I got Cyn suggestion.
Some of my friends (ex workmates) are taking me out to lunch tomorrow, overlooking the Harbour. It should be a lovely day.
So pleased Al has his treatments underway again. Here's hoping for 100% success!

Have a great BBQ with Cath. A lovely lady.
Nice to see you home from your holiday Rolanda. Everything cleared and back to normal?
I still have lots of plates and serving dishes to put away after the BBQ. All those that are normally hidden away at the back of the cupboards.

MizT, when I joined the other site I nearly pulled my hair out with all the friend's requests that came pouring in. Now I seldom go there. I leave that to my daughters!!!
Broni, those plates can go back where they came from! (I do need to sort the pantry though)

My Texas cousin scanned and sent photos to the Aussie cousin. She says she has photos taken around the same time and that the faces match. She was also able to translate the backs of several of them. The letter from Sidney was actually from a friend who was letting my great-uncle know how fellow Hungarian townspeople were doing. It seems there was a big Jewish immigration to Australia after WWII as they were trying to get as far away from Europe as possible.

Good thoughts going out to Mickey and her new little boy.

Keeping everyone else in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know when I will be able to afford it, but I am now more motivated to want to come to Australia. If I ever do make it, I will definitely try to meet as many of you as possible.

WooHoo Tami - has it been confirmed??
Suzy and Rolanda - I'm sure I sent you friend suggestions. Maybe they go missing or were in cyberspave when you found Tricia by yourselves.

Yes, the relationship has been confirmed through photos. Both sides have photos, taken around the same time, and the faces match.

I went to find Tricia on the other site and found a friend suggestion. Thank you to whoever did the work for me.

Did I mention I can now trace my tree back to my great-great-great-great grandfather back in the 1700's?? I never thought that would be possible.

Rolanda, sounds like you enjoyed your holidays. Now back to reality .....

Julie, that noise could have been what startled Snowball. BTW, I slept for 9 hours last night, with only a few wakeful moments during the night. I feel so much better today. As MizT knows, a lack of sleep affects us in so many ways. Take care of yourself, especially during the next few busy days. Who said that whenever you get older life slows down and you will have plenty of leisure time? Whoever that was is totally wrong.

Broni, Sunday sounds like it will be an enjoyable time indeed. I think we all wish we could be there.

MizT, thanks to Cyn I got a friend request for you on FB. Please say yes!!!

June, lunch overlooking the Harbour with friends .... that sounds wonderful!

Tami, how exciting about your family ancestry search. Wow, that's about all I can say!

I think I've caught up on the reading. Hugs to all who need and/or want them. I have plenty to go around. I have to go make a bit more coffee since hubby drank most of it.

I didn't get told that you had joined us on the other site MizT but I found you , just hoping you accept my friends request.Pleased to hear that Al's treatment has started. Fingers crossed that it zaps the CCR monster good and proper.
It's lovely to hear good news hear... Welcome to the world Baby Antony!
Julie, I sometimes wish I was an empty nester. As Suzy said my youngest just turned 20 and is at uni, but we still have two older kids still living at home. The cost of housing where we live means neither can afford to move out, even though one is a teacher. Never mind it means we have house/dog sitters when we go away.

Gekko everybody.

It's GREAT waking up to all this great news!
Tami... I can only imagine how thrilled you must be. An entire side to the family that you didn't know existed! Huge amounts of family history! I bet you feel like a kid in a candy store... so much to see and hear.
MizT... It's great that Al has started the radiation now. I think the timing is good... when the tumor is smaller and at it's most vulnerable. I just hope the monster doesn't resurface.
So Mickey had a baby boy! Welcome to the planet Earth, Antony!!!
I hope that there's more good news about friends and family on the good vibes list.

For the past 2 weeks I have been looking all over for my big pizza plate (I got it at Pier 1 Imports years ago) and couldn't find it anywhere. I repeatedly asked IH if he'd seen it, and he denied seeing it in a long time. Just now, asked him again, and he told me that he remembered seeing it broken. So I said... So you broke it? And he denied it. It just broke, he said. Moron. If he wasn't covering up something, he would have told me it was broken 2 weeks ago.

Hi all! Gekko!
Welcome to baby Antony.

Broni, I'll be there. I've sent messages.

Prayers and best wishes for all in need. Thinking of you all.

I'm heading up to visit Mum again today (that gives me the weekend off). She has things that she needs me to help her with. That's 3 weeks in a row so she won't miss me when we go away next weekend.

We are going to Hervey Bay on Friday and returning on Monday. My oldest brother, SIL (they are divorced) and nieces live there. It will be lovely to spend time with them and a great way to celebrate my birthday.

Heidi, that's very childish behaviour. Any adult would have just said that they had broken it not try to cover it up by lying.
