I wish my hubby would get the cleaning bug! I want to get the new TV installed but he needs to clear away lots of stuff where it is to go.
Theresa, hope you can feel better soon. I hope SonIL is home at the moment and able to help with his family.
I want to get some clearing done in the garden this morning (green waste bin today) so I had better go and get organised.

I hope you are my friend too, June.

SonIL is home today, but back to work tomorrow. The youngest grandie is currently here sitting in front of the fireplace with grandpa. She's faschinated by fire; not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.

The oldest grandie is sick, she has vomited more than two dozen times today. The doctor was called and apparently there is a flu bug going around like that. Poor little tyke only has the odd spoonful of water and even that won't stay down. I have a feeling a trip to the hospital might be in her future. The good thing is she doesn't have a fever, which apparently is another symptom of this flu bug.

Off to fling food. TTFN.

Gail, I've got a room like that - I'm sitting in it right now.

Feel better all the sickies!!

Cyn, I'll have the link too.

Tami, don't lend your sewing machine to me, that would be the end of it.

Heidi, you definitely need your head examined - especially for waiting so long when it was so bad!

June, it was hot very hot on Saturday here, yesterday was not so hot but very humid, today it is cool which is just as well because 99% humidity would be miserable if it were warmer.. Even the ambulance people who came to get mum asked about our property. People always wonder if it stops at the back fence and are surprised when we say no, there's the paddock and about 300m of trees. It's just such an awful shape!

Broni, have you regained your sanity yet, I hope not! Crazy is much better!!

Suzy, I agree that crazy is better! People keep expecting me to act my age instead of my shoe size, but that's no fun.

The youngest grandie is still here, watching cartoons with grandpa in front of the fireplace. Well, time to get some yrdnual done. TTFN.

Thank you for your friendship too, Gail. I like the idea of positive thinking ... 2011 will be the best year yet!!!

Heidi, my sonIL bought popsicles for the oldest grandie because she's not feeling well (popsicles are good for bringing down fevers), so of course the youngest grandie wants one too!! They also keep it very warm at their place. When they come here I have to turn up the heat for a little while. I tend to keep our thermostat down and wear a sweatshirt or sweater instead.

We have a fun mixed bowls game this afternoon so I will go and play.

That of course reminds me of the Peter Sellers movie The Party. I could watch that 100 times and still almost fall off the couch laughing.

Good evening or should I say morning as it it 12.25am here.
Cyn my daughter did one of those photo books for me last Christmas, it was of Callie. It was a lovely suprise.
Heidi get that head looked at!!
Gail send Scott over here to sort my spare room out please. We have every intention of clearing it but it never happens.
Tami, watch out once you get 'Harley' he will probably be on his best behaviour for a couple of weeks, then may slip into bad habits. This happened when we got Indi, she was so good when we first got her, never had accidents in the house then once she was settled and happy she was going to stay little accidents started to happen. Trouble is it is always on the green carpet on the hall, stairs and landing. I wonder if she thinks it is grass (I know dogs don't see in colour but it seems strange that this is the only carpet she pees on)

I think the Peter Sellers in real life was a whole lot different from the great comedian/actor we knew in those films. I, too, still roll over laughing at 'The Party'. And then of course there was the Goons.

I am a major fan of the Goons, CynB. Peter Sellers was a genius, but he was so wrapped up in every character he portrayed that he didn't know who he was. I don't think he was a very happy man off stage.

, Friendly Folks! I'm here a lot earlier than usual, yet for some reason, I'm feeling very exhausted.

HI, V Viv, Theresa, CynB, Gail, Broni, MizTricia, Heidi, Tami the T, June, Suzy and Brenda - and anyone I have missed!

Viv, great idea to go to the beach! Unfortunately, everyone else seemed to have the same great idea! I hope you could find a space for yourself and enough quiet to enjoy it!

Theresa, I hope you will soon be fully recovered and able to enjoy the chocolates and chocolate cake! You have been dealing with this for quite a while! Winter seems to be such a tough time of year to shake off a germ, virus, or even just the "blahs"! Sending {{{HUGS}}} and positive thoughts!

Theresa and CynB, I wish I had a way to speed up your internet connections!

Cyn, I'd enjoy the link to the book, please, when the time comes! Though it was a lot of work, I think it's a wonderful idea and I hope he just loves it!

Gail, I hope all has gone well with the archeological dig in the "Room of Denial!" Did you or hubby find any treasures? "They" say that the beginning of a year is a good time to de-clutter and rearrange.

MizT, what a rough night of sleep for you last night! Certainly hope tonight will be better! At least your dreams were entertaining! I'm glad you are finally feeling better!

Heidi, I think most of us would be relieved if you were to get to a doctor - at least for a consultation about the blow to your head and what you possibly should be aware of/be on the lookout for! Of course, we want your cold to get better, also!

June, I hope you and your family and friend are all doing well! You are so amazingly busy helping with Laura and the "farm!" Be sure you remember to take care of yourself some of the time! I hope all went well with the garden-clearing! Hopefully some organizing/straightening was accomplished where the new TV will eventually go!

Theresa, I hope your older grandie is feeling better and was eventually able to keep something in her stomach! (I was also thinking that sucking on a popsicle might be helpful for the grandie with a fever. Our grandies like their popsicles and fudgesicles all year round, too, even if they're not sick.)

Gail, I like your "Year of Positive Thinking!" May everyone experience recovery and renewal in their lives this year!

June, I hope you have fun at your mixed bowls this afternoon!

