Gekko and Friends! (I guess almost 10 p.m. is still evening and not yet night.)

Hi, Suzy, CynB, Heidi, Theresa, June, Tami, Gail, Broni and Rolanda!

Heidi, thanks for the link to the video of the eagle laying her second egg! We have had a VERY busy day today, and I didn't get to the live cam until almost 7 p.m., so hoping for a chance to see her during the day tomorrow.

Heidi, were you able to de-skunk the collies? Do you use tomato juice or have something else that works? Once our D's samoyed got skunked. She was pinky-coral for a bit from the tomato juice, which really didn't do the trick. Is it always at night when this happens? I hope your remedy worked well!

Theresa, it's great news to hear that your D is taking ever-lengthening mini-walks! Good for her. I hope she'll keep at it and do her physical therapy when they give her exercises. It may be painful, but it WILL get better! {{{{HUGS}}}} for her to go along with her favorite chocolate!

Suzy, I hope the plans for the night work out. If not, that sweetie June will play gracious hostess! (It must be quite a relief to have a back-up plan!)

June, I like the sayings from your book! What a great way to start a page!

Theresa, wonderful news that your D is doing better and has a sparkle in her eyes! Sounds like she has a great doctor!

June, your bowling club is great to do the fund raiser - and a very successful one at that!

Tami, good for you for trying to donate blood! It's a shame that you weren't able to give enough for it to be used!

I'm glad the eagle nest cam is as fascinating for others as it is for me! I just wish I could have "dropped by" off and on during the day! Maybe tomorrow!

Heidi, I'm glad the skunk odor isn't as bad today! Sure wish the skunk would move out of your new hay barn! I suppose it's a good thing that it has a strong scent. You wouldn't want to stumble upon him in the dark while doing a cow check!

Theresa, what a great surprise for your grandies! I imagine they will be as happy to have their Mom/Mum home as she will be to be back home in her quiet house!

What a shame about Debby's son! Thank you for letting us know, Heidi! There's no way I could get to Easy today - or probably all week. She has certainly had more than her share of adversity! And how unfortunate that she was in Florida at the time. That will be a sad trip home!

Suzy, another great youtube of Alie! What fun it is to watch her "grow" as a singer/entertainer!

It must be rather breezy at the eagle's nest. I'm seeing her feathers get ruffled as she sleeps. I guess she's a rather sound sleeper.

Suzy, lots of techie information about Macs and PCs/Windows.

Rolanda, I hope you had fun at the zoo today and stayed hydrated! Are there indoor exhibits where you can get in out of the sun?

I'll come back & check Rolanda's links after I post this comment.

June, thank you for your inspiring TOPP! I am inspired by all of my friends here!

I think I will be inspired to get to bed earlier than usual. Maybe I'll make it by midnight - nearly an hour, but I haven't checked any email yet today.

Thinking of all of you, whether you've posted recently or not! Take care! Sending positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and prayers for all of you to share! Good Night!

My friend saw the oncologist today. Last week when she looked at the scan she could see many of the 'lesions' had gone but she could also see other things she had not seen some months ago. This scan had much more contrast than last time so that was the reason. Most have gone or shrunk. There are still three but they are not sure if they are 'active'. She will be off Chemo for three months and then have another scan. All news so much better than about 7or 8 months ago.
Thank you all for the positive thoughts and prayers.

We had a lovely day cruising the Hawkesbury River today. It was lovely being out on the water. We were in the vicinity of where Kate/Sydney has a place and has posted lots of photos.

June, great news about your friend, fingers crossed that the scan in three months show that the lesions are in active.
I have been on FB and saw a post from Bean. From the post I assume that her brother (?) who was suffering with Motor Neuron disease has passed away.
My condolences to her family.

Just checked on the eagle and whichever is on the nest is sleeping with its head tucked under its front. Even sleeping, it is amazing to see. It is 19 degrees for the eagle (-7.2) down under.

Glad to hear that all seems to be well with everyone.
June, really glad to hear that your friend seems to be doing better. Hope the month check up is even better.

Evening..
A nice day at the Zoo, even though it was way TOO HOT, 39C too hot... I left them around 1.30ish.
Popped in at a friends place on the way home (she lives fairly close to the Zoo)..
Got home around 3.30ish.
A bit of a Thunder Storm with pelting rain came through around 4.00, did not last long.

Suzy, yes, my daughter is home. She is in a lot of pain, but that is to be expected. When she got home the girls wandered into the kitchen, eyes wide, as if they couldn't believe their eyes. The youngest asked if she had to go back to the hospital.

Today is a snow day - we are under a winter storm watch. Enough already. I can't see it amounting to too much though because it is too mild out. Right now it's a bit slippery, but the freezing rain has turned to rain.

