It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

I hope the dogs enjoy their dinner, Heidi! Are you still feeding Survivor, the calf, with liquid in a bucket?

Thanks, Heidi, for setting me up for the TOPP! As is so often the case, I didn't realize we were there.

Tomorrow is an early get-up here. As it's nearly midnight, I will scurry off to bed. I look forward to "seeing" all of you tomorrow! Good Night, All, and stay healthy!

Goodnight Julie - I was there for some of the conversation but left to have a nanna nap. I developed asthma on Saturday night after spending the evening outside at a friends house and not being dressed warmly enough (I must keep my chest and back warm these days). We Queenslanders are not used to colder weather and we are experiencing a cold snap at present. Not cold by others standards but cold by ours and with a wind chill factor. The upshot was that Saturday night and last night I did not sleep well and although the asthma is much improved today I just needed a little sleep.

You generously gave me a TOPP earlier, Julie. It was the least I could do.

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is well. Wish I could get here more often but school is keeping us really busy. Next year should be less hectic. We are taking a little field trip in 2 weeks to a place called Fort Steele. http://www.fortsteele.ca/ if anyone is interested in checking it out. Spending three nights from Sunday(14th) to Weds.(17th). Should be lots of fun. We are going with our friends from the States.

Good afternoon everyone.
I had 2 pages to read since early this morning,I just love it when there is lots to catch up on.I also, have been watching the easy pages about the changes and good and bad about the site.
Broni was the one who put me onto SA,and having met her,I felt just a little more comfortable here.
On the computer, we don't have facial expressions, voice tone or hear a chuckle in the voice. It is sometimes hard to pick sarcasm or a genuine comment, and being a shy person,I would often be embarrassed by my comments if I said something stupid (which is common).
I LOVE reading easy but LOVE being here.

Wow, Rena - just checked out Fort Steele. Looks really interesting. And I love the way they've done the website. Hope you have a great time there.
Hi Nola - I agree, I love easy but I love being here on SA.

Afternoon all!
I'm finally home and finally caught up on the posts.

Please don't pick on my grammar, it wasn't taught when I was at school! Having said that, I too have pet peeves like 'me and', my kids now correct themselves mid sentence.

The writing my kids were taught doesn't even count as running writing! They were taught to 'print' and to 'write' - it's hard to tell the difference between them!

Hi all, I've had a laugh to myself over the conversation on here. I thought there couldn't be another family likes mine out there, but I find that lots of my friends on here have the same 'peeves' about punctuation and grammar. I will not include spelling as that can be my downfall. All in this household cringe at the mis -use of the apostrophe. I even hate text speak, all my re ts are written out in full with punctuation

We are in a spell of glorious weather here at the moment, so I am spending as much time outside as I can. Trouble is I still have to pop in and out of the house to empty the hot swirly thing, but the up side is everything is drying outside.

Good morning all! Looks like a beautiful day here! 43F to start the day! Yesterday was VERY windy and only got up to the 50's. Even though the sun was warm, I was chilly at Ian's soccer game with the cold wind. Of course, it was the first day I had been out of the house in over a week, so that probably contributed to it.

Just about to go to bed and checked Easy. There's an Air France jet missing after leaving Rio this morning. It has not landed.
I'm heading off to bed but will do that via a few news channels on my way.
Good night all - I hope for a miracle.

All of the kids are now home. Jerry surprised me last night with strawberry shortcake that he made from scratch. He put a candle on it and everything because the kids weren't home for my birthday. It was very sweet of him and the cake was delicious too! Plus he made a great meal of ribs and spaghetti salad!

Good Maen Sudokuland. It is clear and mild this morning, going for warm and hot by afternoon. Humidity not so high so the hot is easier.

Loved reading all the grammar and spelling talk. And Juli, yes, I did go to bed. I thought I sent a good night message, but I do not see it.

We also had handwriting lessons, and were given a special piece of paper, had to write a paragraph. Teacher would mount it on colored heavy paper and put them on display. They were judged, and prizes given. I never won hehehe.

Remember the inkwell and the pen staff that dipped into the ink? that is what we were required to use for writing lessons, and I wold always somehow manipulate that pen in some fashion to cause a splatter of ink drops on my paper. We did have " fountain pens" we had to fill with ink. THEN came the cartridge pen, no more inky fingers. Gee, was I in school before ball point pens?

"Me and her went" is one of my pet peeves, and yes, I have wondered what one of those looked like, too funny hehehe. I am seeing so much grammar on the internet in the e-zines that would not pass when I was in school, and some is creeping into the news on the big news providers.
Someone was checking spelling and grammar on easy when I first started reading. I forget what name was used, but I remember reading posts.

OOOPS my smilies are missing, so nothing fancy today friends.

Hi Cyn, Hi Stella.

A quick check of news stories about the Air France plane do not sound promising. It was reported that the plane cannot be in the air at this time, it would have run out of fuel. That no emergency message was sent indicates it went down fast. Why it went down is unknown at this time, an automatic message indicating electrical malfunction was the last message received.

I too pray for a miracle and survivors are found.

'Myself and her went' is just as bad!

I'll hold my hands up to learning to write with a pen you had to dip into the inkwell, but fountain pens and cartridge pens were around but a little bit too expensive for the likes of me. In my last year at junior school we actually got biros, these were precious items and had to be accounted for each day. Now I can lose 2 or 3 of those critters a day.
(another peeve lose and loose)

But for now, I must be off to look for something to wear for this evening. Bryana is making her Confirmation tonight! I'm not sure I have anything that fits me any more. With all of my injuries in the past year, the weight keeps adding on!
It's a big week here. Meghan turns 21 on Wednesday! Boy how time flies! Ian is graduating from 8th grade on Saturday! His school makes a big deal of it. They even have caps and gowns!
Have a great day!

I hope all is well with everyone today. When you were talking about grammar, spelling and writing, it made me laugh!! I am from the generation that taught that in school. I also went to a secretarial school where that was enforced...It's (it is) funny, my mom, aunt & I are all left-handed, but my aunt's handwriting looks nothing like moms & mine (ours look the same!! Weird!!)
Going to be a beautiful day here in Utah...Hope everyone has a great day!! Will try to check in later, TTFN
