Power went out last night at 10.30 so I am in withdrawals but while it is back on (after 20 hours) I am getting my fix!

I am just starting to catch up on the last couple of pages, but I must quickly post and say to Nola, I hope Greg is ok, haven't seen anything since he was going to have a scan so not sure if you've posted since. Just wanted you to know you and Greg are in my thoughts.
Hope all is well.
Gotta love that morph!

Hi there everyone.I just got up from a sleep.
Greg is ok.He has a kidney stone which was moving through his system causing the pain.He still hasn't passed it yet but they let him go with pain relief if it happens again.
Thanks for your concern.
I was at the hospital with him until lunch time, brought him home then went back for groceries and script.
Crashed on the lounge for 4 hours and feel much better.Gotta clean up now as the house looks like a bomb hit it.

I'm here, too. I still haven't called my doctor... I slept almost all of yesterday and didn't wake until her office was closed. This morning I intended on calling her right away, but my phone book is missing, along with her number. I shall have to go on a major hunting expedition. I'm sick of this coughing.

Hi all
Nola pleased to hear that Greg is ok... I know that kidney stones are yucky but it could have been worse.
Heidi hope you get to see your doctor soon this is going on too long.
We are having a bit of a breezy day today but it is still warm. No more falling asleep in the sun for me.
Hope everyone else is fit and healthy and enjoying life. Will post more whn I get a proper Internet connection (using my phone at the moment and it is slow)

Morning everyone. I am getting a slow start to my day today. I have a new medicine, a muscle relaxer for the back and it makes me sleepy. Boy did I sleep good last night! Just hard to get going today.

Did I say what doc told me? Arthritis in the spine, no herniated disc, that part is good. Said it sounds like a pinched nerve somwehre but nothing showed that on MRI. Schedule me for an epidural block, but they have not called me about that yet. More pain pills and take the muscle relaxer.

Hmmmmm. It sounds like Greg will soon experience an event close to one women experience. This is the closest a man can get to childbirth. Has he named the stone yet, Nola???
(I know... I'm cruel..... but this is not life threatening.)

MizT... those epidural blocks are a mixed blessing. They are horrible to go through, but they're well worth it. They keep me comfortable with 2 degenerative vertebrae, 2 degenerative discs, a herniated disc and osteoarthritis in the spine.

Heidi..hope the new medications do the trick and you are back to normal quickly.
Same goes for you MizT,and having a better sleep must help.

I have the new meds. My GP put me on a cough syrup with codeine. After the first dose, the coughing has already let up a little. It also tastes good. I love my Doctor. She's great.

'Morning All.
Glad Greg is OK, though in pain. Happy birthday to the twins.
Ken will be home tonight, thank goodness. I got one of the worst tummy bugs I have ever had. If I could have walked as far as the computer I think I would have left you all a farewell message! Slept most of yesterday and now on the mend. Must go and get some medication as I think Ken must have taken it all away with him!
Pleased you are finally getting some medication to help the cough Heidi.
MizT, hope they sort our the treatment for your back.

June, that sounds dreadful! It's a shame you can't send someone else out to get the medication for you. Do you have to drive to the airport to pick up Ken?

Happy Birthday Kailah and Maddylain!!!

Heidi, glad your new meds are working.

As I said on last night's easy Heidi, Vale Senator Edward Kennedy. It got no response, which is at least better than getting my head bitten off for saying something deemed inappropriate.
He was a dedicated politician, the last of the dynasty. I believe he was a vociferous advocate for the poor.

Have to go to another sad funeral today - my former husband's niece, therefore the cousin of my kids. She was Karin's age (36) and handicapped. A long sad story but I won't elaborate. She's with her Mum now. RIP Natalie - you touched our lives and our hearts.

MizTricia, good news/bad news about your back. I'm glad the muscle relaxers work. Heidi once described the epidural block and it sounds like you will be out of commision for a day or two afterwards. I hope it works for you!

Cyn, sorry to hear about Natalie. My thoughts will be with you today.

Gail, have a great day at Bean's.

There was a long time between my posts because it's 'that' time of day. The house is almost empty though, just a few more minutes...

I have actually gotten used to those epidural blocks. I was doing a little mental mathematics and realized that I've had 34 of them so far!!! I keep hoping for them to be really bad. The pain doesn't last long, but the worse the pain is, the better they work. I think the first one is the worst because you don't really expect it to be as bad as it is. After that, you're prepared.

I am saddened by the loss of Senator Edward M. Kennedy....He indeed was a Lion for the middle-class and poor, in fact for all who were in need regardless of their status.... May he rest in peace, and may his life's work be honored by those who are in position to carry his efforts forward. Something must be done about universal health care as a tribute to him.
Glad to see those who have been ailing are finding their way back to improving health.June, sorry you had to join those who were already ailing too. Hope Greg has managed to pass the stone by now...that's a rough road to travel I understand....and no reward accompanies it as women can claim with the babies....
Have a blessed day/night, safe travels, productive day or sweet dreams, or perhaps simply a good relaxing period of self contemplation...whatever rocks your boat, and swells your hearts...Peace.
