Mamacita.... I would like to know how you fell off the scooter, too.
It sounds a bit like the time I took to the air in my wheelchair.

Morning MizT!
We have a big week this week. Tonight we will go to the University to hear about what courses Ebob needs to take next year at high school to help her get into the Uni courses she wants.
Tuesday she has a job interview followed by gymnastics.
Wednesday I tutor, hubby will take ebob to baseball training.
Thursday there is a Lions changeover dinner in Kiama and Ally and co are singing there.
Friday is the usual bowling.
Saturday is baseball.

Mamacita did tell us how she fell off her scooter a while ago. It would be back several pages by now though.

I can't remember reading how Mama managed to come off her scooter either. I remember her saying she had come off but not how. Never mind as long as she is getting over it and all her other problems that is all that matters.

Heidi and Brenda, Your memory is intact. After reading Suzy's response, I began to wonder if I had said how I came to fall, because, truth be told, I don't really know how it happened. I THINK, and that's not always easy mind you, that the fall was caused by high curb cutouts, my story and I'm sticking to it!
I have noticed that there are many areas that are not evenly paved at a low rise, thus making it a bit difficult for some chairs and scooters....Since there are not many who are in chairs or scooters, it has gone unnoticed until now. Baby strollers and the like have no problem....I will be reporting this since I am on the board....Now back to 'How'...I was not speeding, but was trying to get out of the path of oncoming traffic, watching the traffic more than the incline, and hit it at a wrong angle, thus turning over...Jazz actually was trying to pull me in the right direction that would allow me to stay balanced, but he wasn't quite big enough to keep me from going over...It was a big surprise to me..lol.
Well I have learned to be more aware from that experience, so a lesson well learned.

MAMACITA, glad to know you were not hotrodding or drag racing the scooter hehehe. I do hope you manage to keep it upright now. I imagine it was a frightening thing, not to mention hurty.
SUZY, that is a very busy schedule for this week. Hope it all goes as planned.
HEIDI, when were you in wheel chair and how did you take to the air in it? I do think you said you once went to fast down a ramp and turned over, but forgot why you were using a wheel chair, CRAFTs you know.

I was in a wheelchair the last time I broke my leg nearly 2 years ago. I was confined to it for over a month. I actually went down 2 ramps in a row outside my study door (one from the study to the patio and the other from the patio to the sidewalk). I got up some serious speed and launched the wheelchair off and over the sidewalk. I stayed in it until it went upside down in midair.
I was going crazy being housebound, and wanted to go outside and sit by the fish pond.

Mama, you have to be careful on those scooters. I have only used one once. I was delivering it to a friend after my MIL passed away. Stevenage is built with tracks especially for cyclists and scooters so very rarely do motorists and scooters come in to contact.
I have just watched your son's tribute to Sully. It must have taken him a long time to select and present all the photographs. Even though these are still photograph the love in and of your family shines through.

Ahhhh, I remember the story now, Heidi, yes, you did a good job of getting out of the house. I was never brave enough to try the ramp by myself after I broke my ankle, I was happy to just go to the back porch alone and sit out there when the house got too confining.

There I agree. I have noticed that I don't have a very strong sense of self preservation. It never occurs to me that I could get hurt.

Good afternoon lovely SA8 people.
Just passing through without reading, except this page. Hope all is well.
Heidi - where-ever they're sending the crazy people, apparently I'm going too (thanks Broni) but now I know I'll be in good company.
Rotten day here - how's a man supposed to earn a living mowing and gardening? He'll send me back to work soon.

Just back from Dubbo. We had a great time Met Maureen and her hubby while we were there. Laura loved the Zoo and the overnight package we had was really worth while. We got to feed, see and learn about the animals and the breeding programs that they undertake. Heidi you would have been very interested.
Have not read the last 4 pages. A bit tired tonight as we were up early to do an early morning tour (which included feeding the giraffes) and stayed at the Zoo till after lunch and then a 5 hour drive home.

Good Morning Sudokuland. I am up early again, I have been cooking again, in the cool of the morning. Yesterday was not as bad heat wise inside my house, we had some haze and clouds in the afternoon. that keept the sun from burning down on the entire side of my house.
I found a package on my porch yesterday, Sunday. It was not there Saturday morning when I watered plants, must have been delivered late afternoon, when I was out in the office with AL. It was from daughter, birthday pressie, 3 pair of shoes! she knows I wear crocks everywhere, will not consider any of my old shoes, so she sent me some she thought would be comfortable for summer. Earth Shoes Sandals. I put on and wore one pair till bedtime, yep, comfy. One is brown, one is a lovely sage green and the other a powder blue. She knows my favorite colors in clothing, lots in my closet will go with those colors of shoes. So, I will wear crocs at home and in the yard, but put on my dress up shoes to go out hehehe.

Your birthday present sounds wonderful MizT. I wish I could find some shoes which were comfortable and dressy.
Rolanda it was nice to chat with you on FB earlier. If I don't see you before you go away, have a wonderful time and take plenty of photos.
June your trip sounds great, my daughter would love the giraffe stuff.

Good Maen, Sudokuaholics! Still no time to read, so I'm just popping in to say all is well. We filled our Tamiflu prescriptions, as grandies were attempting to share their flu with us. So far (knock on wood) we have avoided the flu. Good wishes for health and happiness to all of you!
