Hi eaa, good to see you stopping here. Happy new year to you and your family. I didn't lose the 10 pounds and if I did, I would not want them back.
Heidi, glad you made it home safely. I was worried about you driving with a cold and with the head boo boo.

I actually took out my sewing machine today for the first time in 20 years and it still works. The machine is about 41 years old. I am making a cover for the kennel for the new doggie. I forgot how much I liked to sew.

Hello all - just had to read about 3 pages quickly ao I hope I haven't missed anything important.
Heidi's got her birds, Theresa and Nola aren't well, MizT is on tornado watch - hope it's passed by, eaa called in and may be travelling - but where?, Vicki's back from the rain-soaked beach, Suzy's been keeping up the confetti tradition, Broni's crazy (never!), Gail said something about coffee, Julie and Mamacita called in - and I'm sure I've missed someone - was it Judy or Viv or Rolanda or someone who'll never forgive me?
Love you all anyway!

A word to the wise from me - the voice of experience - do NOT, I repeat NOT, decide to give anyone a photo book for a gift. I have spent the best part of my days since Christmas sorting photos, getting them in order and putting the book together online (via Harvey Norman's Photo Shop - for the Aussies). It was so time-consuming and pain-staking to get it right - I arranged it myself rather than let their computer do it. I am happy with it but it will take about 10 days to get the hard copy.
That boy better love it and appreciate what his Mum went through!

Everyone! I hope you are all well - or getting better each day (Theresa, MizT, Heidi and any others)! Hopefully all is well in this new year - and will continue to be the best possible throughout the year! I'm frustrated because I lost a long post - and tired, so I'm not sure how far I will get in trying to reproduce it.
Hi, Suzy, Heidi, Theresa, MizTricia, Broni, Brenda, June, Gail, Tami the T, Vicki, and eaa (page 488)!
Suzy, I'm so glad your Mum arrived home safely! I hope she shared the driving! I think I remember you saying that the trip takes 11 hours, which is about 3 hours than we would attempt in a day. (After about 8 hours, the aches and pains and blurry & burning eyes help us determine it's time to stop for the day.)
Thanks for letting us know that Susan and family have escaped the flooding this time! What great news for them. I hope Nola and family have fared as well!
I used to donate blood regularly, but had an enforced year off since my knee replacements. I'll try to get back into a routine. I don't enjoy it all that much, but since my blood is in such demand, I kind of feel an obligation. Sometimes my iron levels are too low, so I've been eating an iron-enriched cereal, snacking on raisins, trying to eat meat every 7-10 days, etc. I even ate sardines and beans the day before the donation. (Each provided at least 10% of my daily iron need.)
Tami, your New Year's Eve celebration sounds like fun!
MizT, Heidi, Theresa, Broni and Vicki, I hope your weather has improved and the rain moved out of the area!
Heidi, I'm so glad the new lovebirds all appear to be healthy, happy and making a good adjustment to their new surroundings! Not fun that your entire drive was in pouring rain! You must be exhausted! Too bad it was a holiday and stores were closed, so you couldn't even buy yourself some blintzes!
Suzy, how funny that Ally thought she had stayed up until midnight "many times" because you had been able to convince her that seeing the ball drop or watching the fireworks qualified as staying up until midnight!
eaa, where will your travels take you this year?
I'm going to post before I lose another comment.

Great TOPP, eaa! I think you even achieved a double CP! Terrific way to start the New Year!
Tami, did you finish sewing the kennel cover for the new dog? Will he be "crate-trained" or just learn to have his own space/bed? Is he already potty-trained?
I see CynB has joined us on this page! Cyn, you certainly have produced a labor of love for your son! I'm SURE he will absolutely love his photo book, as will his children! While it is an especially time-consuming endeavor, it sounds like a wonderful gift!
Broni, you may be crazy, but we all love you! I'm sure your friend Theresa's daughter will also love her creation!
And now, I am off to bed! {{{{{HUGS}}}}},
prayers and positive thoughts aplenty for all of you and your family and friends who can use them!

Very warm here today.
Awful inside the house.
We went to Flynn's Beach today here in Port and I think all the tourists in town did too.

