I haven't worn any rings in decades. They're too dangerous when working with larger animals. Teeth and claws can get hung up in them. I've had more than one event where the ER staff says that I would have lost finger(s) if I'd been wearing any rings.

Hi all, I've been a bit lax in posting for a few days, but have been reading and keeping you all in my thoughts.
Broni, I hope Possum doesn't have to wait too long for a rescheduled op. Hope his boat was insured and that the insurance will pay out on it.
Mizt, pleased you can get your rings on even if they are not on the right finger. Why couldn't they have just taped round the rings instead of forcing them off?
I'm missing my engagement ring at the moment. The setting for the stone is tension setting, unfortunately the stone has become very loose. I have had to take it to the jewellers to have it sorted out.
June, look after yourself... hope you are feeling a lot better now.
Theresa, good luck with the job search. Pleased to hear that your daughter has a date for her op.
I can't remember much more, but healing thought and hugs go out to all who want and need them

I lost a cat this morning. Toni foolishly came in the yard while I was asleep. The excited barking of the dogs woke me up. Once I got outside, I ordered the dogs away from her, but it was too late. I really wish I could keep the dogs from going after cats, but all it takes is one dog to start the excitement. And with new dogs regularly being added, I can't keep on top of them.

You are probably right, Brenda. Now that I think on it, I think I do remember Broni being involved. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd go back and read.

Thanks Heidi. I knew I saw it back a way, but no explanation.
I think reason I so sleepy is I went to many nights without adequate sleep. If it does not stop when I rest up, I will check it out. OH, did you know singing out LOUD will keep you awake when driving??
I must also explain, I was driving the rural, empty roads close to home. If I had run off the road, would just be in someone's pasture. It was NOT like being on a real road. Had a plan B too. Although AL and Joy were not home, I could have called Mrs. Neighbor to come drive me home.

BRENDA, the rings had to come off. I had surgery on THAT hand, and it swelled really big. It would have cut circulation to that finger. Swelling still has not gone down, an about 9 months.

I hate to tell you, MizT, but it might take a while longer. I had major surgery on my leg 3 years ago and the swelling still hasn't gone down.

Hi all.
Just lost a post so here goes again.
MizT..glad you got some good sleep and that Al was back to his usual self.
June..hope you are well now.An unexpected stay in hospital is a bit of a shock.Glad the bbq went well.Continued best wishes to your friend.
Theresa..good luck with the job hunting.
Heidi..thats awful about Toni. The pic of the 4 baby birds was beautiful.
Tami..fingers crossed that you have found rellies.
Suzy asked if I had gotten over the sciatica & scabies.Yes, to both.Took awhile with the scabies as the skin is irritated from the dead mites.
The rain is still pouring down here, and the flooding continues its travel down to Victoria.Very depressing to say the least. The nicest bit of tv last night was watching Oprah down-under.Apparently her show boosted the flood donations so THANK YOU AMERICA.
I am thinking of you all daily.Stay safe and happy everyone.

No, it was Broni!!
Gekko all,
June, I hope the improvement comes quickly and the PET scan results are the best!
Theresa, good for you standing up to the grandies - in life we have to do what we have to do no matter how bad we feel (as you very well know) and it's easier to learn that lesson on the small things like getting dressed when you're supposed to. Do you want me to tell you what I said to Alie yesterday when she was acting up? I can't say it on here...
MizT, from what you've said, you need at least a week of good sleeping to catch up. It's great that you are making a real world friend, especially one you know up front is caring and generous! Thoughts to Babs, I'm glad she had you to talk to about her fears.
Although I'm sorry you have to stretch your funds to find another $20 a month, it does sound very reasonable when you get to use a state of the art machine - or rather Al does.
Mickey from Melbourne should know what causes that by now and buy a television!! Good thoughts winging themselves her way ..

When my daughter was a teenager and acting up, I used to say to her, "I will always love you, but there are times I really don't like you." She now understands what I meant back then.

IH is home. He called over an hour ago to say he was on his way home, and he just had something to eat. He then walked in the door and asked where his supper was. I explained that he'd just told me that he'd eaten. He denied ever telling me that.

