Good maEn everyone...Had a good day with Darrell in SLC...
Cyn: Great news about the results! WOO HOO! Chemo is NEVER a good thing, very hard on the body. My aunt Sandra went thru Chemo a few years ago when she had a lump in her breast...Thank God, she went thru it fine (at over age 70!)
Had other ffuts to say, but CRAFTS strikes again!
Take care everyone, TTFN

G'Day, Everyone! Smiling here with the excellent news so far today!
Nearing time for bed here. It will be another early morning.

Rolanda, sounds as if S#2 did well shopping by himself. If shoes cost as much in Oz as they do here, I can understand his reluctance to buy a new pair!
Suzanne, glad you and Darrell had a good day in SLC!
MizT, it's always nice to see a post from you! You got more accomplished today than I did. Between physical therapy, some time on the treadmill on my own and water aerobics, I was out of the house for 4 plus hours today. Luckily, PT is in the same building as the gym/pool, so didn't need to drive all over.

I know there is a bed in the spare room but I will be blowed if I can see it!!!
Major furniture moving going on here... have emptied and relocated two chests of drawers, emptied my storage unit onto the bed, repositioned it on top of the longest chest of drawers and now need to restack it so you can see the bed...

Finished reading now folks.
Brenda I commented on your jumper... I also have one somewhere here in my boxes that I couldn't bear to dispose of that I knitted for Lachie... I think it could be the same pattern. Will post photo's one day of the going home from hospital outfit... kept me amused in hospital when I restricted to bed for 4 weeks... I used to be a beautiful knitter. Loved the Aarlan patterns...didn't matter that they weren't in English... knitting is knitting...
I do recall one jumper that had me repeatedly undoing the knitting until I realised what they were suggesting I do... it was knitted with two different wools and I think 3 rows where knitted with the main colour and then 1 row with the contrast which was forming a diamond pattern over the top of the 1st yarn... my description sounds complicated because it was.... hence all the pulling undone and reknitting...

Good afternoon all.
So happy to hear that not only did Bill's surgery go well, that he is also out of hospital - way to go!!
Just been to see my sister and she is also recovering very well - back on solids and Doc says she can probably come home tomorrow. She was up and about walking well, almost pain free and all tubes and attachments gone. Woo Hoo!
Broni - so pleased to hear that you're feeling so well - after everything you've been through - it's about time!
CRAFTS has got me - so hello to all. I'll come back later when I've got a few things done.

Good news about Bill. Hopefully your sister will be out of hospital soon Cyn and back to full health after her op.
Fingers still crossed for Rolanda's mum.
Son has just left for his first day in his new job looking very smart in black. He had to make sure that Indi didn't get anywhere near him as she is shedding her white coat. Wouldn't have made a very good impression turning up covered in dog hair.

Also good news about Bill. It will be nice to have Gail back.
So pleased for you Broni that things are finally making you feel better.

Nice that your son did his own shopping Rolanda, but it makes us realise how they are growing up.

Well I finally finished typing that post. Just took about 3/4 hour with a phone call in the middle.
Nice to see your son off to his new job, Brenda.
I started a post the other night and I was soooo tired I just turned off the computer without finishing it.
Julie you are certainly doing a lot of work getting ready for the knee operation. There will also be a lot afterwards and then it will be like new!

I took the Grandson to the city yesterday. We went in by train, then got a ferry around under the Harbour Bridge and went to the Imax theatre to see "Dinosaurs Alive" in 3D. Very spectacular. It only went for 50 minutes and that was long enough to keep his attention.
A few trips around on the monorail, back home by train and then had to walk the 2K home from the station so I was very tired and even hit the 'hard stuff' to try and unwind. I feel sorry for the grandson as you have to keep on his back the whole time (trying to do it in a nice way)and it is quite exhausting. I would hate being a teacher with several ADD kids in the class!
I find he is very hard work!(even though I love him!)I foolishly bought a 'glow in the dark plastic Halloween sword' and it is his favourite play thing. All my flowers and new shoots on the plants have been decapitated! If it wasn't the sword it would have been with a stick. No matter how much he is told he just cannot help himself.
Actually it was much better when Laura was here as well as they played more together!(and she told him when he was being naughty!)
Enough of my problems or whatever. I will miss him when he goes home.

Evening all!
Finally home for the evening. We had a fun night though as one of the girls had a birthday this week. That means, cake, singing happy birthday, presents, lots of photos and laughter. I've told one of the women that I'm going to put an embarrassing photo of her on fb - she has a happy birthday sign on her head... I am SO jealous of the birthday gift this girl got - flying lessons!!!!

Rolanda, great news about your son doing his own shopping - another thing off your to do list! Shame about the shoes though.
Julie, shoes are way more expensive here than in the States! You had a busy day.

