Good morning to all my friends.
I have done the puzzles while Laura and Hubby are still asleep. It is going to be a rather cool day here(Max 15*c) and cooler at our daughters!
Heidi I have answered a couple of your questions on the jigsaw pages.

I did not hear of an earthquake in Tassie, only the one in NZ.
Nz is about 1,400 miles or 2,200 K from Australia Suzanne.
And eaa is in North West part of Tassie.

My sympathy on the air conditioning, MizT. It's been just too hot to live without it. How did our ancestors do it?

One of my collies stole a couple of strawberries off the kitchen counter a couple of days ago. I had just picked them in my garden. They must have enjoyed them a lot, because they then stole a bag of cherries and were munching on them yesterday. I found the bag and a few pits on the carpet in my study.

Good afternoon all. Just a quick stop in. I may not have my internet connection until July 22. I have spent 75 minutes yesterday and 96 minutes today on the phone and still can't get the problem solved. I am having my mom call tomorrow to see if she can get something done. I will be back as I can.

Vici, happy birthday.

If I miss any birthdays or anniversaries I am truly sorry. I will try to catch up as I can and my mom will keep me informed.

This morning they will be taking the airport bus to Harbin and will catch the flight 3:55pm to Hong Kong.
Two nights in Hong Kong and I’m sure she will find time to pop in and say high from there.
Departs Hong Kong at 1500 hrs and arrives in Perth at 2240hrs...

Wow ...what an adventure!

And now...back to the grape vine for me.
I will put some photo’s on my page when we are back to full speed internet connection wise. It takes tooooooooooo long at this speed.
A few people have asked about the grape variety.
There were three vines and there are now only two remaining… succumbed to the renovators about 10 years ago [give or take a year or two…who would know…damned CRAFT’s] One of the remaining vines is an ornamental and has the most beautiful autumn foliage...I am not sure what the remaining grape is...there was a sultana and I think a wine variety. It will be interesting to find out what grows after this long awaited pruning.

Morning all!
My mother is here for a few days. My brother has given her a dog for her birthday. I haven't seen it yet. I don't think she'll bring it here because of our dogs. She's going to call it Spencer, which I think is after the nerdy guy on Criminal Minds. She couldn't remember which show when she was telling me about it and I thought of that afterwards.

Ebob had her first day at work yesterday. She is officially a check out chick! When she arrived, along with another first-dayer, the boss said 'we are really, really sorry, but it is very busy and we need you on the registers ASAP. Here are the emergency exits, here's how you work the registers, call if you need help, now GO!'

Hello lovely people -trying to get here occasionally and have even read a few pages today.
Great to hear from Rolanda - what a trip she's had. Wonderful!
Yesterday I wished Vici Happy Birthday on her page but am late wishing Nola's daughter Renae Happy Birthday for yesterday. Hope she had a good day.
Earthquake? Must keep up with the news better. Tsunami threatening the east coast of Oz - didn't hear about it, glad it came to nothing since we live very close to said east coast.
Brenda - I remember Lucy - don't have a smiley for the grape episodes but have these for two other classic episodes.
Work to do - miss you all!

Suzy - hope Ebob has a good day. First day on the job is usually confusing and awful. I never wanted to go back on the second day.

And because it gave me a huge laugh...

A guy went through Ebob's register 4 times. He bought a lolly/candy, a drink, shampoo, then the conditioner he forgot. At first we said he must have been bored, or checking out her work, but then I said maybe he was checking you out. No way Mum, she says, he was REALLY OLD. How old? Oh, probably 30. When I had stopped laughing long enough to draw breath I said - that old?? Did he have a cane?

Thinking of Suzy's Mum having a new dog reminded me that Jewel was 1 year old yesterday. Menace that she is! Who ever heard of a poodle that PREFERS to be outside stirring up the neighbourhood, digging up the garden etc. Aren't they supposed to be lap dogs?

Not exaggerating, Suzy. This is one smart dog. She and I clash over just who is the leader of the pack. It's me, but she thinks she is. Colin is definately not!