June, you are definitely an inspiration to me as well. Good news for your friend. She will be in my thoughts constantly!

I'm making supper for my D and her family tonight. Hubby will be running late as he is going to a job fair. I might end up making two suppers.

Just checking on the eagles. I have the sound on a bit and I heard one of them talking. I think they were saying, "Get back here, it's your turn."

Fast check in this morning, we are about to leave for Al's long day at the cancer center today. he thought it best I drive today. I can do that , the driving is not the hard part, it is the waiting hours for him to finish that is difficult. They give him a nice recliner and a blankey, he sleeps most of the day.

JUNE, wonderful good news from your friend, glad to hear, Best wishes the next scan shows all is in remission.

Hugs to all with extras.

I like to get up to good news, especially after the night-from-h*ll. Horrible storm in the early morning hours. ALL the dogs freaked out!!! The storm front came in so violently that I believe that there was either a tornado or massive straight line winds. The roar was deafening.

June... Please give your friend a congratulatory hug from me. Great news about the scan!

We're still having thunder and lightning, and it looks like it'll go on most of the day. I hate doing cow checks during thunderstorms. Especially since I carry a long, metal leg catch to grab calves with. Can you say "lightning rod"?

I just did a check on the eagles. I have the sound on low. Sweetie was on my lap and heard the sounds of birds in the background. He is currently looking behind the desk, on the desk, out the window ... for the birds.

I have a feeling that he wouldn't enjoy meeting those birds. They do eat cats.

You can tell Sweetie was an outside cat for at least a year - he's the only one that showed any interest in the bird sounds.

Heidi, I hope you wear rubber soled boots if you go out with your metal catch. When I was a kid I got caught twice by my siblings in the game, "Let's hold hands, put Theresa at the end, and we'll touch the electric fence." It was fun for them, but not me. I was less than 8 years old. I can tell my siblings loved me.

Morning all,
June, your friend's news sounds 100 times better than 7 or 8 months ago! Thank you for letting us know.

Theresa, I'm so glad your D is home. Now we just have to nag her the same way possum needs nagging - do the exercises etc! Nag her for me please, and give her a hug - relief that it is finally done! Our cat does the same thing with funny noises from the computer - it's hilarious.♥

Morning Suzy. D does not need nagging. She is not to do any therapy right now, just little bits of walking with a walker. She is waiting for the hospital to phone to set up a therapy schedule for her. Since the surgery was done at that hospital, there won't be a waiting list from what I understand.

I have been watching the eagle for the last 15 minutes. Fascinating. Every other time it has been in the dark! We saw a couple in the wild in Alaska and also New Brunswick. We also went to raptor centre in Alaska where they were rehabilitating injured birds.

Theresa, I assumed your D would be doing the same sorts of exercises my mum has to do - leg lifts to strengthen muscles, that sort of thing. She did get out of hospital very quickly though so I shouldn't be surprised they haven't started anything yet.

June, that's a lot of bowls! It has been a very long time...

Just got another weird message on my phone saying I had a collect call from a cell phone and I would have to pay $2.00 to accept the call and another $1.50 for something else. Checked it on the internet and it's some sort of scam. The area code is from Florida. I wonder why these calls aren't included in the do-not-call register. They are probably fly-by-night scams and can't be found anyway.

One day a man is walking down the beach and comes across an old bottle. Picking it up, he pulls out the cork... Sure enough, out pops a huge blue genie. The genie says, "Thank you for freeing me from my prison. In return I will grant you three wishes."

The man says "Perfect.... I always dreamed of this and I know exactly what I want. First, I want 1 Billion dollars in a Swiss bank account."

There is a flash of light and a detailed list with Swiss Bank account numbers appears in his hand.

He continues, "Next, I want a brand new red Ferrari right here."

There is another flash of light and a bright red Ferrari appears right next to him.

He continues, "Finally, I want to be irresistible to women."

A final blaze of light and ... he turns into a box of chocolates!

As the bus pulled away, I realized I had left my purse under the
seat. Later I called the company and was relieved that the driver
had found my bag.

When I went to pick it up, several off-duty bus drivers surrounded
me. One man handed me my pocketbook, two typewritten pages and a
box containing the contents of my purse.

"We're required to inventory lost wallets and purses," he
explained. "I think you'll find everything there."

As I started to put my belongings back into the pocketbook, the man
continued, "I hope you don't mind if we watch. Even though we all
tried, none of us could fit everything into your purse. We'd like
to see just how you do it."

Theresa, sounds like an auto-dial kind of thing, I wonder how many people they catch? Probably only the ones who are used to receiving collect calls.

I'm back from the Lion's Club meeting. This was held at the new restaurant which recently opened down the road from me.. walking distance. It was a short meeting, but the food was good and we had the best waitress we've ever had.... the owners ~10 year old daughter.
