Now on to the last page to read. Gail, hope Scott enjoys the visit with his friend ... how sad for him.

June, thinking of your friend.

Have the sloshy thing going. Feeling kind of down today and I have no idea why. I guess women don't really need a reason, do they?

MizT, I wish I knew what was the oldest grandie's problem! If she's like this now, there will be huge problems when she's a teenager.

Hubby has gone to D's for supper. They are having her yummy spaghetti, but I can't eat it because it is too spicy. I helped her make the sauce earlier today. I just don't feel like being around a lot of people right now. Tomorrow morning we need to get the "huge haul" of groceries. So TTFN.

I don't know if mango juice helps acid reflux, but it does work well with Indian food. And it complements the taste perfectly. IH had never tried it before, and he had an eye opening experience.

June... The horses would love the cake. It's banana, and will be topped with drained fruit cocktail.

It's a spice. Cardamoms are found in black, green and white. The white is needed for Swedish, and other, pastry like stollen. The black has a smoky flavor and is used in African cooking. The green is used in curries and similar dishes. There was white cardamom in the rice pudding. I love cooking meat dishes with green cardamoms.

Good morning all
Heidi - that cake sounds yummy. Happy Birthday to Gil.
Theresa - you sound like you are sorely in need of some 'me' time. Big hugs.
Gail - you've probably gone now but thanks for all that research. I tried but didn't get anything like what you found. That pic certainly is as she described it to us often over the years. Not sure though - the one in the middle in the back is a possibility - hair is just as I've seen in pics of her at the time. Face doesn't quite look like her - could be, not sure. I have copied it - probably illegal - to show my sister for a second opinion.
June - I will look into that site you mentioned later today after our gathering with CP at Broni's.

Cyn, I wouldn't worry about copying the picture illegally. For one, I don't think you plan on selling it. Also, copyrights don't last forever and I would bet that the copyright has already expired. I think it is only 75 years, but not sure.

I learned a long time ago to not start cooking until I see the whites of IH's eyes. He said that he would be home at dark (~ 6 pm) and it's 8:20 pm now. He's not here.

The menu is T-bone steak (from our steer), black beans w/ rice and cake. I'm getting really hungry. But these steaks are kind of lean, so I can't cook them and let them sit waiting, or they'll taste like cardboard.

Tomorrow (today, down under) is my anniversary. 17 years. I had to laugh. My husband was telling his friends that it is 18 years. At least he remembers the day.

My tummy is full. The cake turned out delightfully. I made the banana cake in a bundt pan, made the heavily whipped frosting myself, then filled the center and topped it with fruit compote (drained).

Hello, Friends! I apologize for the last few days and their lack of comments. I'm about 5 or 6 days behind, but have had no time to read or post. I need to head to bed now, as we have another early morning tomorrow. I can't promise much for tomorrow, either, but hope to get caught up soon! Take care, get and stay healthy! Lots of positive thoughts and {{Hugs}} for all!

Morning all - can't sleep.

Happy Anniversary Tami. Hope you are spoiled rotten today!!!

Heidi, did IH make it home or did you eat the supper without him? Angel food cake is my favourite also. Don't think I've had any for decades.

Hi Julie. Hope Monday starts to slow down for you. Take care.

Suzy is right Cyn, great photo. Everyone looks very happy.

Off to get a coffee because I am not going to be able to sleep until later today. TTFN.

This is the weather report I woke up to this morning:

First came the frost bite alert from City of Ottawa public health officials, now a warning from Environment Canada – it's about to get dangerously cold. Forecasts show temperatures plummeting overnight to -23 C; it will feel more like -32 C with the wind chill. And Sunday forecasts a bone-chilling – 35 C with the wind chill.

After we get the groceries, I think I will stay inside (maybe catch up on some sleep). Yikes.

Hi everyone!
Gil

Happy 17th Anniversary Tami and Mr T.

Gail and S - travel safely to SA and have a wonderful time.

I had a wonderful time today. In fact I had to prise Kevin away at nearly 6pm. He was in no hurry to leave at all. It's great to catch up with our on-line friends.

Broni for hosting today.

I think it's time I went to bed. I need to get moving earlier tomorrow as school is back and the traffic is always awful on the first day.

Good night all!

I've decided not to go to the Lion's board meeting. The roads are still questionable, and I just don't feel like it. They really don't need me today, anyway. Instead, I'm gonna try to feed hay to the cow herd. I'll have to stay in 2WD, which means I might get stuck, and I'll have to take it slowly. And IH has promised to man the gates for me to prevent escapes.

Hi all.
Happy Anniversary Tami!

Theresa, good job you are now safe at home and don't have to get out on the bad roads.Saw a truck accident in Canada due to the snow which looked horrific.

Suzy,so nice to relax at the beach.Did you go for a swim?

Today is the start of 3rd semester, only 6 months to go.The assignments look impossible but I suppose 1 question at a time and I will get there.

Everyone should have as many belly laughs as I have had this morning!! Email is a wonderful thing - when your connection is fast.

Nola, I didn't swim, but I walked along the white sand. Greenpatch is a beautiful place! I remember that feeling when I first read my assignments - absolute terror. You'll do well once you get into them!

Theresa, I think I would have tried to survive on whatever was left in the cupboards rather than go out in the weather you described! I can't even imagine that. No amount of layers seems like enough.

Ebob has been asleep since about 7.30 last night. She went out with friends on Saturday night and then to the beach with us yesterday and I don't think she got ANY sleep at all. She is laughing, happy, tormenting her sister - in short it's almost like I've got my girl back. I'll wait to see how she does when school goes back before I jump to too many conclusions, but so far it's looking good.
