OK, off to feed my Mum her lunch, followed by coffee with my sister at a bayside cafe - nice in this heat and humidity - cool bay breezes.
Hubby is working a 2AM start shift this week. So I then have to come home and get dinner ready by about 5.30 so he can get some sleep before he has to get up at 12.30am. It's going to be a long week!!

I MUST strangle Julie for giving me that Eagle link. I'm spending too much time there, especially in their chat room. Some of us think that mom will be laying a third egg soon, like tomorrow.

I'm trying to decide if I should check the cows in a little while, or wait until much later. The feeding area is in deep mud, so I put 5 hay rolls out in the pasture away from the muddiest conditions. The cows will hang around there when they go into labor, and avoid the muddiest places.

Gekko and fellow Sudokuaholics! (I'm assuming it must officially be night, as it's past 11 p.m.)

Hi, June, Brenda, Broni, Tami, Rolanda, Gail, Theresa, MizTricia, Heidi, Suzy and eaa (all on page 579)!

June, what wonderful news for your friend! I know she was worried about what she thought she was seeing on the scan! Enjoy each day with some reassurance! Continued prayers and positive thoughts about the 3, hopefully inactive, spots! Hoping for excellent news about them in 3 months! {{{HUGS}}}

So glad you enjoyed the Hawkesbury River cruising today!

Brenda, thank you for mentioning the post on fb! Broni, I am also assuming Hugh Chalmers Waldron is Bean's brother. RIP, Hugh!

Sending warm {{{{HUGS}}}} to Bean and family!

Rolanda, even though it was so hot, I hope you enjoyed the time you spent at the zoo!

MizT, I hope Al's long day wasn't too tiring for you! Did you take a book? They ought to have a "family room" for those who accompany the patient and maybe a TV and a recliner or 2 and coffee and hot water for tea.

Heidi, I hope your overnight and morning horrible weather improved as the day progressed!

Theresa, so sorry your rain turned back to freezing rain and snow! Just when you were hoping winter was nearly finished! I hope your D slept well on her first night back home! Nice surprise for your grandies!

June, enjoy the bowls tournament! You'll be bowling a lot, but with a lighter heart!

Thank you for the jokes, Suzy!

Heidi, I loved it - the new restaurant so close to you and the 10-year-old waitress! I bet she got some tips!

Bon Voyage, eaa! Enjoy your trip!

Boy, did that cute little waitress get tips. They started before the food was served, when one of the older members gave her a gold dollar. I don't know how much she got in tips, but it was a LOT.

And the TOPP of page 580: eaa drops a bomb shell.

Wait - eaa - 12 weeks? Can we last that long without you? Have a wonderful time!

Hi, Suzy, CynB, Tami, MizTricia and Heidi!

Cyn, WOW, a 2 a.m. start! No wonder you need to have a meal ready by 5:30! Will be thinking of both of you this week! {{{HUGS}}} Enjoy your visit/helping your Mum to eat, followed by coffee with your Sis!

Tami, thanks for letting us know that Debby posted information! Hope you sleep better tonight! Have a good day tomorrow!

MizT, great idea for you to hold down your recliner! With all you are doing, I think you must need some rest during the day!

Heidi, I was "chatting" on the eagle page today, too! Got to hear Mom and Dad eagle talking to each other, trading places so Mom could hunt for food, and see close-ups of Mom eagle! (Luckily, I caught a busy 40 minutes or so, 'cause I just don't have the time to spend there. But it was all very exciting!

I hope the cows stay in the less muddy areas, Heidi, especially when you have to go out and do cow checks!

Past 11:30 p.m. so I need to start bed-time preparations! Positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{HUGS}}}} and are on their way to all of you! Good Night!

Suzy - still laughing at the 'scarcasticness'!
Reminds me of my boss 25 odd years ago, when we used faxes not emails. He had a run-in with his superior in Sydney office and hung up the phone fuming. He then composed a fax with the info the Sydney man wanted and finished up with a PS - "There was no need to be CARCASTIC!" Sent the fax off and realised his spelling mistake. He was mortified and never lived it down. (eg Are you being carcastic, Lindsay?)

That Sonic Boom rattled the windows here Cyn.
Was that being sarcastic Zusy? Cool spell check only came up with Zuzy! (duh only just saw that) I have real trouble after someone says a word the wrong way that I cannot think how to pronounce it the right way. Gotta go check out the eagles, not enough hours in the day.

