I am looking forward to seeing my friends again! Wow! What a year it has been! Heidi, I am really looking forward to visiting Surreal Farm and Tami I am looking forward to seeing you again, too. Don't worry about the beasties.... I have raised 5 children and will enjoy being with them! My two oldest will be meeting us in Florida and spending a week with us. It will be fun. We will have the van packed tomorrow night when we go to bed and hit the road early on Wednesday morning.

Ah, Debby - you'll have to keep us up to date on your visits because, you know, we will all want to visit Surreal farm and meet up with Brenda, Tami and Bobbi vicariously through you.

Hello, All! It's a new day! (Well, it's night here.)
Rolanda, I'm so sorry your Mum received the diagnosis she did. I pray that it was caught early and doctors find an effective method to treat it. The good news is that that happens more often these days. I can think of 3 friends right now who have been cancer-free for a year, about 2.5 years and about 7 years. Prayers that your Mum may have the same results! Warm hugs {{{{Rolanda}}}} {{{{Rolanda's Mum}}}} to both of you!
Wow, Bean! You have set yourself quite a goal with all the painting, planting & cleaning & arranging! Good luck to you. I especially hope you are able to get the plants comfortably settled where you want them! You'll accomplish as much as you can - and that will be enough!
June, want to wish you & Mr. June Happy Anniversary again! Sounds like quite a busy day, and now your son & grandson are headed home. You must be a laundry (sorry, yrdnual) wizard to get most of the mud out of the pink shorts!
Seems like the "visiting/meeting friends" excitement is spreading. Besides Vici and Bean and Brenda, Tami and Bobbi being excited and/or having difficulty sleeping, I see that Nola didn't sleep well. Both hubby and I had little sleep last night, but we attribute it to the fact that we had to be up and out early today to go into Chicago for a "pre-op" day of tests, X-rays, classes, doctor visits. (It took nearly 2 hours to travel possibly 25 miles.)
Wow, June, Sharon is going back to work! She must recover well and relatively quickly! Wishes for her that she isn't too exhausted the first few days!
Suzy, lots of financial complications to replace the car(s)! I hope the paperwork is done quickly! Good luck getting the car in time! Hope someone at the bank can speed up the process! BTW, I like your new haircut!!
Hello & warm wishes, Heidi! It's always a pleasure to see you here! Sorry the steer today wasn't cooperative! I hope you don't pay for it too much tomorrow with sore back and muscles! How exciting that Debby will be there in 2 days for a visit! Much gathering of kindred souls is taking place this month!
Suzanne, good luck with your Mary Kay marketing! Are there any new colors or products to be introduced prior to the holidays? I used to put together groupings of products, as hostess gifts, teacher gifts, holiday gifts in a nice basket.
Greetings to those who posted on page 423: Bean, Rolanda, Suzy, CynB, Brenda, V Viv, D Lizzy, June, Nola, V Vici, Bobbi, Heidi, Suzanne, and Tami! Hope I didn't miss anybody on p. 423!

And now, on page 424, hello to Debby and June! Ah, Debby, you're driving! You said "we'll" have the van packed tomorrow night and leave early Wednesday morning. Is your hubby traveling with you? (For me to drive longer than 20 minutes is unsafe, as I fall asleep. Any time I need to drive further, like I did today, I must rely on someone else, usually my hubby. Coming home today, I was asleep before we left the Chicago city limits and slept nearly the whole way home. When we got home, we had a late lunch (after 3:00 p.m.), then hubby took a "Papa nap" for a couple of hours.
June is right! To all those who will be visiting, we are counting on you as a visitor to take photos and/or videos so we can share the visiting vicariously. Thank you!

Had an enjoyable dinner out. We won the bowls game (just social) and all the washing got dry . All sunshine no clouds. So now I can make up all the spare beds and those rooms look tidy for the BBQ weekend.
Good to see you back Heidi. Just read one of Julie's updates and you will have no need to go back and read all the posts. Julie does such a wonderful job. Heidi,I hope you have not done any damage loading the steer.

Hi everybody, I am home!
Unfortunately I have come home to a house with VEEERY slow internet so I can't really stay and play.
Just want you all to know that I have left Bill in high spirits and hearty health, with the hopes that all remains well. Will pop back and fill you in on some of the bits and bobs when we get some speed back on Thursday.
I came home early because today was Beth's birthday (20) and she has been very unwell with some sort of virusy thingy, and I couldn't think of a better pressie for her than her Mummy coming home to spoil her.
Loving thoughts to you all for your support, so greatly appreciated.

Welcome back, Gail - what a lovely Mummy - I'll bet Beth appreciated it. My daughter (now 37) still wants her Mummy when she is sick. I must admit I wished mine was here to make me tea and toast when I had swine flu!

