thunder? Hope they tolerated it well, you have enough scardy cats already.

we could have entertained each other last night. I only dozed and laid awake in bed till 5 am, daylight. then slept till 10,

Did my first set this morning, OOOPs forgot the massage, best go do that.

Hugs June, hope you got some sleep at last. Thinking of you and your friend.

I'm off to run errands now.... including ordering flowers for Jackie's funeral on Friday. Her husband decided to have it near his family, not near hers, so it's too far to travel for IH and any of his immediate family. The closest the funeral is for ANY of Jackie's family members is a 5 hour drive.

Hi all, feeling not so great today. I've been dizzy or lightheaded all day (not sure what the difference is). I had a nap earlier, but when I got up it was worse. I have to pick up the grandies from the bus stop at 3:30 .... please let them be in good moods! Have read everything but retained very little. Take care all and hope to pop in later.

Heidi, sad to hear none of Gil's family will get to attend Jackie funeral. Five hours is a long drive, would need an overnight stay. No way to fly to that location, although now, flying is so uncertain, delays, sitting on runways, etc.

Theresa, hope you feel better soon and the grandies are wonderful little cherubs today.

did exercises, massage, emptied dishwasher, flung some food, beef tips for tonight. 3 1/2 hours out of splint, used hand for a couple new things. think I need a nap now. Later friends.

Theresa, I hope you find something to entertain the Grandies and keep them quiet.
Thanks for the thoughts Tricia, treatment starts next Tuesday.

All!

Hi, Suzy, Theresa, June, Heidi, MizTricia and anyone else who visits here today!

Suzy, thanks, but no need for a fairy godmother. Hubby woke me this morning to tell me he would be in the garage. (I guess that's better than waking up and wondering where he is.) How AWFUL for you to have to witness a shooting at any time, but especially when you had an infant at home and you were surrounded by hysteria! I can't imagine what it must have been like! It's no wonder the shooting of the Chubb employee yesterday affected you so much! (BTW, I did find something about yesterday online after I signed off here last night.)

Good afternoon (now), Theresa!

June, I hope you were able to sleep once you went to bed. It can be tiring to have a grandie with lots of energy for the day! Then, once you sit down in front of the TV, the eyes close and you're in dreamland. It seems amazing that Laura will be old enough for school next year!

Heidi, that WAS an awful night! I hope you can get a nap today! I'm assuming you weren't expecting the storm and hadn't given any of the dogs a tranquilizer.

MizT, so sorry that you also had a rought night!

Hi, June! I see you had a good night sleep, though it's early where you are, and you're already up. Have a great day, and sending positive vibes and prayers for your friend, especially on Tuesday and beyond!

Heidi, I hope all of your errands went smoothly! I can't believe Jackie's husband didn't consider her family in making plans for her funeral. I can only hope that his family will be support for him and the children, though I'm wondering how much he contributed to her depression. (Do you think her family blames him somehow, so doesn't want to face them?)

Theresa, I hope you are feeling better as the day progresses. Keeping fingers crossed that the grandies are quiet and cooperative this afternoon!

Tricia, you sound VERY busy, and the day is only half over. I hope you get a good nap!

I should go do some ffuts! I hope to see you all later!

I had a talk with Jackie's father this morning. I learned some horrendous things. Her husband was both emotionally and physically abusive to Jackie. Dave had been trying to get Jackie to leave, but she wouldn't. The day of the suicide, they'd had a bad fight. David told me that Mike (the husband) is lying about the events that happened afterwards, and is being very belligerent about the whole thing. David point blank told me that he feels that Mike murdered Jackie, by driving her to the point of snapping. The funeral will be far more stressful than a funeral normally is.

Morning all!
Heidi, I am sorry about your horrible night and every sorrier (is that a word) about Jackie's husband. I believe that people who go through that and don't leave have such low self esteem that deep down inside they think they must have brought it on themselves because their partner is such a 'great person' in so many other ways. The song I mentioned in here a while ago - According to You... when I hear it I know that people in abusive relationships or just with incredibly low self esteem or depression can't believe the nice things that people say.