Morning all - I can't sleep.
I'm just about to get my second cup of coffee. The computer is soooo slow today - it seems to take forever to open anything up. I seem to be having a case of post-holiday blahs, probably because I've not been feeling well.
My MIL sent a box of chocolates and some chocolate cake home with hubby for me because I wasn't feeling well. She is definitely a keeper.

Broni - all I can say is, I hope you're more organised than me!!
I was able to share the album on-line once I had completed it, so I sent it to Karin - she said she wishes she was the eldest. I told her I'd do another for her 40th in 2012 as long as she helps with the selection of pics - but it won't have the element of surprise like Andrew's will.
Once I have given it to him, I will post the link if anyone is interested. (Let me know)

Evening all. Nothing much to report here. Hubby is going through a cleaning out stage, so the room called 'The Junk Room' is getting a thorough rearranging. Who knew we had so much useful shelf space!
This room has many transformations in the 9 years we have lived here. It was called the sewing room on the original plans, but that didn't suit our needs at the time. Then it was my sister's room when she lived with us for a year. From then on, it has been a guestroom, gym and now, of course, the room of denial. It is almost like an archeological dig, each foot is another year!

Bright, sunny cold start to the day today, with a promise of a warmer mid day. Back where temps should be for Dec.
Last night could not sleep. not sure why. I was up every 2 hours for an hour or more. I am thankful for those hours in between, but a nice solid 8 hours would have been more restful.
Broni, I had some of your "vivid images and shapes" on the inside of my eyelids last night when I did sleep. At least it was entertaining.
GAIL, wish my hubby would get bit by the cleaning bug. has been promising me some help with cleaning all week, has not happened. Congrats on having some nice empty shelves.
Cyn and Theresa, hope your computers wake up and get going right, sooner rather than later. I am with you tow, hate a slow computer.
Viv, did you enjoy the beach once you got there? Was it cooler there?
Tami, how clever of you to make a cover for the dogs crate. Did you have fabric on hand? Or go buy some just for this? Amazed your machine was still running. did you oil it? If not, might be a good idea to do so fore putting it away again. What brand is it? the old machines were so much better made, heavy, metal parts and gears. Today, plastic.
eaa, I am another curious friend, where will your travels take you? Good to see you start the new year here with us. Have been missing you.
Time for my second cup, or time to go back to bed. Hubby opted for back to bed, perhaps I should also?
Somehow during my shower last night, I got water in my ear (not that unusual) that would not come back out (that part is unusual). I really had a problem hearing. Hubby found the alcohol and poured a cap full into my ear, once that came out brought the water with it. I am thankful that was not long lived.
Hugs to all, I hope I am now germ free, no fever, just a stuffy nose still. See you later.

I have your stuffy nose, MizT. And sinus congestion. The front of my head feels awful. The back of my head is still swollen and very painful. This is definitely not a simple bang on the head. If it doesn't get better in a couple more days, I'll go see my doctor, tho' I don't know what she could do for it. She can't put my head in a cast.

Still feel yucky. Hubby has gone to get a few groceries for me (He offered). I'm sipping on ginger ale and listening to oldies on the radio. I feel so groggy. If it's not better in a few days I will go to ER.
Back to cooler temps today, but still manageable. Every once in a while this large yellow thing peeks out of the sky. We now have absolutely no snow here. This is not usual for us at this time of year. Do you still have snow on the ground, Heidi?

No. It got up to 68℉ / 20℃ on Friday, and everything melted. The storms yesterday cooled everything off, and it got below freezing last night. We're not expecting more snow until next weekend.

Tricia, the machine is an old Sears Kenmore. My grandmother bought it when I was about 5 so she could make me cute dresses and such. I got the machine from her a few months before she died so she was able to see the first tote bag I made.
Julie, we are going to crate-train. He is partially trained but not sure how well he will be in our house as opposed to the animal shelter he is at now. The cover is for the top of the crate to make it a little more "den-like" I will post pictures when doggie is home. Right now it looks like his name will be Harley, but we are going to give it a few days once he comes home.
Heidi, you should get your head examined :) just to make sure you did not do any major damage. A concussion is not something you should play with.

Good morning all my friends (that is all of you, I hope). Went to daughters 'farm' yesterday but it was very hot. A storm last night so I turned off the pooter. Lots of people here not well. not the best way to start the new year. So please get well soon. Although Tricia does seem to be on the mend. Yes Heidi, you do need your head examined! A bump like that cannot be treated lightly.
