Hello lovely people!
Suzanne - Happy Anniversary! How romantic to have a Christmas wedding
Happy Birthday to Susan's #1 son - so far away!
Wonderful to have you pop in Susan! Missing you.
Glad to hear Ebob survived, Suzy - what a nightmare! I'm with Heidi - won't catch me out after Thanksgiving or Christmas. BTW - hope you don't get hubby's flu, Heidi.

Just lovely reading everyone's holiday posts and reflections.
Had a beautiful day with my step daughters and hubby. Did someone say "lose some pounds"? I've needed to do that ever since I returned from Oz...just kept packing them on through the holidays. Why do family and friends give me tons of chocolate? Ahhhhhhhh!
Rolanda - have a lovely trip - see you next year!
Off for some more coffee...hmmm, and maybe a biscotti to go with it. How ever am I going to break the bloody sugar cycle!

I wonder the same thing, Vici.... Why do so many people give me
chocolate
and/or
cookies? I NEED to lose nearly 100 lbs! (All was gained by illness!)
I DID get one great present from Gil. For the first time EVER, he didn't get cheap. He got me a large gift certificate to Lowe's, a home, garden and hardware store. I can get some needed power tools!!!

Speaking of him, I haven't seen him this morning. I believe he's off taking care of an orphan lamb. So I don't know how he's feeling.

Gooday all.
Heidi...hope Gil is much better, what a day to get sick.
Suzy...so Ebob survived a horribly busy day.Good job catching the shoplifters.
Rolanda...have a great time away in the caravan. You have probably already gone by now.
I was going to make a trifle to take for christmas lunch but Carley asked for a salad instead. She had made a pav which we ended up bringing home as leftovers and Greg ate that last night. We still have a stack of other food to get through yet.
Like most others,my New Year res.would be to lose weight too,and to pass the exams. Both mean a lot of work.

Suzy.... You and Ebob make a great team!
Lousy shoplifters make things hard on honest people. The stores need to recoup their losses by raising prices.
Gil is feeling a little better today, but he's still afraid to eat anything. He's gonna try some soup in an hour or so.

Heidi, I am glad you only bought three hats. I was expecting to hear that you bought more than that. Glad that Gil is feeling a little better. Actually went to the mall today with the boys. Got several dress shirts for them. They are almost done for Mitchell's big day. Just need belts, socks, shoes and dress pants for Friday night.

Heidi, I'm glad that you got a great pressie since you didn't get chrissie lunch...
Tami, it sounds never ending! JUST belts, socks, shoes and pants???
Nola, I was wondering what kind of person would choose salad over trifle, then saw there was pavlova... it all makes sense now.
Cyn and everyone who checked out fb, thanks for your loverly comments about Ally's singing. Every time I look at the videos the picture that comes to mind is the little girl sobbing in my arms because of the cows at school. I smile so wide when I see her perform because I know those cows are udderly powerless now. BTW, you guys found the videos before I even knew the second one was finished. I left it loading and went to bed..

Just trying to get Ebob going and ready for work. She has a long day today. Her shift grew by 3 hours since it was first scheduled. I've told her not to answer her phone on her days off!
Feeling all gooey - my BIL just sent me a message that watching Ally's videos on Xmas made Xmas special this year...

Good morning lovely people!
Heidi - pleased Gil's feeling a little better. Enjoy your power tools!?!
Suzy - that video of Ally would have made the family happy. It's nice to see a talented youngun. Poor Ebob - all that work. I was going to say that at least she'll be making money but at her age is probably paid peanuts.
Rolanda - probably missed you too but I hope and am sure your holiday in beautiful Albany will be great. Give Anne a hug for me.
Tami - glad your shopping is going well.
Leftover pavs, trifles, Xmas puds plus chocolates received are not good for the waistline - hey, I'll worry about that tomorrow!

Got Mitchell a pair of pants. Dylan has shoes. Now trying to find Mitchell dress shoes is going to be a problem. He is a 13 year old with the foot of an adult male. He wears a 12 wide. Every pair of dress shoes he tries on he says "hurts" I hope 4 weeks is enough time for him to try on every pair of shoes in the city. Someone once said shopping for boys is easy. I don't think so!!!!!

Tami, good luck taking your father shopping. I used to have to take my FIL and it was agony!
Cyn, she's going to get her first taxes shock I think. She will be paid time and a half for 8 hours today, and double time and a half for 6 hours tomorrow. Mr tax mine will love that!