Julie, don't wear yourself out with ffuts! How are your exercises going now?

Theresa, your grandies had better have arrived in a good mood or I'll be after them!

MizT, is the pain a lot better now the pins are removed?

June, I'm glad you finally got some sleep.

Good Morning all!
Suzy, we did get busy at work yesterday. We are currently organising for Back to School which starts in October. We needed to produce catalogues, price lists, print pictures, make an excel spreadsheet etc. It all takes time but it is the time of year when we make the majority of our sales so it takes priority over everything else. Anyway the catalogues are now printed and bound and just ready to be posted. Whoo.
If these boys of mine don't start eating the food I cook I think I'll just stop cooking. I made cajun crumbed chicken last night only to have James not eat at all (still full from afternoon tea so he has taken his to work today) and Shaun only ate half (his is in the fridge waiting for him to eat later or give to the dog!)
It's not wasted but it's annoying that they won't eat it at dinner.
Shaun is working at "Out of the Box" festival for under 8's at Southbank this week. As part of their assesment (for art) they have to volunteer and work 3 and a half days. Unfortunately I have had to drive him there two mornings. I'm so glad I don't have to drive into the city anymore.

Good mid-morning from a very chilly Cockatoo. Hannah has a pupil-free day today and Beth works tonight for late-night trading, so doesn't start till two, so it would have been an opportunity to sleep in, if it weren't for the fact that hubby and I were expecting workmen to arrive at 7.30am! They were here very promptly, and are doing the work very expeditiously, so all is good.

Bill (father) rang last night, which is unusual, so I knew something was NQR. He told me that his SIL had had a stroke the night before and was not doing well. Hoping for the best Aunty June, may you come through this or pass peacefully.
He also said my BIL, hubby of my oldest sister had just been retrenched. They are not overly well off so he will need to look for another job even though he will be 65 next birthday. Best of luck John.
His last piece of news was to say my brother, next up from me on the totem pole, is finally doing something about quitting smoking. I am so very pleased, as this was one of Mum's final wishes was that we do our best to get him to stop. He nursed his father when he was dying from emphysema, so I cannot understand how that did not make him stop on the spot. All my hopes pinned on you for success Matt ♥

To quote Alice Cooper: "School's out for summer." I do have to go in tomorrow for all the last minute paper krow and finish packing my room into my storage closet, then it is a beach party.
Tricia, hope your hand feels better soon. I am sure all the hard work will be worth it.
Heidi, sorry to hear that her husband drove Jackie to take her lie. I wish they could press charges against him. Also hope you get a good night sleep tonight.
Theresa, I hope you feel better soon.
I don't remember what I else I read. I am trying to get plenty of sleep so mom will stop driving me nuts. I will be back tomorrow.

Good evening all.

I just woke up from a nap and feel a little better (I think). The grandies were terrific today, played quietly or watched a bit of TV. When my SIL came home, I went straight to bed because I was feeling worse, very dizzy and feeling like I was going to vomit. I literally passed out with my clothes on, including sweat shirt. I woke up about 15 minutes ago to the smell of skunk. But I am hungry ... haven't eaten since breakfast. I think I'll just go and fix myself some rice, watch a bit of TV maybe and then go back to bed.

Heidi, how awful Jackie must have felt! Life can be so sad at times.

Suzy, it took a few days after removal, but yes, now pain is a lot better, thank you.

Fertilizer was just what the newest wave petunias needed, my plant formerly with 5 blooms now has 15! Ones on the back are blooming more also, but not as much as that one is.

Got exercises done 3 times today, except for a couple that I just cannot do 10 reps without lots of pain. Cut those back to 5 times each and will talk to Ashley about it Friday. Longer without the splint, today, so it is coming, oh so slowly.