Brenda, so sorry to hear about the demise of your gnihsaw enihcam! How awful that you must wait until the 4th. I hope you were not behind on the gnihsaw, or you may find you and your family running out of certain necessary garments!

The mention of Peter Sellers and his movies brings a smile. We also really enjoy the Pink Panther series! I'm not sure that I ever saw "The Party" or the Goons. Was that another movie, Cyn, or a television series?

Cyn, if it must be hot, then the humidity should be lower. There ought to

Looks like I'm back to my too-long posts. Here's the rest:

Cyn, if it must be hot, then the humidity should be lower. There ought to be a law. It's just plain too uncomfortable, otherwise!

Heidi, I had heard something similar about Peter Sellers - that his personal life was not very happy.

Hubby has already started collecting information for income tax season and wants some help, so I'm off for a while! {{{{HUGS}}}} to all!

The Pink Panther movies weren't Peter Sellers' best, tho' nobody could have portrayed Clouseau as brilliantly as he did. If you want Sellers at his best, listen to The Goon Show episodes. Fast and furious comedy, with so many character changes and voices.

Oh friends, please don't get me wrong, whilst the room of denial might be tidy at the mo, and it's shelves bereft of mess, I have said nothing of the dining room next to it which is now swamped in boxes and bags of treasures yet to be unearthed! I must put my hand up and be honest...My name is Gail and I am a hoarder! Can't throw it away, you never know when you might need a broken half toy or a random screw... You can bet your bottom dollar you will need it a week after you have thrown it out!
My worst hoarding failing is anything ever produced by any of my children. There is so much paperwork to go through, and I am going to have to be harsh, if it aint art, it's rubbish!
I have already lived to regret the throwing out of past art. In one of our many moves, my son's early art work was accidentally tossed and I am so sorry about it. He had amazing perception when he was very young, at the age of 5 he could draw a formula 1 car from any direction! All gone now :(

SUZY, I love the names your children picked for pets.

Tami, Harley sounds like a good name for a pup. I can hear that being shouted out the back door to get the dog in.

Heidi, glad you will check with your doc. Hope you get better soon.

June, have a good garden cleaning day, your garden photo is so lovely, I could come and sit and enjoy for hours.

Theresa, I have always been fascinated by fire, and I turned out OK. I have the highest respect for it along with my fascination. I had a burning barrell here, it was old and kind of rusty. I was burning trash and there was this BOOM, the barrel jumped up off the ground, and came down in 2 pieces, Something in there that should not have been, I was just burning papers. I think hubby put an empty Canadian bottle in there, and it exploded. He has not got me another barrel in place since that, and that was a couple years ago. Like it was all my fault or something

SUZY, what do you do to sewing machines??

JUNE, may I share in the plum jam? I did not get to make any this year. Two reasons, we had a late frost and neighbors trees had almost no fruit, and with this stupid thumb, I cannot cut plums. IF it had been a bumper crop and I were offered any, I could have just boiled them hole and strained the juice, made plum jelly instead ( Aussies, NOT the gelatin dish. Here jelly is made from just juice and sugar, Jam is made from fruit pieces, juice and sugar)

OH, I did make apple butter, in the crock pot. Through the cancer center, we get extra food, and I had received 8 cans of unsweetened applesauce. Unsweetened applesauce can make some good apple butter with no chopping of fruit. I have another 6 cans, will purchase some more and make another batch.

Hubby was bitten by the baking bug Instead of cleaning bug. He was supposed to help clean today. Did a little, then disappeared. Came in for dinner, with a promise of getting it done tonight. Instead, he baked a cake. Carrot cake and I made up the cream cheese icing, but I "overmelted" the cheese and butter, the icing kept sliding off the too-warm-to-ice cake. Both are in the fridge, minus one slice, and I will try icing it tomorrow. It really was funny, he would go around the cake, picking up icing from the cake plate with his spatula, and spreading it on the cake. It was back off the cake and in the cake plate by the time he went around, NO end to that job hehehe. Cake was good, though, I did have taste.

I am off to bed, must be up and out tomorrow, thankfully not tooo early. Treatment should start tomorrow. Hugs to all, with extras.

Gail, that sounds like my craft room. But you have no idea how often the cardboard from boxes has come in handy for the kids' school projects etc!

June, my garden is so bad at the moment it is embarrassing. I don't think I've done anything in it in a year... Past time I think! I love the name birdy num num.

MizT, if I go near a sewing machine you can bet that within a week it will stop working... I've got one friend going to court over one that broke while I had it. It's a Bernina and they dropped it at the repair shop and in the 2 years since have offered her a third of its value in cash or an inferior replacement machine. She still hasn't seen her machine - though she asked many times for them to just give her back the broken one.

Back again for a few minutes.

Hi, Suzy, Heidi, Gail and MizT!

Sounds like I'm going to need to find more information on the Goon Show. Not tonight, though.

Gail, were you perhaps once a teacher? That's what I blame for my hoarding. There is always a possible use for everything when you teach. My hand is right up there with yours. I, too, am a hoarder. (Makes life more difficult for my hubby.)

Heidi, I hope you feel better tomorrow. Please let us know your doctor's verdict.

MizT, I'm sorry Al didn't help with cleaning, but at least he was productive. With all of his baking, does that mean that he is eating better and enjoying it? Hope all goes well tomorrow! Keeping everything crossed and thinking positively!

Suzy, photos are a great way to keep cherished drawings. Unfortunately, the photos we took take up space. Digital is a great invention - just came too late to be of much help to us.

Gail, hang on to your memories - and give yourself permission to purge and forgiveness for too much purging.

I'm off to bed now. Sending lots of positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for everyone!
