I was just checking Budgie nest boxes and was delighted that I have some eggs hatching. I saw a day old hatchling peeking out from under mama.

Baby parakeets may be ugly, but they're so cute, too!

Suzy.. I am so pleased that things seem to be a little closer to the norm where Ebob is concerned. It gladdens our hearts to know you are happy.

I posted a photo of the birthday girls on that other page. It took me a year to be able to tell them apart and I still mess up sometimes.

Still brutally cold here ... I've got the heat in the house cranked up because I just can't seem to get warm. Spring cannot come soon enough for me.

Of course it's cold there. You're in Canada! AKA The Arctic Circle.

June, I hope your lunch with friends was lovely! Were you able to get all of the plates and serving pieces from the BBQ back in their cupboards? It's nice to have the pieces you need, but a challenge to find a place to store them. Hope all is going well with your friend!

Rolanda, has everything returned to normal - or better than normal - since your return home?

Broni, I'm not sure about the timing of your gathering. If it has happened already, I'm sure everyone had a wonderful time!

MizT, I hope the machine gets back in working order! At least Al has had a couple of his treatments. Hoping you are both getting sufficient amounts of sleep! How long will Joy be staying? Today was a better day for AL. He has had a cough, sometimes chemo or radition does that. I got out a bit, went to grocery, only spent $26, so you know I was not shopping long. I bought myself a small ice cream and visited the park, sun was shining, had a car picnic all by myself. Sun on the water ws very nice, and I neded the time away.

Joy will take him tomorrow for his long day, doing radiation and chemo both. I am trying to get an appointment with doc, but it is difficult getting appointment on Monday. this crud will not go away.

Suzy - that's such good news about Ebob. Hope it stays that way. She's experienced life on the other side and obviously it wasn't what she thought. Who are the birthday girls? Have I missed something? Is it Ebob?

MizT - I got such a kick out of reading your Profile page on FB and the things you've done - especially for getting into trouble for showing too much skin at 6 months pregnant. How times have changed!
Heidi - Mr Grass-hopper was waxing lyrical to me yesterday about your farm and how wonderful you (and Gil) were!! He, of course was the one who brought the axes to the party yesterday.

Well, Cyn, the feeling was mutual. I was delighted with the two Grass-hoppers. IH was very impressed with Mr. Grass-hopper. It's funny, but the Sudoku friends I've met in person are some of the nicest people I've ever met.

Judy, sounds like you got a lot accomplished in the garden! We've been so busy lately that it feels like we need to have a day when we get a lot accomplished. We've certainly put some miles on the car and on our feet, though!

It's time to head off to bed. We have another early morning tomorrow - must be up and at a Staples store to receive a FAX from D, then add information and FAX a deposit to her wedding reception venue. We will be having a wedding in the family this summer!

Several of the members of our club own a machine that will do this kind of work. As it starts at around $10,000, we won't be getting one, but might perhaps rent time on a friend's machine. Based on the classes, I'm guessing there's a fairly long learning curve, but you can certainly get some beautiful pieces. This kind of wood turning has been around for several hundred years.

Today, we had a nice visit and lunch with my aunt, her middle son and grandson, some of my siblings and their spouses and my nephew and his wife. Of the 5 hours on the road, I probably slept at least half of that - just couldn't stay awake. I'm beginning to think part of our exhaustion can be attributed not just to a week of busy days, but also to the extreme cold. For the past 3 days, we have worn long underwear, a long sleeve shirt, and a sweatshirt. I've even worn 2 pairs of socks.

I'm going to head to bed, as we have another early morning tomorrow! {{{{HUGS}}}} and positive thoughts and prayers for everyo

Heidi - that the way I see it too. Every Sudoku member I've met has seemed like an old friend to me.

Good Lord! That is 32!!! I would have guessed about 15. Broni and the girls in Victoria will have met even more than that! I hope I haven't missed anyone.