Good Evening, fellow Sudokuaholics!
Hi, Victoria, Suzy, Gail, Heidi, Broni, MizTricia, Theresa, June, Tami, Gail, Brenda, Nola and Rolanda!
Victoria, I hope the swampy smell has gone and you are having less rain! What an awful commute home you had! I hope you had some good listening material with you! Are you usually able to miss the peak traffic time?
Suzy, it sounds like a good day at the uniform shop! It's much easier to deal with a rather constant stream than hordes followed by sitting by yourself and twiddling your thumbs! Also good that it give you credit toward your girls' uniform items! Good news that the flooding is farther away from your Mum than you originally thought! Just wondering, why does Alie think her friend would not like the jaguar painting?
MizT, Al's radiation will happen when it's the right time. In the meantime, what WONDERFUL news that he came home as himself today! Hope you can bottle that and bring it out again on a day when he's the CCR monster! I hope you enjoyed the day - and it sounds like he enjoyed being himself as well! Hooray! I'm hoping you both get about a week's worth of ideal sleeping conditions so that you can regain your strength! Sending {{{{HUGS}}}} and positive thoughts!
Oh, dear, Theresa, do you suppose Snowball was the first to hear them arrive to clear snow from the parking lot and was startled? Something must have caused her to jump up on you! I hope you are OK and had a good antibiotic cream to put on the scratch after you got it clean! Luckily, a scratch may not be as bad as a bite! I hope tonight will be a better night for sleeping! Take care of yourself, Sweetie!
June, I'm so glad to hear that your friend had her last chemo and tablet. Not so glad that she overdid helping you with the party (though not surprised)! I hope she gets well rested over the coming weekend - and you, too! Thinking of both of you and sending positive thoughts and {{{{HUGS}}}}!
Tami, we can completely understand how finding possible family members can be occupying your time! This is all totally exciting! I truly hope there is a connection and you all one day can meet! Good luck with all of the translations!
Theresa, I hope the grandies were BOTH in good moods today and made your trips to and from the bus more enjoyable! Yes, sometimes we need to be the mean grandma, but for good reason. Life in the future will be easier for them if they learn when they are young that the world does not revolve around them. They need to know how to treat the people in their lives!
MizT, I'm sure all of your information helped set Babs, the new patient at ease! Sending positive thoughts and prayers for Babs! And so glad you made the effort to meet with your neighbor for coffee! Yes, you need to have a life besides being Al's wife/caregiver! WooHoo, you were able to get your wedding rings on again! You must feel fantastic!
Thinking of Mickey and her 6th child coming into the world! All the best to them both! Hop

And now, the second installlment:
Thinking of Mickey and her 6th child coming into the world! All the best to them both! Hope all goes well! Thanks, Gail, for letting us know! (Is it any wonder that she hasn't visited in a while? I'm one of 6; I can imagine she has her hands and mind full!)
Heidi, thank you for letting MizT know what Gekko was! I must admit it took me a bit to figure it out the other day!
Brenda, how have you and your family been? Are you and hubby now empty nesters, or is there still the youngest at home? I'm sorry I have forgotten. I know you took a D back to university, but can't remember if she's the youngest. Sorry!
Heidi, I'm so sorry you lost Toni the cat today! Unfortunately, you can't be supervising the dogs at all times! It doesn't make it any easier to deal with, though! Her timing just wasn't the best today. RIP, Toni!
Nola, I'm so pleased to hear that the sciatica and scabies have both been resolved. Now if there were some way to slow down the rain! Hoping there will be no further flooding in your area! I'm pleased to hear that Oprah and her followers have acknowledged the terrible flooding and need for support! Thinking positive thoughts for you and the area around you!
Heidi, how frustrating that IH told you he had eaten, then expected to be fed when he walked in the door! Not the best day for him to do that!
Rolanda, you have certainly kept yourself busy since your return home! Seems there's so much work in the lead up to a vacation AND when you get back home! Welcome home! Enjoy the birthday visit with your Aunty!
It seems the time has come for me to check a few emails and get ready for bed. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights I will need to get to bed earlier because of early commitment each of the following days. Friday and Saturday we have an all-day seminar/workshop on ornamental wood turning. Sunday we will visit my home town and have either lunch or an early dinner with an elderly aunt and a variety of relatives who can join us.
I'm thinking of all of you and sending
prayers, positive thoughts and {{{{HUGS}}}}. I would also like to thank you for keeping my friends Nena and Jan in your prayers! Good night to all of you! Enjoy the rest of your day/evening!

Gekko all,
Our cat is not a normal cat! There is something a little different about him. My mother thinks he is part siamese because of his pointy face and that might explain it.
Julie, Brenda's youngest just turned 20, but I'm not sure if she is an empty nester..

Hi all! or should I say Gekko!!
I've got pages to catch up on but I've picked up on the gekko bit already.
Suzy - hop on a plane and come up on Sunday! Hehehe!
Back later to try to catch up - been a busy week - unexpected sleepover by 2 grandies, lunch and dinner out on Monday (hard work but someone's got to do it).
Been very hot and humid up here with thunderstorms the last few days. Have been trying not to complain - those flood affected people need the heat to dry up their houses and yards so I'll just grin and bear it!
My brother finally was able to get out of his area when the bridge re-opened last night. Woo Hoo!
