Hello, Folks! It's good to be here and see whoever else is around today!
Bean, thanks for sharing about the baby in the pram. I had heard something about it, but not seen footage. What an awful feeling that Mum (and the train engineer) must have had!
Suzy, so glad the girls had an appreciative audience for the time they sang! How nice that you have found a car!
June, the silver medal is still quite an accomplishment for the baseball team! Congrats to them for playing well! Also, it's nice to hear that you got a respite from the grandies for a day. Sometimes, it's nice to hear the sound of silence in the house.
Brenda, I'm sorry I mixed up you and Nola, 2 of our resident knitters! Yes, the jumper you're knitting should be done in time, especially if you can knit one in a week. You're amazing!
Happy Birthday
to "Mr. Suzy!" Will you have a cake
and presents? (Hubby & I just acknowledge the day here - no cake since there are just 2 of us - no presents, as we buy what we need when we can budget it).
Greetings to Nola, Suzy, Heidi, June, MizT, Tami the T, Bean, Brenda, Broni and others, including Suzanne, Bobbi, Mamacita, V Vici, V Viv, Rolanda, Gail, CynB, etc. My apologies to those I've missed!

Cyn, I must not have you listed as a friend, as your light isn't on. But Viv's is on, so she's somewhere on site. Hi, Viv! (Wish I had a smilie with an enthusiastic wave.)

Good morning everyone.
Brenda, you niece's kiddywinks here definitely don't need to be wearing woollies at the moment..
a very hot day here yesterday 36.9C, today a cooler 27C predicted.
Spring only landed briefly here between winter and summer.
A few days ago we still had the heater on, the AC got turned on yesterday.

well, the child has just left to go to a uni mates place, they will be going to 'octoberfest' by train, and he will be staying overnight there.. Will be going to Uni tomorrow from his mates place.
He was telling me the direction he will be driving to Mark's place (lives in a suburb in the hills and my boy can't navigate his way out of a box!!). I am listening.. and thinking yep know sorta of where you are heading.. down this road up that one, turn into... etc.. he got to the end.. and I am thinking.. gee that sounds sort of familiar..
So I asked.. umm what's Mark's surname.. he said C, and I said. oh... well then, say hello to his mum and dad, we know them quite well.. haven't seen them in for ever. and I'm sure this Mark is only a few months older than you ( went and visited mum and Mark in the hospita, with my boys, Stephen being only a few months old), and his has 5 brothers etc etc etc, his dad was/is a lecturer at uni ...
It is a a small world.

Rolanda, a small world, indeed! I imagine he was shocked to find out you knew the family! At least you won't need to expend energy worrying about who his mate's family is and what they might be like!

Evening all!
Julie, presents and choice of dinner here, as well as cake - baked and decorated by Ally. We gave him a fishing rod this year. He keeps saying he wants to learn how to fish, now he has to or we will be offended...
Rolanda, that is so weird! A teeny tiny world!
Ebob is flying high today. She had a great game with the juniors today using the skills she learned playing with the seniors over winter. She even slid into home plate. She's never done that before but the catcher planted himself in front of the plate and I guess she thought sliding was easier than knocking him over.

Suzy, please wish D a very happy birthday. Pleased you had a great evening.
Glad Ebob is still able to play 'ball and had a good game.
We went to the farm to return a car my son had borrowed and to pick up the Grandies. They had a wonderful time this afternoon playing in the mud on the edge of the dam. They were mud from head to foot. I got the shorts to wash! They are soaking overnight!
Enjoyed the quiet house last night and slept in this morning. Son and Grandson both here tonight and then back to being just us! (we took Laura back to her parents)

Good morning/evening all.
Wow,congratulations June. The years certainly slip away quickly alright.Did you manage to celebrate somehow?
I saw the pix of Laura in the mud.Doubt if the pink shorts will ever be the same again, but I bet she had a great time.
Suzy..I missed Hubby's birthday but hope he enjoyed his day.Great news about the deposit on a car.
Rolanda..it really is a small world. While in Bathurst we met some people from my home town and it made me so homesick.
Cyn..I hope your son settles in quickly to his unit. It's nice that you could give it a womans touch and make it homely.
On Sunday afternoon ,the 5 grandies,Renae,Josh,Greg and I went to the Botanical Gardens to listen to the municipal band playing. The day was beautiful in the shade and it started to rain a few hours afterwards,so we were lucky.

Brenda, If you actually did bring a miniature pig, I would keep the pig and get rid of the husband.
My husband and his friend saw an article about miniature pigs and what wonderful pets they make. They thought about breeding and selling them. I told both, the ONLY way it is going to work is if we get the male pig and hubby's friend gets the female. I AM NOT about to start raising pigs!!!!!

Debby, I will remember. Does that mean you are planning on driving over for the afternoon?
I have found a diner that I think can accomodate us. They have good food. I was supposed to call them today and I forgot. We are looking at about 12:30 or 1:00. I am trying to find a place that won't have the football games on tv's. Otherwise, they will be very busy.

Greetings, Friends!
Suzy, hope hubby had a wongerful birthday & was pleased with his fishing rod! So glad Ebob did well in her baseball game. I remember the first time I slid into a base - kind of scary and exciting at the same time. Was she safe?
June, LOVED the mud pictures! What fun they must have had! (Please let us know how clean the pink shorts are after soaking & washing. Maybe you can recommend a pre-soak product - even do a commercial of before & after.
Ooh, Bean! Just 4 more days! We can hardly wait! Keep us posted!
Vici, good luck with the packing and safe flight when you go!
Wishing you and hubby a Happy Anniversary, June! Congrats on 46 years!!!
Bean, Rolanda has good advice for you! You and Vici will be sooo excited and talking a mile a minute and sight-seeing and visiting friends and only see a bed briefly before flopping into it. She's going to Oz to see you wonderful Aussies, NOT to evaluate your homes/furnishings!