Good morning everyone, hope you're all well.
Bean and Gail - had no ill effects from the bout of slave-labour, hands a bit swollen, but nothing to worry about. It seems I am getting my life back! Hooray!
Probably should do a bit of work in MY garden ... meh! Manana. (with a squiggly thing over the "n" - my computer doesn't speak Spanish/Mexican, but I'm sure you know what I mean. Well, someone probably does.)
Nice day here - sun shining, though clouds are coming across. Weighing up the pros and cons of hanging the washing outside - do I trust Melbourne weather? Of course not! I always feel guilty whenever I use the dryer - and stupid when I don't and the rain suddenly pours down! Well, it's Life, Jim.... ;)

Not getting much work done today - need a break. But I still have to finish off the BAS and the end-of-year stuff. Can't get motivated today.
MIL is out of hospital again (3 times in 5 weeks). The Blue Nurses are visiting her every day and Col's sisters are alternating days to spend time with her. The docs can't do anything else for her. But she sounded cheery on the phone yesterday. She's an amazing lady.

Hi Judy - thanks, having a reasonable day as opposed to some I've had in the past few weeks. It's cold here in Brissie (for us)- 15deg at 11.20am. I think we feel it here because our houses are built for hot weather and when the cold hits, we don't know what to do. I'm NOT lighting the fire at this time of day nor wasting power putting on the A/C so I continue with frozen arthritic fingers. Aren't I a martyr?

Hiya Judy, Cyn, Suzy...is there anyone left on here?
I'm about to have a coffee... while I prioritise my list...
The sun is shining so I should get outside. I'm glad you have recovered Judy... next time... if there is a next time... we will have to organise lunch. This hard yakka is killing me!!

Yesterday was to be my rest from the garden ... it was so hard to get myself firing on one cylinder let alone the lot!! Took me until past midnight to get the soup made and the stew started.

Hi again! Hello Bean :) Sorry, I got sidetracked - I went outside and felt the sun shining down and felt an overwhelming need to plant the things I bought at the farmer's market on the weekend.
So, I have tilled the soil, planted my bulbs and a few other goodies, pulled up some weeds, and dug up and moved a bush that was patently in the wrong place. Now I am itchy, but I'll see how that progresses. Mostly I'm feeling GOOD - all that tilling does wonders for the system - don't know about the plant I moved, but it does self-seed, and from what I've seen it's as tough as the proverbial old boots. The garden looks quite a bit more garden-like, and somewhat less jungley. :D

Back again when I should be doing something constructive - missed Suzanne, Bean and Judy.
Wanted to ask my fellow Aussies, and this may have been discussed during the week or two that I didn't make it here (if so, I apologise) - Is anybody else watching Masterchef Australia? I studiously avoid all of these types of programs but when my 2 eldest granddaughters had a sleepover in the week before last, they insisted I watch - I am now hooked! And I don't even like cooking - I DO like food though.

Good to see you back Cyn.
I try to avoid that type of programme too, but D#2 watches every bit of junk tv going so I sometimes see the cooking programmes and occasionally I will watch them myself later. Trouble is we have so many on the tv now that I could watch them all day

Good morning all! Cloudy today, expecting some rain. Need to get some inside cleaning done today. 3/4 of the outside of the garage is primed. (It needed to be primed before painting because the wood was only stained before) The weather this summer has not been cooperating so have not made much progress. We're heading up to Smuggs next weekend. My mom wanted to go, so my sister got an extra condo. We'll stay with my mom.

Good night Suzy! That was trial by fire for Ebob! Great that she loved it. I remember when Bryana started at SPAC. The first day they put her on soft ice cream but she was never shown how to do it. I guess it's a lot harder than it looks. You have to hold the cone a certain distance away. It has to be perfect or the cone comes out lopsided. Also the machine is very sensitive and you actually have to turn it off a certain amount of time before you want it to stop because it keeps going. She only did it for a short while before she gave up and went to the register.
