OK, I'm obsessive-compulsive and can't let it go. SOMEONE needs to make the TOPP comment. I've been away so much in the past couple of months, so why not let it be me?

I'm back and it seems I've missed Julie, but that answers my question of yesterday about where she was. It must have been a shock for her to keep reading as the news got worse and worse for Heidi!
Mum was in good spirits but she stole my bangles. I had 3 interlocking silver bangles - not expensive ones. She admired them so I took them off my wrist and put them on hers. Not 30 seconds later I asked if she liked them and she said - yes, I bought them at the shop this morning. The cheek!! Haha! Eventually they got a bit uncomfortable so I took them off her arm. I would have left them happily if she didn't want to part with them Any small joy I can give her is worth it!

The movie, The Lovely Bones (someone asked, was it Tami??) was good. It was quite long, well done and well acted. Stanley Tucci will be forever etched on my mind as the sinister serial killer (not giving anything away here, we know that almost from the first scene). It certainly was not a feel-good happy ending movie but it did have a very satisfactory conclusion.

Hello my friends,

Julie good to hear that you are improving.
**Warning** Proud goldfish owner moment! While I was away on the boat a baby goldfish survived 6 adults, we have called him Speedy..he had to be to not be eaten.

Good Maen CynB, Broni, Gail, & Hi & Bye Julie!! The commercials for "The Lovely Bones" make it look like a good one!! I have a hard time sitting still for that long in a theater, will try to find the book, if not, I'll wait for it on DVD.

Good Morning, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Yep, I'm back. I've joined the ranks of those who do not sleep well. I was told it was common after the surgery and have been trying to ignore it. (While at the hospital and rehab, that was easy. You just assume all that waking up has to do with nurses coming in for vitals or medications - or your crazy roommate. My physical therapist periodically asks how my sleeping is. I blamed the last few weeks on bad or uncomfortable beds. Now I know it's me, as it's difficult to sleep in my own bed, too. Wondering if I should break down and admit the difficulty to doctor and accept the medication offered.

So sorry I missed Gail, CynB, Broni and Suzanne!

CynB, thanks for the anecdote about your Mom and YOUR bangles! Also, thanks for the recommendation for the movie.

Broni, I hope your time/adventures on the boat were lovely! I haven't caught up on reading yet to see if you told us about them. Welcome to our crazy world, little Speedy! Sounds like he/she is a survivor!

Suzanne, please extend warm Happy Birthday wishes to your brother Chris!

June, I hope you're having/will have a wongerful day! Happy Birthday and many more!

Happy Belated Anniversary wishes to Gail and hubby! So sorry I missed you!

Speaking of missing people, I visited FB for the first time since pre-surgery (beginning of November) and found SOOO many wonderful birthday wishes. I apologize to everyone who sent good wishes for not responding. Somehow life has become too busy to even visit FB. I will try not to feel guilty about neglecting my house cleaning and Christmas cards. However, I continue to feel guilty about neglecting my friends. Love to all of you!

Thank you, Gail, for the update on the first anniversary and your visit to Bill. I hope he can avoid any further surgery!

CynB, your Mum's psychic connection to the sinking of the ship is interesting/amazing. Suzy, the same goes for your Mum's dream. Unfortunately, that dream connection is a bit more unsettling.

Gail, I apologize. Somehow I missed that you have a missing cat. I could say that you would be welcome to one of ours, but would be kidding. I hope as I read to learn that the prodigal has returned. Also, I haven't read yet - has Beth returned from her travels?

June, I ope all goes will with Ken's travels!

Belated Welcome to Theresa From Small Town Canada. I hope you enjoy being here as much as the rest of us!

Oh, dear, I really need to get caught up on my reading quickly. I just read that Gail's Punch had returned (page 55, I think) and came back here to comment. Thank's, Heidi, for updating me. I'm afraid to ask - have I read all the worst yet, Heidi? I hope there is no more!

And now, ta-da! (Sorry, I forgot how to make the little musical notes - and not sure it can be done on a Mac.) I am sitting eating my breakfast at the computer. It's really NOT messy, as I eat dry Total flaked cereal. I don't usually look at each flake before plopping it into my mouth. For some reason, I picked up one and looked at it. It's a heart - about 1 inch from top to bottom and maybe 1 1/2 inch across! It's REALLY a recognizable heart (not like the "Virgin Mary" in the grilled cheese sandwich or Michael Jackson in the clouds. I have set it aside for hubby to take a picture with his digital camera when he gets up. I think it's a reminder for all of us to keep each other in our hearts. Love you all!

Julie..... to make those notes on a mac, go to the top of the screen, where it says edit. Select "Special characters" Go to Miscellaneous Symbols under All Characters, and you'll find ♩♪♫♬♭ Or segue to Musical symbols for 𝄀𝄁𝄂𝄃𝄄𝄅𝄆𝄇𝄈𝄐𝄑𝄒𝄞𝄡𝄢♭♮♯𝄪𝄫

I have read a few more pages and was delighted to see that Mamacita is back. I'm another one who didn't get involved with Farm and Zoo on FB. Just no time for it if I can't stay caught up here!

Theresa, condolences to your husband and you on the passing of his aunt! It's never easy, whether expected or not. Will keep you in my thoughts & prayers.

CynB, I hope the publicity will get things straightened out with your solar panels and bills! There's just NO excuse for such incompetence!

Hoping everyone who is ill or injured is improving, including Vici and MizT!

Nola, good luck with your course! It's great news that you will still be able to pop in here on occasion!

Hi all, just popping in to say hello. The funeral of my husband's aunt is Monday; they had to wait for out of town relatives to be able to get in for it.
Thanks for the welcome Julie. I did not go through all the posts when I joined so I didn't know you had surgery and I won't pry. Hope everything is fine now.
Heidi, sounds like you're getting a lot done. There's no way we could dig any kind of holes in the ground here. Weather today is milder, but they are predicting light freezing rain. Oh well, comes with the territory for us.
Cyn, my mom had a form of dementia before she passed away. The last six months were very painful for the family. There were funny moments though too. One time she was convinced there was a pig under the bed. I checked the rooms for her, but could find no pig (surprise, surprise). She almost clocked me across the head with her purse because she didn't think I had looked hard enough.
Hait is very much in my thoughts. I saw a news report yesterday that the final tally could be close to a quarter to half a million. That just makes it seem so unreal, and I mean no disrespect by that. My heart just breaks at the thought.

Theresa.... Robert had to dig the holes in ground frozen solid. He wanted to get a lot of hours in, so I figured that would do it. It was VERY slow work..... until he got beneath the frost line..

BTW... Robert is my part time hired hand. NOT my husband. I have to hire Robert because my husband will not do any work around the farm. If you see references to IH, that stands for Idiot Husband.

I have not got time to catch up on the last couple of pages. Thank you for the birthday greetings. Imagine me yesterday on top of the ladder, surgical mask (could not breath easily) and fogged up safety glasses holding an orbital sander to the ceiling. I did not do a very good job but we are going to undercoat today anyway. I will be back home later today but will have Laura so there will not be much spare time. Catch you later.Must get to the painting.