Tami, congrats, school's out for the year! When does camp start??

Theresa, get well soon, hope tomorrow is a lot better for you.

Hugs to all, catch you tomorrow.

to Simon-Pieter. two is such a cute age. Will you get to visit him on his birthday??

Gail, good luck to your BILs, hope for a new job and to cease smoking. Prayers for your Aunt June

Checking in again this evening! Hello to all who post or visit!

Hi, Heidi, Suzy, Vicki, Gail, Tami, Theresa, and Rolanda!

Heidi, what an awful turn of events in Jackie's story! I feel so bad for her (and her children)! She is in a better place now, but what a hard way to accomplish that! If only she had listened to her father! No wonder her husband wanted the funeral near his family, rather than hers! I guess it explains a lot. May Jackie TRULY RIP! Sending prayers, hugs and positive vibes for Jackie's children and family!

Vicki, I don't blame you if you quit gnikooc! Why put in the time and effort of it's not appreciated? You have been extremely busy at work, it seems! I hope all the effort there pays off with good back-to-school sales! Actually, it sounds like your whole family has been busy! BTW, if they don't appreciate you, WE DO!

Gail, what a shame workmen were expected early on a day when you might otherwise have slept in! Luckily, they arrived as expected. 'Twould be even worse if they arrived hours late! You certainly learned a great deal from Bill's call last night! Prayers for whatever is best for Aunty June! Sending positive vibes for her and for John in finding new employment! Positive vibes for Matt in his effort to quit smoking. I know he can do it because I saw my Dad do it! Good luck, Matt!

Hip hip hooray! School is out for Tami! Don't krow too hard tomorrow finishing with papers and storing away for next fall! Hope you get a good night's sleep and feel better soon!

Theresa, I hope you are feeling better! If this dizziness and nausea continues tomorrow, you might want to speak to your doctor. Did a headache accompany the way you felt today? Do you get migraines? I'm so glad your grandies rose to the occasion today and were well behaved and cooperative! Hooray, grandies! Tomorrow is a new day, and I hope you'll feel much better!

Hi, Rolanda ! A great big Happy 2nd Birthday to your Gr. Nephew, Simon-Pieter! I hope he has a yummy and lots of presents!

Heidi, I hope the rest of the day went better and progress was made on the sunroom!

MizT, great news that the hand & wrist are less painful! I'm so glad the cast is off and the pins are out! Whoa! TEN reps? How many times do you do the exercise per repetition? I usually heard the therapists telling people to do the movement ten times per repetition. Most of my exercises were THREE reps of ten! That's doing the exercise 30 times, not 100! And you went through the exercises 3 times today!? I hope your therapy session with Ashley on Friday is fruitful and educational! Since you are working so hard at home, it will probably be less painful!

MizT, did you tell us what color your wave petunias are? I'd like to picture them with the right shade of blossoms! What kind of fertilizer do you use?

Good afternoon all - I haven't been around much, had a few busy days.
Well - I might have my car back in 2 weeks. Finally got the quote on Monday, and the go-ahead from the Insurance Co. this morning. The panel beaters start tomorrow. Will take 7-10 working days, and since Monday is a public holiday here, that means the end of the following week. I am going out of my mind!!
Update on Vi - she is home again since the weekend, but starts avery mild form of Chemo today. On the weekend her son and 4 of his closest mates (one a renovator) are going to completely renovate her bathroom to ensure she will be safe. At present her shower is over the bath and we all were worried about her slipping or tripping getting in/out.

I have just heard from Bill, and the news about Aunty June is not good. She has been unconscious for the last two days, and the family are having the 'meeting' with the doctors tomorrow.
This is all so unfair. A lady who was racked with pain and depression for many years due to very bad hips, and just had a hip replacement last December which turned her life around. She seemed so happy and full of life when I last saw her when I went back home in January.