Cyn, your sis sounds like she is recovering super quickly too! Way to go peoples!
Brenda, isn't it wonderful to see them looking all spiffy? Sometimes they look so daggy you have to pretend you're not with them - and, yes, I feel very old thinking that about the new fashions.
June, that sounds like a wonderful adventure with your grandson. I love the way you think of him. Laura is a very grown up little girl. I can see her growing up into a lovely young lady.

The girls have a gig tomorrow morning. The Camp Quality Car Rally leaves from one of the local clubs tomorrow. It's going to be interesting. We were told that we would probably only be needed for 30 minutes as the cars will be leaving. Then we found out yesterday that although the cars will be leaving we will be needed for another 3.5 hours. Hmmm. Usually that would mean other people would be involved but it's now too late for that. AND one of the girls got braces yesterday and won't be able to sing much at all. I suggested doing like the bands do in the clubs and putting CDs on for a while. It will be interesting anyway.

Hello friends!
So sorry for my lack of attention to you all - even posting now without reading (bad SAer!)...but I only have 5 days left!
SOOOOO much to do, still.
Hope you all sign up as "followers" on our blogspot (leave me a PM if you need the URL)
I just got a cool "flip" video recorder that makes it super easy to take videos of our adventure and post them on the blog. I tried it out with a very poor (shot in the dark) video of Panda. The future posts will be much better, I promise!

My very dear friend Destiny (aka D-Dog, Esq.) had to be put to sleep yesterday. She is the dog of my friend Cheryl that I have been walking weekly on our hike in Empire Mine State Park. She was the most wonderful pup and I am grieving deeply - I had no idea that I would be affected so strongly by her passing. I got to spend time with her (lying on the floor surrounding her with love and comforting words) when they let her go. She will always live in my heart and I look forward to seeing her when I cross over, myself.

Greetings SAers. It is almost cold and very damp here today. Hopefully the humidity will moderate as soon as this cold front goes on through, I can at least hope. this is NOT October weather. I think I might even have to turn on the heat, I kept thinking it would warm up today, nope, still dropping. we will need heat the next 4 days and nights, lows into the 40's and perhaps 30's. what happened to autumn?
Not a lot going on here. I did not sleep well last night and tried to sleep in this morning. did you know a cat can meow for one hour and 35 minutes without stopping? Al got up, and went out to his office to make his morning coffee, letting me sleep, BUT the cat came in as he went out. this is Screech, and she lived up to her name this morning. I am not sure if she wanted OUT or if she was complaining about food bowls being empty, but she sat there and meowed at me as i tried to sleep through it. My bed was warm, and I was not hurting at last and I was not about to get up for her! I wonder if that is a record? should we call Guinness Book of Records? ?
I read and I have forgotten, so I will slip on our o here for this morning and try to come back later, hugs to all. VICI, only 5 days, who has more to do, you are BEAN?

Hi Everyone....Just a brief hello after a long time away...or at least it seemed fairly long....Life,love,joy fun, sports(football start-up, baseball play-offs and basketball with a new coach) as well as having all of my children(two plus two)grands and great grand together as we celebrated my great-niece's wedding...a wonderful affair have occupied my time, but I do hope to return on a more consistent basis now that most of my traveling and expected big events are over for the remainder of the year....
To all who have celebrated happy occasions while I was preoccupied, please accept my deeply felt, albeit late, best wishes for births of children, grandchildren, birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings and anything else that brought you joy...may the good times continue to be enjoyed via their memories....
To those who have been dealing with health issues, your own or someone close...please know that my heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with you and your loved ones for a speedy recovery, and pain free healing...or as close to pain-free as possible.
To those traveling anywhere...may your adventures be filled with fun and laughter, and may the joys outweigh the travel challenges that may occur...safe comings and goings throughout the trips.
To those affected by the whims of Mother Nature and her stormy ways...may you remain safe and strong in the face of such adversity and destruction. My thoughts and prayers for a quick return to normalcy.
Now, I'm off to get ready to enjoy a night of joy and fun watching the wonderful Cirque Du Soleil....Its a belated birthday gift to a friend of mine. She has never seen one of their shows and when I learned this was to be here, I quickly grabbed two tickets...I love them and know it will be a great evening...just wish we were having better weather...but hey...you can't have everything all of the time and I've had a pretty good run. I will be checking in again much sooner than before...Peace.

BTW....Wedding pictures including pictures of my entire family are posted on face book by my son and can be viewed I think by all who frequent it, not just friends. Let me know, and then perhaps I can get some on my page if you need to be a friend to see them. I'll also try and post some to my page later...but my son's are better than mind, and more extensive.
