I ended up driving AND paying for the meal.

NOW TO ADD INJURY TO INSULT.... I think I broke my middle finger today. While hanging a gate. The funny part is that Robert also hurt the same finger on the job.

Good evening everyone. Just home after a long day at school. Started teaching an hour early for "tutoring" and ended 4 hours later than usual do to open house. It was for the parents of incoming students who might want to attend our magnet program. I think we did a good job.

Good afternoon lovely SA people. Late today, my son popped in to avoid his ex-wife (long story), he had just left when hubby popped in for a cuppa. I wish he wouldn't do that so often - I'm running late with everything now. But I suppose he didn't know Andrew had hidden here for 2 hours. Love em both - just like my day organised.

to June (sent you a message) and to Suzanne's brother. He's a young-un, my little bro is 60 in August! 60!?!? That is my earliest memory because he was born at home. I was 2yrs 7mths old.
Julie - Re the heart shaped flake. I went in our local fruit/vegie market the other day and the checkout girl had a perfect heart-shaped potato. I told her to photograph it as it wouldn't last. Sell them on eBay!
Theresa - sorry to hear you Mum had dementia. This is our second experience with it as Dad had it as well - he passed away in 2006.
Heidi - sorry Gil had an accident - hope he's ok. And sorry about your broken finger. Sounds like by the end of the day you both needed dinner out no matter who paid!

I'm gonna feed the dogs NOW, then go to bed. Maybe I'll feel a little less painful in the morning. I have the fractured finger taped to the finger next to it to stabilize it right now. I'll get a splint tomorrow morning. No, I haven't been to the Doctor. I've broken fingers before (and this one repeatedly) and know what it feels like. And what to do.

Julie, thank you for the reminder, I am not sure if I gave an update on Bill's health status.
He had his follow-up appt on Monday (this is the check-up after his initial surgery in October), and got the from the surgeon. Apparently all is well and should get better as time goes by, and Bill says that he is seeing improvement every day. so as far as all is concerned, that is the end of it.

Nice to be back home but a busy evening. I have been trying to send out thank you's but not sure how far I will get. Lots to do tomorrow and I will have a girl in tow! I think my son hads limited access so I probably will not be around much for awhile after Sunday.
Thank you to all my SA9a friends who sent me birthday wishes.
Ken is out of Myanmar and now in Vietnam. He will be back here Tuesday and will join me in Melbourne at the weekend.

Heidi - sorry about the finger, the truck, the deer and the dinner...what started out as a good day really hit the skids!
So do you have your middle finger all wrapped up? Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode...not that a laughing at you.
Off for a jog in my hood now..."the mother of all storms" is coming in tomorrow, so I'm going to take advantage of good weather when I can.
Hugs to all!

Getting ready to sort out the cows going into the calving pasture and also sorting out 2 animals to go to the stockyard later today. Fortunately, the hospital and urgent care center are both along the route I have to take...... so,m I'm going to stop at one or the other on the way back and have my hand looked at. I'm 95% sure I have a broken bone.

Hello to all you wonderful people!

Happy Birthday and yummy cake and fresh flowers to you, CynB! Hope your day is full of fun and good health!

Gail, thank you for the official (doctor) health update on Bill (chuckling still, Brenda)! I guess I was taking your report of what Bill said as the official word. Bill must be doing something right!

Nola, so good to see you, if only briefly! Theresa is right - remember to take care of yourself!

Theresa, yes, the grandies are cute and wonderful, but, oh-so-full of energy! Sending along some positive vibes for your daughter to feel much better tomorrow!

June, Ken's trip sounds like a whirlwind! Will he have some time to rest after he returns home and before your Egypt trip? Did you do anything special for your birthday (buy yourself something wonderful)?

Hi, Vici! How are you feeling? Soo, is the "mother of all storms" going to bring you some snow tomorrow?

Heidi, it sounds like another busy day. Take care of yourself! Hope all is well!

Nola, please extend positive vibes to Judy. I hope the ill-effects of the chemo are minimal and she's feeling stronger again for the next set starting on the 27th!

I'm up fairly early today (being a Saturday!). Today is shopping day but before that, I am heading over to my son's place to look in on my grandcat while he is away for a couple of days...oh, and to retrieve my lawnmower and whipper snipper they borrowed...

I'm back from the Urgent Care place. My right hand and wrist are in a splint so I have no use of them. It's mostly soft tissue damage, but with a re-dislocation of a joint in my middle finger. There is still the possibility of a hairline fracture as well.

I didn't get the cow and calf to the stockyards, either. I was sorting out the cow to sell because she's a chronic fence jumper and smasher. She continued her winning ways today by smashing through a 5 ft. tall wooden fence and escaping. If she keeps this up, she's gonna suffer a fatal case of lead poisoning.