Morning all. I did sleep better last night.
Mitchell had his splint taken off yesterday. Has to tape the finger for two more weeks and then go back for another x-ray. I don't remember having this many visits last time he broke a finger.
Have a great trip eaa. We will miss you.

One heifer calf born this morning, and a first time mama in labor. She's having a hard time of it, but won't let me help. Yet. Once she tires out enough to let me approach, I can slip the OB chains on the calf's legs and help pull it out. I am giving her a little more time alone to see if she can have it without help. She was concentrating on me more than pushing it out.

Julie... The meeting was at 6 pm. Our little waitress was at school. She only works at the family restaurant in the evenings, from 5 to 8 pm. I think she makes a fortune there during those hours. Everybody adores her.

Now to check in with the eagles, take my morning meds, have a quick bite, and head back out to the calving pasture. By then the heifer/cow will either have calved or will be tired enough to let me pull it out.

Jullie, they do have a nice waiting room, just no recliners for family. Hot coffee and cocoa available, and hot water, would only need to bring your tea bag for tea. They even put in additional heat cause the automatic doors open and close for such a long time each time they are used, open double wide, seems to make it double cold. It is just the chairs, not comfy and the waiting. They discourage family of chemo patients staying, actually, say leave the patient, and they can phone when he is ready to be picked up again. Sorry to far a drive what with price of gasoline soaring. I do leave to at least get lunch, often run some errands, but only lunch yesterday. Yes, I did have a book to read!

Joyy is 0n her way back, this young lady did what we thought would not be possible. goes to show, it never hurts to ask. She asked her company if she could work remotely, from Birmingham, via computer and telephone, and they said YES. Her possessions are loaded, and on the way, she is driving up with 2 cats, never fun. Hope she will arrive by lunchtime. Unfortunately, she cannot come here. Over the weekend, she was at doctor twice, with an infected pore on her nose. they think possibly MRSA, wanted to admit her to hospital, but not possible with this move that needed to be completed by today. Several friends and family have invited her in till her apartment is ready and her belongings arrive. she might come by here to get a blow up bed, but I can leave that out for her and wave at her through the glass. Al's imune system is just to compromised to be around any infection, and certainly not MRSA. she understands fully.

Joy had a major detour last night, fore she got too far into her trip. Wildfire had interstate closed, and the state road that was the alternate route, she had to go a long way around. Told my sis, via text message, was the longest detour she ever had to take.

I am going back to bed, hops and back still a bother. I will return when I am better company, when I can read and remember what I read longer than ____ that/

Hugs with extras.

Heidi, is it because it is a family business that the child can work there? I thought child labor laws forbid even that now.

Can you imagine this young lady at age 18, going away to college, hunting a part time job, writing her resume, and listing 8 years experience as a waitress???

I AM TIRED. Robert and I had to pull that calf. His head was swollen almost as big as a volleyball. She could not push it out. The calf is alive, but mama is suffering from a temporary paralysis, and can't stand right now. I think she'll be OK in an hour or two. I know it's temporary because I tested her. I let Willow ( a collie) loose, and Willow ran right into the barn and up to the calf. Mama got mad and struggled to her feet enough to lunge forward 5 feet before collapsing. So we're leaving mama and calf alone to rest and recuperate for a few hours in the barn.

Morning all,
MizT, I know all about sitting around waiting to save fuel - luckily it has been at sporting events rather than hospitals.

Sorry to hear about Joy's infection, but glad she will be living close to you. The sun is apparently wonderful for MRSA so hopefully she'll see a bit of that around, especially sincee it is on her nose.

Did the snow melt around the eagles' nest, or have they added more twigs?

Mama is now up and standing, but still weak. She's bonding nicely with the calf, who hasn't gotten up yet, but is looking more alert. She's licking him all over, and moo-ing softly to him. And she's starting to threaten me a little when I approach him. It looks like everything will turn out OK.

MizT... This little girl is a farm kid, anyways. They raise some beef cattle, which she and her older brother help with. Farm kids tend to have a lot of work experience on their resumes when they apply for college and part-time college jobs. They also get some preference when it comes to scholarships because of their work ethics that they learn at a young age.