It's been very busy here. The cold weather came in early, so the outside painting is done for now. The shingles are all primed and I got to about a third of the windows. Have indoor painting to get to. Still tearing down the wallpaper in the 1st floor bathroom. It seems like it was cemented on and the board underneath needs a lot of work. Ugh!
Went to Boston on Saturday for Bryana's Parents' Weekend and watched her soccer game in the freezing cold. She decided to come home for a visit, so I took her back yesterday and visited Meghan at the same time. Brought her some food since she does not have a meal plan. It was a very long day with a lot of driving!
Ian has a soccer game this afternoon and I'm going to go to Brendan's soccer game tomorrow. He has a game on Long Island, so I will stop to visit my mom.(3 1/2 hours one way) Ian's last soccer game is on Thursday, so I will be back for that.(it's the farthest school, 45 minutes away) I'm putting a lot of miles on my van!
I'm very far behind doing stuff around the house, so I must be off.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Small townitis... Ebob has been best friends with a girl for about 5 years. About a month ago she overheard this girl saying some pretty nasty stuff about her. She thought about it and decided that this girl wasn't really a friend. It hurt, but she found she was happier not having to listen to this girl complain about her boyfriend etc etc and was moving on. Then this girl got someone to call Ebob and ask questions - Ebob could hear her in the background. Now she is telling people that I called her mother and told her what she had said and she was in big trouble. Why on earth would I call her mother? Why would she say I did? Did someone? Why? I feel like I'm living in a soapy!!! I thought I grew up about 30 years ago!

Suzy: People can be VERY petty! Doesn't matter how old (or mature) they are!! I had kids make fun of me (even tho I thought we were friends) because of my leg brace that I wore in school. I even had a 3rd grade teacher call me cripple...I never showed how hurt I was, but those closest to me proved that they were REAL friends because they would tell the other kids to stop. Tell Ebob to just let it go, the girl wasn't a TRUE friend (in ANY sense) if she did something like that. And to get HER mom involved was just dumb.

Boy are we excited...last night we yabbered on until the battery went flat and still had to send each other emails about things we didn't say in all our excitement... She sounds very organised. Rolanda, I agree with you. Bean, let the house go and maybe your dream will come true. When I first had Mitchell, my mom would come watch him on my late nights if hubby was out of town. I worked in retail and he traveled for business. I would come home to find bottles cleaned and baby wash done. It was great to have the extra help, even if she did work full time also. Maybe Vici will be the "cleaning" fairy.

Greetings & Salutations, World Travelers & those of us who will be staying at home!
I apologize for misstating our travel information. The distance was actually 36 miles; I underestimated by about 11 miles. Yes, Suzy, some people commute that distance and that amount of time 5 days a week, many of them a single person in a car.
June, congrats on winning the bowls game! How nice that the weather cooperated and the washing got dry!
Reminds me that I need to rewash bedding & towels before Thanksgiving here (4th Thursday of Nov., but need to do it before heading to the hospital for my new knees) for a couple of upstairs bedrooms/bathrooms. I like to have everything in place, then worry that it has collected dust since the previous washing & need to do it all again. At least it looks nice between guests.
It's great to have Gail back at home again - on time to be a nurse for Beth and get her healthy for her birthday!
Happy Birthday, Beth!
Hope Beth is feeling better! Gail, Bill must be quite a trooper to be back at home and feeling energetic and in good spirits!
Rolanda, your quiet and thoughtful day with your Mum sounds like a good idea! Prayers for all the best for her (and you)!
Suzanne, sending warm thoughts & hugs to you (and your Aunt Sandra). How nice that you took the time to think of your Uncle Tony and call your Aunt Sandra on his birthday. Sounds like you had a wonderful relationship!
Stella, what a busy weekend! I hope your children realize how very special it is that you attempt to get to every important occurrence in their lives! Parents' Weekend, home for the weekend, soccer games hither and yon, etc. It's no wonder you feel like you're behind in doing things for the house, like priming & painting exterior and interior of the house and stripping wallpaper. Do you ever get a breather? I think we should find a "Super Mom" avatar for you!
Vici, are you packed? Have a wonderful trip! (Rolanda, I liked your customized song for her!) We'll be thinking of you and anxiously awaiting photographs! Have fun!
Suzy, sometimes there's just no way to figure out someone's motivation. Ebob's former friend must have a lot of time on her hands. Seems she has found a way to get sympathy and attention from her "current friends" by making up stories about Ebob and you. Just smile like a Buddha statue and know that you have a very mature & intelligent daughter! I hope she is able to ignore all of this and not let it bother her!
Nola, I hope you and your Sis had a wonderful time today. What was the name of the movie you saw?
Tami, I hope you get your papers graded! Stop by again if you do!
Did you find anything exciting in the freezer for dinner, Suzanne? If Darrell has overtime again tonight, does that mean that you're likely to get a good night's sleep?