Heidi, I don't worry so much when I hear you are getting snow, but if you said you had another ice storm or whatever it was you had last winter, then I'd worry big time.

Cat story: Nomnom understands English. Last night I said 'Alie feed the dogs please' and Nomnom immediately got up and headed to his dish because he gets fed at the same time.

Julie, I am willing to share more of the chores than she is willing to take on hehehe. AND for goodness sake, I am not worried about the outcome of this cancer stuff. He gonna make it, he has made such outstanding progress that his docs just grin when they see him! Joy is leaving Wednesday, so today is probably last she shall be available for helping me. she gets the one I just cannot do so well, the long day with chemo and radiation both. She leaves him there and goes shopping. Shopping is a chore to me, and takes more $$$ than I have.

We had a high of 49 yesterday, with sunshine. I was about without my jacket. St on my porch in the sun. I do think fresh air and sun are helpful for recovery from bugs.

Sounds like Al is making great progress Tricia, but you just take care of yourself. Hope you get lots of that nice sunshine.
It was rather warm here today and I do not like it hot, especially if it is humid as well.
Finished reading "the girl with the dragon tattoo" yesterday. Belinda has given me the next book but I do need to give my eyes a rest. Once started I just keep reading!!!!
Pleased things are working out Suzy. Lets keep our fingers crossed for continued progress with studies etc.

It will be hot tomorrow so pleased I will not have to bowl. i am umpired for the day so I can sit and watch. I played last week in the pairs competition when I really had not recovered and we lost. Feel OK now though.
Nola, good luck with the studies this semester. You have done so well this far when you were worried that I am sure things will be easier for you than you are worrying about. Sorry that was a mouthful but you understand what I mean.

Hi everyone, posting without reading, just wanted to pop in and say hi gday.

Morning all ... need coffee. I slept in this morning. Temp right now is -33C and that's without the wind chill.

Heidi, Arctic Circle, right -- and Santa is my neighbour. Normal temps for this time of year are -4C, so it is a lot colder than normal for us. A high of -18 is expected for today.

Off to get a coffee and do some reading .......

I've just got my engagement ring back from the jewellers. They have made a wonderful job of it, unfortunately it makes my wedding and eternity rings look dull and old. They have told me that if the stone becomes loose again we will have to have major work on the setting or even a new setting altogether

It didn't snow much last night, thank goodness. This amount of snow is very unusual for Kentucky. In past years, we've had snow only 4 or 5 times per winter. And it doesn't last on the ground long. We've had snow on the ground for a couple weeks now. Even the brief warm ups haven't been able to melt it all.

It has been the same here Heidi, the one lot of snow we had lingered for over two weeks.Hope you get rid of the snow you have and don't get any more.

June, it wasn't great here yesterday either. So far this morning it is overcast and cool. Fingers crossed...

Brenda, vinegar cleans gold - at least I think that was on the list I posted, maybe you can do a home job and all of your rings will dazzle! I just double checked - full strength on gold. I got mine cleaned when a jeweler moved and had a special deal - 3 rings cleaned for $10. I've just noticed I've written in American - I hope you could understand my accent.

Theresa, -4C I can imagine coping with if I were wearing layers, but -17, -32? Hibernation time!

Suzy... those are the winter temperatures I remember when I was growing up in Wisconsin. I remember it rarely got above -20℉ / -29℃ in mid January thru' mid March. That's why I moved south.

How do you get anything done at those temps? You'd freeze solid just trying to walk to your car!

You kind of get used to it, but you don't spend much time outside, unless you're a winter sports enthusiast. Which most people up there are.

Off to pick up the grandies and then I have them for a minimum of 4 hours while their mother has a doctor's appointment. Not looking forward to standing at the bus stop.

These are abnormally cold temperatures for us, Suzy. We get spells like this during the winter, but they're not constant. Later in the week it will get more back to normal, -8, -6. That's going to seem like a warm spell!!!