Warning: Family anecdote, thanks the Tami reminding me of something.
When Ebob was about 2 we took my FIL clothes shopping at JC Penney. The sales people were soooo helpful, when he asked for help with his pants, they sent me into the change rooms to help him. Ebob was sitting in her stroller right outside the door. I ran in, was gone 20 seconds, and ran out again - she was gone. My FIL was calling from the change rooms but who cared! I ran around calling her, looking everywhere!! Panic!! A much calmer and more experienced mother walked up to me and asked me what she was wearing. She walked around looking down the centre of the clothes racks and then called out 'here she is'. Ebob came out giggling...

Ebob - naughty girl worrying your Mum like that!
Just back from visiting Mum, going to the movies (Old Dogs - don't bother, very disappointing) and eating out - just fish and chips but always tastes nicer in the cool breeze on the foreshore looking out at the bay - which was quite choppy, hope Broni's in protected waters!

Ken decided he wanted to go to the SHOPS so we went to a big rambling centre, walked around for three hours and bought, just some fish and chips take away for lunch.!! I did not even get any more Christmas cards! Ken did get to price a lot of cameras and slot them into his graph. I told him I would get him a new camera for his birthday but we need to wait for another couple of weeks to get the duty back when we go overseas in Feb.
I have no interest in buying anything in a bunrush. I would sooner pay a bit extra and buy at my leisure.
I hope everyone else has had a most enjoyable day. Love this cool weather.

Hi everyone!
Took all the kids to visit my Mum and Dad today -5 hours driving, and now I'm SO tired! Mum's memory seems to be down to about a 3 minute cycle, and Dad is so thin he needs braces to keep his pants up ... The kids were great, chatting and entertaining and serving food and doing dishes (which seemed to go on forever!)
SO tired now - heading off to bed ... Goodnight all! :)

Judy - how sweet of you to take the gang to your folks. I'm sure it was very special for them.
June - brave of you and Ken to go out in that madness - but I guess it's not so bad if you are not hunting with the rest.
Heidi - Congrats on the gift card...I LOVE Lowes!
Happy shopping!
We hung out, watched movies and I showed my pictures and videos from the trip to Oz. Plugged my computer into the big-screen TV so it was cool seeing everything larger (except me! ha-ha!)
Ate way too much again.
Girls go back home today and I am taking my girl from the Friendship Club to brunch and a movie.
Sending hugs everyone's way!

I'm trying to make a decision here.
Feed hay to the cows now, or take a nap now, and feed after the nap. Hi everyone.
Tami..good luck taking Dad to buy a suit.My Dad was a real country ocker and I had to beg him to get a suit for my wedding. He eventually found one in a Goodwill Store and was proud of the few dollars he paid for it.
Heidi..still hoping Gil is feeling better soon, and the lack of cooking helps your waistline.
Enjoy your day out Vici.
Suzy...it makes your heart skip a beat when kids disappear like that at the shops.
Judy...the kids entertaining, washing up etc must have made the day for you.Seeing your parents not the best would have been the down side.

If a nap calls it was best that you had it before feeding the cows Heidi.
Judy, how hard seeing your parents aging. But important for all to see them and for them so see the younger generation.
Some lovely heavy rain this morning. It will be enough to cancel the mixed bowls today (I did not really want to play) and I might just go and find some shopping in my local shopping centre!
I see you are getting a lot of rain too Suzie (I looked on the radar)

OK....
The cows and calves have been fed 4 hay rolls
and 2 feed supplement tubs (200 lbs each) They're quite happy. They weren't completely out yet, so there was no MAJOR rush to get out there before the nap.
Little Surprise came up running with her mother. She's looking good.

Good morning folks!
Had a good long sleep and now feel almost human again!
Heidi, hope Gil feels better very soon - sounds like a really nasty bug he has. What a shame to be sick over Christmas! Take care of yourself - you seem to work SO hard. I loved the story of the surprise calf!
CynB, just looked up reviews for "Old Dogs" - "Old Dogs is simply mind numbingly awful", etc. Sounds like one to avoid, though it does have an all-star cast!
Adam took his piano-accordian with him to the grandparents' - he's not great at it, but he uses it in some of his acts. At one stage he took it outside to practise a bit and went down the back, away from the house ... after a few minutes the cows in the next paddock all started moving up to the fence, looked as though they were all gathering for a concert! They stayed for a long time (Rob came out and took photos) - then they seemed to suddenly get sick of it and all took off at the same time! :D

Judy... cows are very curious, but also quite silly at times.
When I was feeding the cows earlier, one of my purebred heifers kept following me around, bellowing as loud as she could. I knew what she wanted. I gave her a scoop of grain and she quieted down instantly.
