Morning all!
Welcome back Gail!
Heidi, I hope you got some sleep last night.
June, I can see you didn't get much during the night. I hope you are catching up now.
I am going to come up with some cheerful news. I think a few of us could do with some cheering up...

Okay, cheerful news is thin on the ground this morning so I will tell you some good news from home.
I walked up to Ally's singing teacher's house last night to pick up a CD of the new songs she has to learn. She has one week to learn about 18 songs. She's not intimidated at all by that. The singing teacher's mother told me that she had been talking to the mother of a 14 year old who also sang on New Years Eve. She called Ally a natural performer with an incredible voice. Now that is nice to hear, BUT, the really great part of that for me is the comparison with Ally of a couple of years ago - the exceedingly shy girl who was bullied relentlessly and spent many afternoons after school sobbing about her day.....

Just by reading the posts since my last comment, especially Vici's roundup, I see there is a lot I have missed out on this week.
I just want to send you all a hug and let you know I feel the love from this room.
Not sleeping all that well at the mo, but I will deal with that next week. Hubby and I got up to do the watering this morning, so I will fill you in later on the week past, not really up to it yet.
First, I will catch up, so a few erratic posts coming up!

June, I see Ken has been sharing the love and given you his cold! Hope you are feeling better by now.
MizT, big ticks for Al for being a Mr Fixit.
More {{{{{hugs}}}}} for Heidi. ♥
Vici, love your 'holding hands' avatar. Passed on your thanks to Bill for the lend of his bed...!
Nola, I agree with you wholeheartedly about euthanasia. I feel it is insane that what we do out of love for our pets when they are in incredible pain or no longer have the will to live, we cannot do for our family.

I just got back inside. Robert helped me cremate Lucky on another huge bonfire. This one was quite lovely. We did it during a heavy snow storm. There was very little visibility with all the huge flakes coming down, and amid that a big, hot fire snapping and crackling. We stayed with the fire until it was mostly burned down, and laughed about Lucky's antics. Robert felt a special affinity for Lucky because Robert has epilepsy, too. Plus they both shared an over-developed sense of humor.

I decided to try something with Frosty.
I have her in a 2 gallon tank that's half land, half water. I put some live, young cherry shrimp from my aquarium in with Frosty. Since they eat bugs, she might like these.

Heidi - it's strange that you say that because of all the dogs you mention, Lucky was the one I felt most affinity for (as much as you can in cyber-space) for the same reason - my grandie Emily has epilepsy too. Hugs to you, Robert and my Em.

Now that I've wished Maddie a HB, I'll change my avatar to one of my new ones. Won't keep it for long because Debs from Melbourne's is similar and she had it first (I hadn't seen it). I only got 3 more approved - couldn't find any picture I liked. Photobucket has changed. What was that site you mentioned Heidi? I looked there once and then didn't save it as a favourite,

Hi everyone, read the posts and do not remember what I read. Have waaaay too much on my mind right now. 2 weeks to Mitchell's big day and still a lot of little details to work out. My thoughts go out to all who need it. I will be getting up early tomorrow. Mitchell is on his school's academic "brain bowl" team and competition starts tomorrow. There are 8 boys. 4 compete, Mitchell is the first alternate. They are going to try to let all the boys compete at least once. Have to hang out for 3 hours, and may not even get to see him.

Hey Cyn suppose we have all done weird and wonderfully funny things in the past,
1; Hairspray under arm
2; Deoderant in hair, and that has to be the day you get your hair looking just right.
3; had a woman come up behind me in a shopping centre once, she wanted to tell me my cardigan was inside out, yikes
There will be heaps more just like it, Funny Hey

Lizzie - I have done that - worn a shirt inside out. And I was in the shopping centre when I realised it. I'd just got there. I quickly ran to the ladies and fixed it. How embarrassing! I still can't work out how it happened - I always hang my clothes right side out.

Envying your warmth, still freezing here. When we went out this morning it was -4C, not sure what it is now but is still cold. Our heating boiler started making a funny noise, a kettle of hot water did the trick. The vent pipe for the condensor froze up and the condensation backed up along the pipe. Pleased that is all it was. Elaine had to climb out of the landing window on to the roof of the garage to access the pipe. We couldn't use ladders outside as it is snow on top of ice.

Good morning everyone!
Heidi - what a beautiful scene you painted of Lucky's send-off. Thanks for sharing.
Maddie!
...and Cyn, I too love the roo avatar. I dreamt that I was staying at someone's house and there was a kangaroo hanging around. I fed it and it was very docile and friendly. It was the best part of the crazy dream!

Oh Lizzie! I have mixed up that kind of stuff before, too. So frustrating. I was doing that back before when I was younger. Once our math teacher in 10th grade came to school with her dress on backwards. She was old to me, but now I couldn't tell you if she was really that old because my perspective is so different now. Anyway, we all laughed at her - poor dear...that memory comes back to haunt me all the time because there but for the grace of God go I!!!

June - hope you wake up all better. Do they have to share EVERYTHING!!!
I took a fall yesterday. Probably why I'm thinking about all that getting old stuff. I was balancing on one foot in my new walk-in closet, putting a sock on and lost my balance. Went backwards and hit the floor before I could break my fall. Landed on my sacrum and then whiplashed the rest of my back, neck and head against the marble bathroom floor. I was loopy all day and am VERY sore today. What is becoming of me????

Brenda, climbing out a window onto a slippery roof because there is ice on the ground sure puts my 30C into perspective.
Vici, that fall sounds nasty. I hope the damage is only temporary. Sending gentle hugs...

Tami, I'm impressed by Mitchell's part on the 'brain bowl' team!
Now it is confession time: although I am very proud of Ally's singing etc etc, something like the brain bowl is what I had hoped for for both girls. Sigh.

Suzy, fortunately the roof of the garage is flat and even though it was slippery on there too Elaine didn't have to go anywhere near the edge.
Tomorrow is Emily's 19th birthday, but she will not get much chance to celebrate as we have to take her back to university in Cheltenham about a 2 hour drive in good weather. If it snows again overnight she will have to go back late as that area has been badly affected, we would hate to get stranded over there.
